I vote unrelated (per SFI retweet)

I'm really surprised that Kolpack hasn't chimed in on this yet. He seems to have a pulse on NDSU recruiting, plus he always has a comment or two on things related to UND. I would imagine he would have been all over this if it were UND offering scholarships to NDSU's walk-on's a couple weeks before camp started. Would love to hear the spin explanation on this one.

By what measure? This one? Or this one?

Yes Everyone got a little of something. UND got $10M to offer research and degree programs in western ND. As for capital projects, the $38.5M (cheapest) option was chosen for the School of Medicine and UND also received $4.3M for law school renovations. Regarding the med school, it looks like a new 42,300 square foot building will be put up in what is now the parking lot on the corner of University/6th.

Don't like that sound of that.

Wal-Mart proposing second Grand Forks location

Not sure that is entirely correct. Not sure on interstate interchanges, but wasn't Grandstrand against expanding Columbia Rd despite the city engineers analysis? -
Even an hour would be an improvement. Might be something that works better for the last three games (1-3pm starts) vs. the first three (6-7pm starts).

UND Tailgate Village Have not seen this previously but it appears others have with Montana being sold out and two other games close to it (for the tents). Great idea for getting different businesses and groups out for tailgating and the game.

Are you trying to send out the bat signal to a certain writer in the southern red river valley or something?
-
I'm pretty sure that was the Divide Trophy that Montana/Montana State play for every year. I believe the conference trophies are fairly similar to what we are used to seeing unless they are planning a rebrand of those as well.

Reading comprehension must not be your strong suit. The comment was "UND was the better team that year and for a majority of years the two teams played". Having a better head to head record (by a good margin) backs that up. National championships have nothing to do with the comment made and are a completely different argument. As to your comment what success is based on: Seems that would mean a certain school was basing their season on one game...

In the past, Big Sky games have been available on webcast for free. Quality was fairly good at most venues, definitely watchable. Not sure if this will continue, but I haven't heard otherwise.

While I don't know for sure, I would guess that the conference logo would be painted on the turf rather than a permanent piece.

Good thing you saved all that money on not renewing your season tickets Dave, maybe you can use the funds to buy yourself a clue... -

So you proclaim you would have been a sore winner, have proven to be a sore loser and admitted that you say things that you don't mean or won't follow through on. Sounds about par for the course. And if you don't think you were rude, over the top or obnoxious, you need to go back and look at your posts from a neutral perspective. -
Not quite game-worn, but I was in the Sioux Shop yesterday and they had a rack of game worn practice jersey's for $49.23. Multiple colors to choose from (black, green, orange, red, etc.) All had the Sioux logo on the front of them and showed various signs of wear and tear.

I don't know who said it, I believe it was a personal, off-the-cuff remark to someone and I don't have the exact quote, but I don't think it is all that much of a stretch: When asked about the threat of people claiming they won't donate any more money if the name/logo is no longer, the response was something along the lines of it would have actually make a difference if those people that are threatening to not give money any more to have given some in the first place. -

Jerseys are the wrapping on the product that I spend my money on. The jerseys/nicknames/logos don't perform or compete on the court/field/rink, the players wearing them do. If your think articles of clothing are the product, you should probably start frequenting fashion shows instead of sporting events. -

So now it doesn't even matter what the team is called, it is just what they are wearing? Good thing you aren't a fan of Oregon football. -

So who did you cheer for in January? Because it wasn't the Fighting Sioux. The nickname was retired. There was no Fighting Sioux team, just the University of North Dakota. Yet here you are... -
I agree, was just trying to visual what would go on the jersey's and uniforms.
-
Interesting. The logo could be some sort of shield/crest with references to the state's/University's history. If done right, I could see that being a possibility.

When all insclusive "sports" start only referring to football? Maybe you did know what you were talking about, but there are enough people that can't/don't differentiate that football is the only NCAA Division 1 sport with two classifications.

As someone else stated, Port is only moving on because the UND nickname is no good to him in his fight against higher ed anymore. The cross hairs will be back on UND eventually in that battle. The history and traditions will remain and not be forgotten. The future remains bright.
