UNDSports.com Press Release
-
UND hosts USD in 2016 and travels to Vermillion in 2017. UND travels to Missouri St in 2014 (previously known) and they play a return game in 2018. UND also hosts Drake in 2015 (previously known). Faison is doing an excellent job filling out the schedule! Edit: UND travels to USD in 2017, not 2018.

I believe this to be correct, but he hasn't used his redshirt year yet, so he will have 2 years of playing time left after sitting out a year. He should be a pretty solid player, did well in UMKC's offense which wasn't anything to write home about.

What kind of shape are your WBB and VB programs in right now? Has your women's AD been suspended lately? Glass houses Dan... The recent coaching changes and push to get the IPF built show that the results aren't acceptable and things are being done to change it.
-
Even with the fee, quite a bit cheaper than last time they sold these. Good deal for those interested.
-
A lot of those "non-scholarship" teams offer many types of academic aid/scholarships instead of athletic scholarships. They are also able lure some pretty good athletes with their academics as well.

Not sure what there is to expand on this? A FU troll hopped into the discussion with the intent of changing the subject. Don't blame him, just calling a spade a spade. And as of now, only one of the charges has been dropped and it was dropped rightly so in my opinion. The resisting charge hasn't been dropped. But the spin and defense on this has become comedic. -"The guys followed him outside and jumped him". I would agree that they followed him outside, except it was because he told them "let's take it f'ing oustide" and Beck was the first one out the door. He admitted he challenged the guy to go fight outside. -"He wasn't drunk, he possibly had a head injury" which explains some of his behavior. It is possible, but he was waiting for his DD, so he had been drinking. And he was taken to the hospital and released after being checked out, unless they missed his concussion or just let him go without caring. -"He resisted because he didn't want to be taken in cuffs in front of people he knew at the Drunken Noodle". Plausible, but if so, why did he walk that way cuffed before the police had to come chase him down just a few minutes before that? He voluntarily put himself in view of those people and ended up making a scene because the cops had to chase him down. Who knows, maybe the defenses are all accurate, but from the information that has been made public, it is a pretty tough pill to swallow. Another thing that sticks out and I haven't seen addressed is that he was just randomly hassled by these guys. Yet in the cop car, Beck said he was hitting on a girl "out of his league". The only girl that I've seen in any videos was described one of the other guy's girlfriends. Is that who Beck was talking with and what could have been part of the whole issue they were having with him? Honest question and might explain why Beck was being hassled by the guys. Edit: Just to meake it clear: I don't think Beck should have been arrested, maybe a disorderly conduct at most only if it would have been given to everyone in the fight. But he admitted he agreed to fight the guy and that puts some blame on him regardless.

Another attempt from a FU fan to steer the conversation away from yet another player making headlines for all the wrong reasons...
-
How do you Beck had any intention of walking away? He apparently had no trouble "taking it f'ing outside." Your scenario is quite the assumption based on not a whole lot of evidence on what the argument was about including zero audio of what happened inside.
-
75% or so. Scholarships cost the NDSU athletic department a reported $3 million in 2012 and I believe Teammakers donated around $2.3 million towards that.
-
They did something similar at the All-American Lounge (formerly Playmakers) at the Canad-Inn
-
Who was the girl in the video? The one he was talking to? She seemed to be in the middle of the argument inside and outside. Was she the girlfriend of one of the two guy's? Wasn't it reported that the one of their girlfriend's gave a statement? Honest questions. Same girl or two different ones?
-
Picked up a couple last time and built some wood legs for them and have them in my basement. Pretty cool to show off when people see them.
-
Travis Beck is now an anti-bullying poster boy? I think I've now heard it all...
-
He was a willing participant in the fight, I'm not sure how you can say he wasn't when he admitted he was? "Let's take it f'ing outside." is not defusing the situation nor the comment of an unwilling victim. It was two guys hyped up and taking trash talking too far, getting in a drunken fight. Not much more, not much less. Can't argue too much with that.
-
That's what you say the video shows. Another view is that they are still jawing back and forth and the girl is in the middle trying to break it up. I don't think anyone is herded back anywhere. Without seeing what happened in the alley or having any audio, its speculation either way. Regardless, he admitted he agreed with the guy to go out and fight. He is not a victim nor blameless, though I will reiterate he does not appear to be guilty of the aggravated assault that was rightly dropped. I also hadn't see the part where he comes from the alley in handcuffs, turns the corner and takes off halfway down the block (right around the 4 minute mark). A few minutes later he doesn't look very cooperative as the cop is bringing him out of the alley (just before the 6 minute mark). I can see why he was charged with resisting/fleeing at that point in time.
-
Just curious, was the girl in the restaurant footage described as one of the other guys' girlfriend (the one standing between the guys as they are jawing back and forth)? Was that the girl he was trying to talk to that "was out of his league"? Gee, maybe not agree that they should take the fight outside (Beck's own admission) and then proceed to do so? Not exactly what I would call defending yourself.
-
He also seems to understand that being charged with resisting arrest for the second time (or "going around the corner for some air" as he called it) isn't going to go over well.
-
No doubt the aggravated assault charges should have been dropped. But I think it is a pretty big stretch that Beck has all of the sudden become the victim. He didn't leave the restaurant to escape the situation. He wasn't followed into the alley and jumped like some of the faithful are claiming. The other guy said let's take it outside and Beck said OK. That is straight from his mouth. Seems like he was a willing participant in the fight to me. Again, no grounds for aggravated assault charges but he was no "victim" in the indicident.
-
Regardless of what happens with the resisting arrest charge?
-
You could very well be right and I wouldn't be surprised. My only thought is that this incident falls under the "violence" category that GT/Bohl have said is unexcusable. The prosecutors did not say he was innnocent, they said they didn't feel they could prove he was guilty of the assault while also proving he wasn't acting in self-defense. Big difference and point being, he was still out drinking and got in a fight at 2 in the morning and then on top of it, resisted arrest, the second time the police have felt the need to charge him with that charge.
-
Getting in a fight and charged with resisting arrest (still pending at this moment) even without the assault charges? Since it isn't his first offense, I could see a game or two.
-
Aggravated assault charge is dropped as they are not sure they can fully prove he is guilty of aggravated assault while also disproving that he acted in self-defense. Up to the city prosecutor to pursue the resisting arrest charge if they wish and it is still pending and has not been dropped as of the news conference. I don't see them continuing with it, though this the second time he has been charged with that. Still not sure he gets off without some suspension from NDSU being that he was still involved in a fight and it brought a large amount of negative press to NDSU.

No brainer buy if it is at the Betty. Not a chance if it is at the Ralph.

I don't think we will see a huge influx of recruits from out west, I see the staff continuing to focus on the Midwest. But I think that those games out west are attractive to recruits. It will be pretty nice for the coaching staff to go into a living room this summer/fall and say here are a couple games we'll be playing your junior and senior season.
