    Fire Muss

Took under 20 minutes for this to make it on FU's board as a fact.

    Fire Muss

An NDSU troll made that claim. Do you really think there is any way that is accurate? With only about 15 or so scholarships available per year, they offer 30x that amount? Claims like that are thrown against the wall, brought up once or twice more and they somehow stick and become fact to FU trolls.
  3. Maybe you should look into donating what you spend on internet each month to starving children. Seems like a win for everyone involved.
  4. Most people are already spending that money on an expanded package for their cable or satellite in order to get FCS. I believe Midco's ran around $6/month before taxes, which is $72, just short of what the annual subscription your talking about costs.

    Fire Muss

Mussman won't be fired midseason (for more than one reasons) regardless of what happens the rest of the year so it doesn't really matter.
  6. Not sure how many times this has to be said, but D-II is still under the NCAA umbrella and we would have had to change it or continue to face sanctions. If you would have rather been stuck under sanction and in the sinking ship that is D-II, I can't help you there.
  7. Yeah, but WDAZ didn't have a penalty clock!! Also, whole lot of dreaming and wishful thinking in your post.
  8. Definitely some mugshots available for giant cardboard head cut-outs... My guess is they control the crowd and what is going on behind them easier from this location. Agree that it is a little strange though. My guess was they were going to use Newman Field.
  9. Has already been confirmed by multiple sources including the NDSU athletic department.
  10. Has definitely caused quite a meltdown which is entertaining though I'd much rather argue about that than the job status of our FB coach.
  11. Being broadcast live from the Fargodome downtown Fargo...
  12. There is at least 2 guys playing hurt right now and it shows big time. When healthly, those guys don't get beat like a drum. What concerns me is their back-ups must not be capable of playing better than an injured starter. Adams getting dinged up in spring ball was another blow. I didn't think that UND's O-line would be an issue, but even playing average would be a step-up from where they are playing. Mollberg and Bartells along with the RB's don't have a chance. No clue where to even start with the defense. Good game plan by UM. Know that UND will be selling out to stop the run and probably worked on that all week and proceed to just throw the ball all game instead. Not that it would have mattered but maybe had they ran it it would have shortened the game and they wouldn't have scored so many points.
  13. While that is huge for them, it has absolutely zero to do with this conversation.
  14. 1. UND has one vote, the same as everyone else. 2. How much leverage do you think a startup college hockey conference actually has? 3. How does it compare to the WCHA's TV contract? And other conferences outside of the B1G?
  15. I think you would have been much more disappointed in a watered down WCHA where the "have-nots" would have all the sudden had the majority vote.
  16. Anyone attend the Fan Luncheon today and hear what Muss had to say? Was unable to make it.
  17. UND may need to use the short passing game as an extension of the run game. Not ideal, but Montana's front 7 is very good. Hopefully Jackson can cause some serious match-up issues from the slot with either a slower LB or a smaller DB.
  18. Exposure is important but you need to also take into account the financial implications which some people continue to ignore.
  19. I'm not as informed on the whole FTA landscape as you are, or anywhere close for that matter, though a few years back I did look quite a bit into them. That aside, Jayson did respond to that comment saying that he was going off of information from what someone in the industry had told him and apologized for what may have been bad information. I think we're pretty lucky that he is willing to come on to a board where he takes a lot of heat, directly and indirectly, and does his best to explain and inform the die-hard fans that frequent this board. My thought is the first webcast or two are going to be a disappointment as I think Nuelion will truly underestimate the resources they will need to dedicate to this. Once they get it figured out, I believe it will be fine. Maybe not HD quality, but at least equal to what the majority of people were getting on FCS. These guys handle NFL, NBA, NHL and CFL games along with streaming for quite a few major colleges. Again, that is a disappointment for the FTA people, but I agree with Jayson that you can please some of the people some of the time, but you can't please all of the people all of the time.
  20. I just hope he plays like he did last week. My guess is he came out feeling like there was nothing to lose. Hopefully he stays in that mind frame and doesn't start second guessing himself, which will lead to mistakes. His instincts are great, he needs to go with them.
  21. UND also showed how strong those vaunted MVFC defense can be. Apparently the forward pass hasn't made it to that part of the country yet. Move your trolling elsewhere...

    2013 Season

Kind of like wondering how many times Joe Schobert would have stuffed Zenner last week.
  23. He did. Demler and Comes both left the team after 1 and 2 years respectively and Bradley only made it one year. There was a QB in each class (excluding a redshirt) in 2011. Two of those QB's graduated, 2 left the program. That is where the hole occured. And after how the last JuCo experience went, I see why Mussman didn't try again. A guy like Hanson is a very rare occurence. Here's what the QB roster has looked like since 2009: 2009 Landry - Jr Goska - So Hendrickson - RFr Nichols - RFr Townsend - Fr 2010 Landry - Sr Goska - Jr Nichols - So Hendrickson - So Demler - Fr Comes - Fr 2011 Goska - Sr Hendrickson - Jr Bradley - So Comes - RFr 2012 B. Hanson - Sr Hendrickson - Sr Bartels - Fr J. Hanson - Fr Mollberg - Fr 2013 Bartels - RFr J. Hanson - RFr Mollberg - RFr Riddle - Fr (has left team) Palendech - Fr QB's recruited by year: 2009 - 1 2010 - 2 2011 - 0 2012 - 3 2013 - 2
  24. If Mollberg plays a terrible first half, I wouldn't be surprised at all to see Bartels come out and start the second half. And at some point, a coach assumes that one of the two separates himself. And Jake Hanson has nothing to do wtih the conversation. He was not in the conversation as a starter (1A and 1B). Muss is getting hammered (rightfully so) for sticking with Miller at RB, which isn't working. But you want him to do that exact same thing at QB. I'm not saying they should rotate, but if one of them is absolutely not getting it done, why are you going to leave him out there when the other guy offers a slightly different skill set that may translate better. Bring him in and let him finish the game. As I keep saying, these guys are young and barely have any game experience above college, the coaches aren't real sure what they have. They need to have real playing time to see which one will be "the guy".
  25. Muss didn't do last game what he did last year. Last year he tried rotating quarterbacks, it didn't work. This year, he pulled a struggling freshman to see what the other freshman could provide. Seemed to provide a spark. Bartels didn't come back in once Mollberg was on the field. If you can't see the difference then I can't help you. So your logic is once camp is over, the depth chart is set and it shouldn't change?
