I would think we see lots of changes in the lineup tomorrow here is my guess: Caggiula-MacMillan-Schmaltz Simonson-Johnson-Parks Pattyn-Gaarder-Panzarella Olson-St.Clair-Poganski Thompson-Schmaltz Mattson-LaDue Ausmus-Poolman McIntyre

Just an ugly and very sloppy performance with very little if any positives to take away for UND. Tonight wasn't about coaching or systems or any of that it was all about effort. BSU just outworked and outhustled UND right from the drop of the puck and won almost all the individual battles. Moving forward to tomorrow I would be surprised to see most if not all the scratches from tonight in the lineup. Hak should have no shortage of guys to choose from to yank out of the lineup including some guys who have played a number of games for UND like Stecher, OD, Gaarder, and Chyzk as well as guys who haven't played as much like Murphy and Sanderson.

Wow a full post that people can actually read and understand.

Really a pathetic first 2 periods of the season. Losing almost every individual battle out there and getting beat to a lot of lose pucks would be great if anyone started to skate sometime soon. One of the worst parts as you expect upper classmen to set the tone and a couple of them have looked like the most lazy players on the ice tonight and just making stupid plays. Zane has been hung out to dry a number of times and made some good saves to not let it get any worse. Would love to see a comeback in this 3rd period but right now I'm just looking for guys who deserve to dress tomorrow night because so far I can't name too many.

He was the Canadian who came in from Fort Frances, Ontario. Kobe Roth was the recruit brought to Warroad from Iowa and he committed to UMD at the same time as Bethune. Bethune had been playing for Lincoln in the USHL and was gonna play there before and after the high school season but apparently there was some sort of falling out in Lincoln and he returned to Warroad and decided the WHL was his next move according to Chris Dilks story. http://www.sbncollegehockey.com/2014/10/10/6959549/jared-bethune-signs-with-whl-prince-george-cougars-minnesota-duluth-commit-lincoln-stars-ushl

I don't mind the greens at all the Wild look very good tonight the Parise/Granlund/Pominville line has been in complete control whenever they are on the ice. As for Colorado they look like they still think this is some preseason throw away game. 5-0 after 2 and 5 different goal scorers 38-13 on the shots.

It had been speculated before on here but Schlossman just tweeted that Charlie Pelnik is no longer committed to UND which is probably best for both sides. Brad E. Schlossman @SchlossmanGF 10m10 minutes ago Cowichan Capitals say that D Charlie Pelnik is no longer committed to UND. He was one of UND's youngest commits at age 15.

Omaha lost their exhibition last night 4-0 to NAIT. I know it is only an exhibition but Minnesota played this team and beat them 5-0 it could be a long year for Omaha.
-
With the chemistry Caggiula and Schmaltz had last night I would be very surprised to see them split up and I like having the two most talented forwards on the team on the same line.
-
Looks like he is a defenseman and has played for Grand Rapids bantam AA the last couple years. He was drafted in the USHL futures draft by Dubuque.

I thought Sanderson was decent brought some speed and seemed to be around the puck quite a bit when he was on the ice. I was a little surprised at Poganski's quickness for his size and thought he was decent along the wall. Also looked like he wasn't afraid to go to the net but I'd like to see him play a little more physical and think that will come as he gets stronger. I thought the MacMillan line created some good chances in the first period controlling the puck in the offensive zone but after that didn't create all that much but I'm not too worried about those guys.

I think Poolman will be the odd man out Friday night but wouldn't be surprised to see him Saturday for somebody. As for the forwards I'd guess we see pretty much the same lineup as tonight but with St.Clair replacing Sanderson for Friday.

Caggiula

Some thoughts after 1 exhibition game: -Nick Schmaltz is as good as advertised probably the best hands since Oshie and really seems to have some great chemistry with Caggiula -There will be competition for the 5th/6th D spot all year but I liked the physical game that Ausmus brought tonight and hope we see a lot of him this season -Love the way the d-men aren't afraid to jump up in the play and the offensive threats we have on the back end -Overall team speed seems to be very good maybe the best it has been in a while -He didn't have a whole lot of tough stops but Zane looked like he picked up where he left off last year and Johnson looks to be the backup at least for now and was solid in his 1 period of work -I liked the increase movement on the powerplay and think that could be a big area of improvement this year -I think there are probably 8 forward spots locked up(MacMillan,Parks,OD,Caggiula,Schmaltz,Johnson,Pattyn,Gaarder) and the other 4 spots will be a consistent battle but I liked the way Chyzk, Murphy, and Poganski played tonight.
-
I know it is only 1 game but Schmaltz brought a lot of things tonight that Grimaldi never did. Schmaltz seems to have a lot more hockey sense and is much better at waiting that extra split second for things to open up rather than trying to force something. The only thing that Grimaldi has over Schmaltz is he is a little bit quicker skater.
-
IMO yes and it isn't all that close.
-
Jensen robs Nick Schmaltz again and has made some real nice saves since he has come in keeping the game a lot closer than it probably should be.
-
J.Schmaltz from N.Schmaltz and Mattson on the 4 on 3 powerplay.
-
You get an idea just how good Nick Schmaltz's hands are with a catch and move like that.
-
The top 2 lines have looked pretty solid so far and definitely skilled. One thing that stood out to me in the first period was the team speed it seems like at least a few guys have gained a couple steps since the end of last season.
