Another frustrating and ugly performance tonight. Very frustrated by the hockey east reffing tonight but I guess that is pretty common when we go east. Clark was alright probably should have been better on the 1st goal but I thought the 3rd was the worst with him kicking out a horrible rebound and I hope we see Zane tomorrow night. Right now I am just hoping this team can get healthy and come together a little bit and make a run to get in the tournament again this season. Watching some of the Gopher/Bulldog game tonight there is definitely a huge level of difference between a championship contender like the Gophers and where we are right now.

North Dakota MHockey@UNDMHockey4m UND lineup: Chyzyk-Caggiula-Grimaldi || Murphy-Johnson-Parks || Mi. MacMillan-Tambellini-Gaarder || Ausmus-Pattyn-Panzarella North Dakota MHockey@UNDMHockey4m Defense: Simpson-Schmaltz || Mattson-LaDue || Thompson-Stecher || Goalies: Saunders-Gothberg

Just saw that, I think Thompson would probably fit the best as a forward out of the 3 but I can understand that Hak wouldn't want him playing as a forward when he hasn't played very much even on D this season.

Reading the travel blog it looks like the whole roster made the trip to Boston. It says that Rodwell's status is still up in the air but I would think Schloss is right and he probably won't be able to go. Assuming Rodwell can't go what do you think we see for lines this weekend? Tough situation but I think I'd go something like this: Chyzk-Caggiula-Rocco Tambo-Johnson-Parks Sanderson-Pattyn-Murphy Mitch-Gaarder-Panzerella/Ausmus Even though Tambo is naturally a center I think he would be almost a waste of his talent if he plays with Mitch and a D-man and think he would fit in well with Johnson and Parks.

Haha he definitely has got a lot more talent than a North Dakota 9-man player. Here are his stats from this season TD: 18 103 Carriers- 935 Yd 15 Rec-360 Yd 10 KR-470 Yd 4 PR-250 Yd All Purpose Yds-2,015 Definitely plays bigger than his listed size and the tape lists him at 5'9" 185. Take a look at his highlight tape to me it looks like he is better than any of the current backs.

Might look like a scat back because of size but very physical running style. Would be a great pickup if UND could get him, had a horrible offensive line his freshman year at Northland and found his way to be a Honorable Mention All American, great kid off the field too.

Solid win, I was thinking here we go again after UMD tied the game back up. Saunders played well for the most part but you just can't give up the 2 that he did. Rodwell has definitely looked motivated and if he keeps playing like he has he won't see the stands again. Mitch works hard but his lack of speed is just so apparent and I really hope we don't have to rely on him playing for too much longer, wouldn't mind even going with 7 D some of the time. Really don't like seeing Panz in the lineup either he just seems so uncomfortable back in there and slow to the puck and make decisons. I would like to see Zane in the net tonight and Ausmus in for Panz tonight.

Badly needed win to end the skid, team needs to get healthy and start playing at a higher level consistently starting this Friday with Duluth.

Still pretty early in the season but if some guys don't start producing and getting results soon it will probably be another year where we will need a second half surge to be a tournament team.

Disappointed in this team this weekend, right now a lot of the more veteran guys need to step up. IMO the freshmen are the ones playing the hardest right now and are the ones sticking to assignments for the most part. Guys like Grimaldi, MacMillan, Parks, OD, and Mattson really need to step their game up. Not only are some of them not finishing or creating offense but some are turning the puck over on stupid plays way too much. Last night I saw Grimaldi do it at least twice and Mattson did it and it was in the back of the net real quick after it happened. I thought Zane put together two solid games although I'm sure he wishes he would have gathered up the rebound that turned into the first goal but that was also another case where a lot of Sioux players were just standing around way too much which seemed to happen a lot more than it should this weekend. I'm not giving up on this team but the older guys definitely need to step up and the team needs to play more consistent throughout the game.

Should be pretty good some real nice prospects coming back and I believe they had a couple pretty good bantam and JV teams last year as well. I would expect that they would be the favorite in to get to state out of 8A again.

Just read @UNDMHockey tweet that each team only had 2 shots on goal in the 3rd, pretty suprised by that because there still was a lot of action and some decent chances.

Solid effort tonight from the Sioux and really liked the way the lineup was set and played. Zane was real solid and that was huge especially early on, but it wasn't one of those situations where he had to steal the game. Sioux created some real nice chances and missed the net on a couple of them, thought Tambo was gonna put away the one in the 3rd but he just missed the net but I really like his shot and think he has that natural goal scoring ability. St.Clair looked like he had what he wanted on the breakaway attempt but the puck rolled at the last second or I think he would have finished that one, seemed like there were a number of times were the puck was really rolling and tough to handle. Really when the Sioux got in trouble was when they stopped attacking for a while and were kind of standing around and Miami took advantage for that time in the 2nd. Really liked the way the refs called the game tonight especially after the way it was called last weekend although I think the 5 minute should've probably been a 2 but we have definitely been on the bad end of some of those calls before so it was good to be the beneficiary for once although we didn't do much with it. Hope for the sweep and the same type of effort from the Sioux tomorrow night!

Disappointed with the result last night just because there were so many chances that the Sioux couldn't finish. OD has actually looked decent and may have a role on this years team. I would much rather see Rodwell or Chyzk over Mitch but wonder if Rodwell is hurt since we haven't seen him yet. Mark is too talented to have Mitch on his line and really kind of drag him down. Thompson really struggled on D and Mattson wasn't real great either. I thought Zane played pretty well and think he wishes he had another chance at both those goals. I think LaDue deflected the 1st goal and Zane would have had it without the deflection and still did get a glove on it. The 2nd goal I would be interested to see if Zane would have made the save without Johnson running into him as I think he probably would have made the save. Here is what I would like to see Friday night at Miami: Tambo-Caggiula-Rocco OD-Mark Mac.-Parks Murphy-Johnson-St.Clair Chyzk/Gaarder-Pattyn-Rodwell(if healthy) Simpson-Schmaltz Ausmus-Stecher Mattson/Thompson-LaDue Gothberg Saunders

Pretty suprised to see Ausmus not in the lineup tonight thought he was one of the better D last night. Also thought Rodwell would get in for Mitch and play the energy role with his speed and physical style but hopefully the lineup Hak put together for tonight can get the job done again.
-
Thought the reffing was horrible and made the game hard to watch at times. Couple guys that dressed last night that I wouldn't expect to see in the lineup tonight are Mitch and Panzerella. If Clarke can't play any better than he did last night he might have trouble even keeping the backup job, imo this will be Zanes job and should be. Lastly what will it take to get Midco to bring in a decent announcer, Hammer was horrible again!

Always been impressed when I've watched Coatta at Minnetonka. He is a smaller player but is highly skilled and always seems to be around the puck and finding the net.
