  1. Just from what I have seen reported.
  2. I'm not sure but I have seen anywhere from 4-7 reported. He may be the only person who knows the actual number.
  3. I'm not trying to say it is an excuse because it wasn't deliberate but I do believe there is huge difference between whether a person is legitimately trying to hurt their child or whether a person is trying to discipline their child and ends up going overboard.
  4. You don't know me don't try to tell me what I am. No I don't deal with kids who were abused but I'm sick of people acting like AP deliberately abused his son when in reality it was a punishment that he went overboard on and there is a huge difference between the two.
  5. I said nothing about Ray Rice I think he deserves everything he gets. AP was disciplining his kid the way he was disciplined and went a little overboard but I don't think that is even in the same category as Ray Rice or Greg Hardy.
  6. It is the discipline he was raised with and lots of people especially in the south still use the same kind of discipline, I also did say he may have went a little too far with it and he admitted as much. I'm far more upset with the Greg Hardy situation in that the Panthers are still letting him play when he has already had his trial and been found guilty but because he is appealing they let him play.
  7. I have already seen the pictures and know everything that has been reported doesn't change my opinion that he was trying to discipline his son and may have went a little overboard. Doesn't mean I would have used that same kind of discipline but I can understand why AP did since he was raised the same way.
  8. I think AP was just trying to discipline his son but he may have took it a little overboard. I can imagine Goodell might want to make an example in this case but imo this isn't even in the same ballpark as the Ray Rice and Greg Hardy cases. I think the main reason the Vikings deactivated him this week was to let him go turn himself in and bail himself which he did last night and would be kinda surprised if they don't let him play while this situation plays out.
  9. The 2nd kid in a year to do so,Joey Anderson of Hill Murray being the other, but I'm not sure of too many people who would agree with that reasoning.
  10. So looking into the story a little more the whole thing seems to be a little bit overblown with some of the "child beating" headlines. http://vikingsterritory.com/2014/off-the-field-issues/2014-minnesota-vikings-adrian-peterson-indicted-for-child-injury
  11. Not many details or information about it out there yet but sounds like the alleged child abuse situation involves one of his children that lives in Texas with the mother.
  12. They couldn't have got much local input because most people I've talked to consider him a terrible downgrade and wish we could go back to the days of Sweeney.
  13. I wouldn't be surprised if some team ends up signing him but it won't be for a while no team would want to deal with the media circus that would ensue if they signed him in the next few weeks.
  14. Wow the new elevator video of Ray Rice makes him look even worse than before hard to believe he only got 2 games for what he did.
  15. Little surprised Gameday chose Fargo for this week even though there aren't a whole lot of games that are great there are some I thought they would have chose over Fargo. The one I thought they would go to was Georgia @ South Carolina and I wouldn't have been surprised with UCLA vs. Texas, although I believe they did Gameday from that same site for week 1, or Tennessee @ Oklahoma either.
  16. The herald writers are apparently under a different assumption then as the question was asked in the weekly chat last week if UND actually had to pick a new nickname or not and they said no but they believe the school will to try to bring in more $$$. The school has to move on but fans of the Fighting Sioux don't and there will be plenty who never will and even when there is a new nickname much of the fanbase will refer to the teams either still as the Fighting Sioux or UND.
  17. College hockey athletes at any university drink alcohol but evidently at UND people really like to turn them in and punish them for some reason. A lot of times at other places people might turn a blind eye to this kind of thing and let it go because these guys are athletes and they wouldn't want to cause any problems for the athletic teams instead at UND we have people who want to turn them in and think they can make a name for themselves by turning athletes in because they are athletes.
  18. Former UNO defenseman Nick Seeler is transferring to Minnesota, would think he will have to sit out this season.
  19. Can't link it right now but saw in the Herald this morning that Trevor Olson and Cam Johnson were cited for underage drinking August 23rd.
  20. Garrett Wait of Edina just committed to Minnesota. Had heard there was a strong chance that he would end up there but was still hoping that Hak would somehow be able to land him.
  21. I agree with you on Olson and Simonson and really think Olson could step right into the Rodwell role with Pattyn and Gaarder and maybe even add a little more offense to that spot. I think Poganski will have a learning curve to deal with but with his raw talent and skill I think he will definitely get a good chance to stick in the lineup. With the increased depth I could see OD or Chyzk having a tough time getting into and staying in the lineup at times. Right now I'm thinking that Ausmus and Poolman will probably rotate in and out similar to what Ausmus and Thompson did for most of the season last year.
  22. Zane tweeted out a pic of his new helmet design if anyone wants to get a look at that. Zane Gothberg @ZanoInsano_29 · Aug 15 New helmet for the upcoming season. Concept design came from Patrick Roy's old Candians themed helmet… http://instagram.com/p/ruR_wgF5gH/
  23. Maverick Hockey ‏@UNO_Hockey 1h Defenseman Nick Seeler leaves Maverick hockey. http://OMavs.com. http://www.omavs.com/ViewArticle.dbml?SPSID=795013&SPID=135111&DB_LANG=C&ATCLID=209607634&DB_OEM_ID=31400 …
  24. I said nothing about UND football in my post and I follow the football program casually. Sioux hockey is #1 for me but as for other sports like football, basketball, baseball, etc I am a Gopher fan first and foremost so I'm pretty sure they have racked up some FBS wins over the years.
  25. A win over Penn State who finished 7-5 has no value? The Gopher football program is on the rise and these aren't the same type of teams that NDSU was fortunate enough to defeat.
