The Wild have a good mix of guys with speed and guys who can grind a little along the walls and with the Blackhawks defenseman the cycle game worked pretty well for the Wild last night. Cooke looked completely out of place last night and couldn't keep up at all. There were a couple different times he caught the puck in the neutral zone standing still and before he could do anything a Blackhawk had tied him up from behind I think an easy change would be putting in Haula who was very good last year in the playoffs against the Hawks. The Wild were awful in the 1st period and Dubnyk wasn't great giving up a couple he regularly stops but if Pominville could have hit the open net late that game goes to OT. I'm pretty confident if the Wild play the way they can and did most of last series they will win this series.

Agreed this is a series where you need as much speed as possible Yeo needs to put guys like Haula and Schroeder in and guys like Cooke can come out. Not a real good game for either goalie last night but we saw the way Dubnyk bounced back after game 4 of the STL series so I'm thinking he will bounce back well again Sunday.

Not a huge fan of the Vikes 3rd round pick seems very early to take a chance on a project especially when you have other positions that need to be filled. Will be interesting to see if/when La'el Collins is drafted today and if he will actually sign after his agent said he wouldn't if he wasn't drafted yesterday.
-
Should be some good players available for the Vikings I like the talent of both Beckham and the OL Collins and even though both have off the field concerns I would still probably take a chance on either if they are there. Would love if Alabama S Landon Collins fell to the Vikes pick but don't think it will happen. Should be able to get a solid linebacker with Kendricks, McKinney, and Perrymann all still on the board if they opt for that route too. A couple other WRs besides DGB still available that I wouldn't mind like Jaelen Strong and Devin Smith.

I'm not a huge fan of those as the new home jerseys I actually like the green/wheat look but would like to see a redesign of the red jerseys.

Really like the Waynes pick good fit at a position of need for the Vikings. Biggest surprise to me so far is Scherrf going #5 to Washington.

Here I thought we had a bunch of new recruiting news pretty disappointed to find a bunch of new posts about Connor McDavid, Jack Eichel, and the Edmonton Oilers instead.
-
Sounds like he was gonna be a walk-on at Minnesota but LSSU offered some sort of scholarship so he decided to reconsider.
-
Really liked him probably only behind Jake Oettinger for me for potential goalie recruits.
-
I agree that he will probably be fired or they will break their core up this offseason and try something different but definitely think they will make some sort of change or changes. Allen was very good the first 4 games of the series and switching goalies in any of those games wouldn't have made a difference. In games 5 and 6 he made some good saves but definitely gave up a few very weak goals.
-
Was a little worried after that late goal by Oshie but Parise scoring right away in the 3rd calmed everything back down and let the Wild settle back in. I feel much more optimistic going into the Chicago series this year than I did last year.
-
Yep that turnover when he had plenty of time to clear the zone with about 20 secs left is the big reason it isn't 2-0 heading to the 3rd.
-
Walker was a solid player when watching Edina in the state tournament this year but I was more impressed with the other freshman on the roster defenseman Clayton Phillips he is definitely a guy I hope ends up at UND.
-
Great to see Dubnyk bounce back tonight and play really well. He really kept the Wild in the game when they weren't very good for the first about period and a half. Hope the Wild can come out and play well right from the opening faceoff and close out the Blues Sunday.
-
Yeah there were a few different red flags you could see right from the very 1st goal he wasn't sharp Yeo should have recognized that and didn't. Should have made the move in the 1st period after the 3rd goal not only because a couple were goals he should have stopped but also to try to wake up the team in front of him as well who wasn't playing well.
-
I think most coaches would have pulled him in the 1st period and I would have agreed. Definitely should have been after the 4th at the latest and I'm still skeptical about just how good of coach Yeo is.
-
Just as the Wild had the momentum and looked like they might have a comeback in them after the Spurgeon powerplay goal Dubnyk gives up another weak one. Very surprised Yeo has not pulled him yet he doesn't look sharp at all tonight.
-
Not a good start at all Wild better show up in the 2nd. Dubnyk has given up a couple that he usually stops tonight and everyone is a little slow moving the puck tonight. Hopefully the Wild can cash in on the powerplay to start the 2nd and get back into it.

I don't care whether UND follows the gentleman's agreement or not but I think the whole thing is stupid especially if some are following the agreement and others are not. I would rather just do away with the whole gentleman's agreement and recruits are up for grabs until they sign on the dotted line just like they are in other sports.
-
Haven't seen any real updates but I do believe it is possible that we don't lose anyone. My opinion is still that Jordan is the most likely to sign and that Zane is the next most likely but it is really a 50/50 type thing. It wouldn't surprise me to see everybody back and it wouldn't surprise me if we lose a couple the surprise to me would be if we lose any more than 2.

Adrian Peterson wants trade to Cowboys

Anyone who had watched one of Christian Ponder's college games could have told you he shouldn't be a 1st round pick but the Vikings were dumb and panicked reaching for a QB. I don't know any Viking fans who were happy with that selection most fans I know were hoping for Prince Amukamara or Nick Fairley. My guess is AP will either be playing in Minnesota next year or he won't be playing in the NFL at all. -

The difference is they have Teddy Bridgewater at QB instead of Christian Ponder so there is actually the threat of a decent passing game. Vikings have a decent chance to be a playoff team this year with another solid draft in about a week whether AP is with the Vikings or not. -

The Vikings control whether he will play in the NFL again which gives them all the leverage. If he wants to walk away from the NFL and lose out on his money than so be it but if he wants to play in the NFL the only way that happens right now is in Minnesota. I can't see AP walking away from the NFL and the $$$ but who knows I'm sure he could use the money with all the child support he probably has to pay. If the Vikings are only being offered a 5th or 6th rounder or something I would much rather see the Vikings stick to their guns and force AP to make a decision of whether he really wants to play in the NFL or not. -

No the Vikings hold all the cards. Either AP plays in Minnesota and the Vikings pay him or he doesn't play in the NFL and he doesn't get his money. The only way he will be playing in the NFL for anyone other than the Vikings is if another team meets the Vikings demands of a high draft pick/good player. -
Complete domination from the Wild tonight getting great chances all night and not giving up much of anything at all. Ott again pulls his typical crap at the end of the game I really hope somebody squares him up before the end of this series.
