University of North Dakota Hockey 2014-15 season
SiouxScore replied to Frozen4sioux's topic in Men's Hockey
I think you are pretty much alone on that feeling. Almost every Gopher fan I have talked to hates the BTHC and wishes they were still in the old WCHA. -
Saw the Twins offered Hughes a chance to pitch an inning out of the bullpen to get the out this weekend but he declined.
-
Texas Tech's were horrible you couldn't even really tell what the logo was during the game, I kinda like the OSU helmets.
-
No surprise Casey Mittelstadt commits to Minnesota.
-
Very well could be accurate though and I believe he was the first one to have Voltin off the commit list last year. I would not be surprised at all if Pelnik was no longer a commit.
-
I've mentioned Mittelstadt and have heard very good things about him and the way he has played in the elite league. He played bantams for Eden Prairie last year so this will be his first varsity season but based on how he has performed in elite league I would be surprised if he isn't receiving interest from a lot of top programs.

Definitely looks like it will be up to Bridgewater and the passing game to produce points for this offense as the running game has been virtually non-existent the last 2 games against a couple teams who weren't real great against the run in their previous games.
-
Horrible penalty call on Munnerlynn there and it is a gamechanger as the drive is extended and the Saints take advantage and score. Munnerlynn had Brees wrapped up and threw him to the ground if the ref doesn't want that to happen all he has to do is blow the whistle when Brees gets wrapped up otherwise it is a guessing game for the defense. Then they allow Brees to jump up in someones face and shove him but refs think that's okay because QBs are harmless.

I watched the Minnesota game and they had a redshirt freshman QB making his first start and they definitely tried to protect him from mistakes and he did run for 160 yards. He did have a couple nice throws that were dropped and one would have been about a 40 yard touchdown. They ran for 383 yards on SJSU and really didn't have many situations where they needed to throw the ball yesterday.
-
Jameis looked like "Oh you guys were actually serious about that suspension thing I thought you wanted to win"
-
The Miami and Nebraska game is a lot of fun to watch very intense and chippy with a number of scrums.
-
Mississippi State hangs on to beat LSU 34-29 intercepting the last second hail mary attempt Nebraska leads Miami 34-24 in the 4th
-
Minnesota beat SJSU 24-7 and did end up completing one pass for 7 yards.
-
Minnesota has not completed a pass 0-6 1 int but leads San Jose St. 17-7 with a weather delay with 11:38 left in the 4th and if not for a couple of Gopher turnovers inside the SJSU 10 it wouldn't even be that close.

Brad E. Schlossman @SchlossmanGF · 10h EGF's Dixon Bowen, expected to play before and after prep season with Fargo, gets an assist tonight in Fall Classic. Yon assist. CPoolman +2

I'd be surprised if they haven't already been offered the real battle for them will be to try to keep them from the CHL.
-
I don't think so but it would be great to have Oettinger be the first.
-
Would love to land Jake Oettinger as the goalie of the future he was great in the state tournament last year for Lakeville North. Matthews could also be a very good player and I would love to have him at UND but wouldn't be surprised to see him in the CHL.
-
Casey Mittelstadt a Soph. from Eden Prairie is another player to watch and has been playing very well in the Elite League.
-
Vikings release Jerome Simpson who was already serving a 3 game suspension after his latest misdemeanor charge of marijuana possession and driving with an open bottle.
-
http://www.hselitehockey.com/ should just be able to scroll down for league leader stats and if you click on to the different teams you can see each individual players stats.
-
No but in this case I wouldn't really worry about it there aren't too many Minnesota high school kids that have committed to any college and then opted for CHL.

Yeah you gotta be hoping for a complete game from the starter every game with the way the Tigers bullpen has been.
