  1. Well you aren't 50, my guess is closer to 20 so why did you pick the last 50 years other than someone had already done the math. Do you need someone to do the math on the series record during your lifetime for you? (hint, you aren't going to like it) Also, I'm not insinuating that NDSU's national championships aren't impressive, they are. But the fact that the time frame for games against UND always needs to be edited is always amusing.
  2. Why is it that NDSU fans are so proud of their history, but when it comes to records against UND, the timeframe is always limited? Are you proud of your history or only part of it? Seems like a lot of cherry picking. Also, I see you decided to parrot your whole response from what other people taught you on bisonville the last day or two.
  3. I would agree with you. But would it have anywhere close to the significance and meaning that it does to anyone on this site if it wasn't related to the University of North Dakota? The answer is no, not even close. There are many pieces of art work/drawings/paintings/etc that are equally as strong and proud as Ben Brien's, but the feelings on his are so strong because of what it is tied to. And that is what is important, what made Brien's artwork so popular, the University of North Dakota. The fact that some can't see past that is absolutely bewildering and borderline ridiculous.
  4. Fully aware, just wanted to see what random direction he went with.
  5. Just curious where the University of North Dakota fits into your equation? You seem to never be concerned on what may happen to them. Can't be coincidence that you fail to mention what will happen to the school...
  6. Figures. Wouldn't expect someone like you to keep your word. Keep grasping at straws, it is over.
  7. Time to stay true to your word Fetch, the lawsuit is tossed. Like it or not, it is time to move on.
  8. You understand that UND is a VOLUNTARY member of an organization that allows its member to vote on its policies right? UND had a vote on this, but were outvoted to institute the policy on Native American imagery. The NCAA isn't a couple of guys sitting in offices in Indianapolis making up rules as they go, it is made up of member schools and all of these schools decide the rules. Dave has already claimed this is similar to murder, you probably should quit planting ideas in his head...
  9. I will second this. Great area and great people. Looking forward to going down there again in February.
  10. I was thinking NORTH in one end zone and DAKOTA in the other but North Dakota in both is fine. I also assumed Alerus Center logos would be opposite the Big Sky logos on the 25 with the interlocking ND on the 50. I'm wondering if they don't have the capabilities to add the midfield logo after the fact, though it might look funny with the Alerus Center logos there. The center of the field looks bare.
  11. As always, follow the money or in this case, take a game to where the money is.
  12. NDSU athletics had no problem dropping their 20+ year partnership with Innovis for the money. A few years earlier than the contract called for if I recall correctly. Those donations don't come without strings and it is up to the individual school to decide if they are worth it.
  13. What crime is it that the NCAA is committing? How many times do you need to be told that they are a private organization in which the member institutions make the rules (one of which is UND)? Their game, their rules. Just because you don't like something or you think it isn't fair doesn't make it a crime.
  14. Good weather will be key. Good chance of rain in the morning, hopefully it clears up before noon and people come out.
  15. Does that tie up 7 scholarships in the junior-to-be class? If that is the case, that really ups expectations as you can see a fall-off coming in a couple years.
  16. These two things are separate issues, quit inferring they are tied together.
  17. Sure seems that you only care about one of those two things.
  18. If that is the case, once the name changes you should rent out the Purpur and dress up a bunch of beer league guys in Fighitng Sioux jerseys. Using your logic, it would easily be a sellout since people are there to cheer for the nickname/logo, not what they are representing.
  19. Who is the one turning their back on heritage? In one breathe you say UND would be doing it to change the nickname, in the next you are saying you don't care about what happened if it happened before you were born? You obviously don't care about history and heritage unless it was from your lifetime. Newsflash for you, the traditions and pride of the University of North Dakota started well before you showed up and they will continue to go on and become stronger as time goes on, no matter what nickname or logo they use. You are the last one who should be trying to lecture people about respecting traditions and pride in something when it is obvious that your end game is one that benefits whatever makes you happy, not what is best for the University of North Dakota.
  20. And this is why people don't take you seriously. Which part of the name came first? The University of North Dakota or Fighting Sioux? Which part of the name has never changed? University of North Dakota or the nickname that comes after it? Which part of the name will always be the same? (Hint, the answer is University of North Dakota for all three). The fact that you continue to think that changing a team's nickname means that it ceases to exists despite nothing else change is absurd. Again, UND won titles as the Flickertails and those are still counted the same as those won as the Fighting Sioux. How many NCC football titles do you credit to the football team? 22 or 24? Or should it be split again since some of those 22 were won as the Sioux and and some as the Fighting Sioux? Just because that happened before you were alive doesn't mean it didn't happen. This is infinitely times bigger than you and what you stand for, quite trying to pretend it is not.
  21. People might had similar feelings as those two, but the difference came when there started to be actual evidence of harm. This is what seemed to change most people's mind. The two you cite have openly said that they would rather lose the athletic department than the nickname and most people realize that is a very extreme position that a rational person would not support. Knowing when to cut your losses is not a hypocritical stance. When actual evidence of harm comes forward rather than vague possible actions, a change in opinion is defendable.
  22. First off, having the athletic department alive and well is what is important to people, not the nickname. And historical references will continue to be around, there will be no turning of backs on UND's proud history. I have not once seen an instance where the NCC titles won as the Flickertails count less than those won as the Sioux or Fighting Sioux. Can you show me an instance where that is the case? As for your analogy, it is not even close. No one is telling UND they can't play football, basketball, hockey, etc (rock music in your analogy). No one is forcing them to change what they do or who they represent. They saying it is best for them to change names. This has nothing to do with what they do. Things change, accept it.
  23. Spoken like someone who lives in their own reality and only cares about what immediately impacts them personally with no regard for others.
  24. And people would laugh at UND for trying to stand up to an organization of which they are a voluntary member of. The sanctions and penalties are and where clearly spelled out. People wouldn't and shouldn't feel sorry for UND for having to forfeit if they clearly went against what they agreed to and knew what would happen if they didn't follow that.
