Twins have now lost 3 in a row and with 2 games left with the Angels followed by 3 with the Yankees and 2 with the Pirates they are in a pretty tough stretch of games that could determine whether they really end up being contenders or not before the trade deadline.

I do agree with you Sun Dogs is the worst case scenario and if I get a real vote it definitely would not be for that but I'm not sure what it would be for. I wouldn't be at all surprised if when the new logo/nickname are implemented hockey just continues with the North Dakota jersey style and no logo sticker on the side of the helmet.

It isn't anything to make me feel any kind of way or anything I need to think about. I'm sure I won't be the only person who continues to call the teams Fighting Sioux and wear Fighting Sioux stuff rather than get on board with a new nickname either.

That would seem really stupid to see what the public thinks when it isn't an option and then when they see the public likes it were they gonna go back and fix there mistake and make North Dakota an option again?

Since it can't be just North Dakota now I guess I don't care what it ends up and won't vote for any of these nicknames. I will continue to call the teams the Fighting Sioux. I will continue to support the teams especially men's hockey but will not buy any merchandise with the new nickname/logo on it.

Never really thought of Gerlach as much of a risk to go the WHL believe when he committed he had said he was a big fan of Sioux hockey and always dreamed of playing for UND. Not sure how true it actually is but seems to me kids outside our traditional recruiting areas are a lot bigger risk of bolting for the CHL. Gerlach from Texas, Miller from Ohio, Koules from California, and Mantha from Michigan to name some.

Voltin hasn't been a recruit for a while now and I would think the other guys will all come in next year. Cakebread didn't have a good year at all with Fargo last year and if he has the same type of season this year I could see him never ending up on campus.

Twins go into the All Star break at 49-40 good for the 2nd best record in the AL behind Kansas City.

I would be very surprised if he doesn't end up playing at a JUCO somewhere this fall and if he plays well and stays out of trouble there somebody will give him a 2nd chance.

Completely agree, it still isn't an excuse for what he did and he shouldn't have ever reacted that way but I do think she should also face some sort of penalty for her actions.

Not excusing the QB's actions at all as what he did was very wrong and he should have just walked away but did the woman face any punishment in this? It looks to me like she plays a big part in it by threatening to punch Johnson first and then kneeing him in the groin area and punching him when he tries to restrain her. I also see Johnson's lawyer has come out and said the woman provoked Johnson with racial comments as well. I could see him getting a start in September if the Twins have already been eliminated from playoff contention or maybe coming up if the Twins have a couple starters go on the DL during the 2nd half of the season.

I think we will get a lot more out of Gersich than you think. I see him filling a top 6 role and wouldn't be at all surprised with 10 or so goals. I think the extra year really helped Wilkie a lot and he will have a nice freshman season as well. I expect a better offense this year and this group of freshmen will be a big part of that.

Not really a surprise to me he probably realized he would be a borderline guy at UND and not see much playing time again.

Have heard from a couple different people I trust that Wisconsin coaches didn't exactly stay in great contact with him after he committed as well. One story was a Wisco coach called him and asked him how everything was going with his season at Burnsville but he was instead playing with Waterloo in the USHL. Another one was when Waterloo played in Madison and Wisconsin didn't even send any coaches to watch and talk to Brock after the game.

That isn't too much to give up at all 2nd round picks aren't all that valuable some teams will even just sell 2nd round picks for cash. Jones is a solid clutch player and has been leader on a lot of very good teams. The Wolves needed another PG and he fits very well him being a Minnesota native is just a bonus.

Meyer did get the call and is up for tonight's game. Buxton also was placed on the DL with a left thumb injury and Danny Santana was called back up for tonight.

I'm not surprised by it at all either. I did guess Stecher would get the C this year but Ausmus would have been my 2nd guess. As you said both have been called "future captain" by a number of players and people around the program.
