  1. They all also had career completion percentages between 61-65% and not 56% like Murray's QB. Stick and Lance were freak athletes for Qb's as well. Not arguing a stretching the field down the seams or running more tempo seems like it would help but Tommy having a 67% career completion rate and his decision making is what makes the offense work. Get off schedule and it we have a lot more games that look like UNI.
  2. That makes a lot more sense. Given some of the other nonsense, it's tough to not what half the posts mean anymore.
  3. Lol. Thinking Tommy and the offense was the problem at all today. They punted once. 18-23 for 279 and 5 TD's against a poor defense vs. 19-36 and 3 TD's against a defense that was allergic to covering, getting pressure and tackling today You underestimated what was going to happen that last drive but just a little bit. What does this even mean? Interview new coaches every off season? Who in the world would sign up for that, coaches or players. But for real, defensive effort is very concerning the last 6 quarters. Pressure can't get home, tackling not there and questionable coverage and committing of penalties (though a few at the end were brutal). McNaboe missing doesn't help. Need to clean that up fast. At least the offense looked good today. I'd bet the over next week.
  4. Think this is accurate. Seidl can play the season out. Tai might have to sit one to keep his redshirt.
  5. The timeout was fine, it was the refs adding 4 or 5 seconds back to the clock that was the issue. Not sure how that happens.
  6. Heard they took a trip on the bourbon trail.
  7. One can only hope the line stays there until it comes out....
  8. Anyone taking his posts seriously says more about them than it does the basketball program.
  9. Not arguing those points because they are all 100% valid. Subscriptions cost more than cable these days to watch what you want. Stuff like the Iowa game is the same regardless of what the Summit is doing. They did it because Midco is actually paying them, requiring minimum broadcasts and now all Summit games will be televised (instead of being on whichever platform the home team had, if they even had one). Fenton set up a very successful model that was the same thing with the NCHC and the schools with larger fan bases actually see some return on it. Also, getting away from ESPN allowed them to move the championship, so no more Tuesday night championship game on ESPNU, instead they will have some flexibility on when that can be played. I know one of the big complaints is the Monday/Tuesday finish for semis/finals. If it flops or they get enough negative feedback, ESPN will take them back for the exact same deal they were getting.
  10. USD beat ISU 17-3 (tied 3-3 at halftime). And UNI was down 17-14 to ISU in the 3rd quarter before winning 27-20. We'll see what happens when Illinois St plays Murray next weekend to complete the other half of the equation you skipped over. Who know what is going to happen, it is almost like that's why they play the games.
  11. Dabo Swinney had some pretty interesting comments the other day as he compared expectations and appreciation. Now UND is not Clemson by any stretch of the imagination, but his basic point is that some people are able to balance both having expectations while still having appreciation for successes when they do happen (obviously there are multiple levels of those successes). Others are so focused on their own internal expectations (over something they have no control over) that they don't bother to have appreciation for any sort of success or minimize it because it "isn't enough". It wasn't a deflection either, as Dabo also took full responsibility for Clemson having a down year, at a place that has basically unlimited resources. "Listen, man, you can have your opinion all you want, and you can apply for the job. And good luck to you." https://www.espn.com/college-football/story/_/id/38783508/clemson-dabo-swinney-rips-caller-appreciation In the end, we all want the same success for the program. Everyone just has their own outlook on what that looks like and what's worth celebrating.
  12. Hey man, once you win a few Natties on NCAA 2014, get promoted to Madden head coach and win a few Super Bowls there, then you can give your expert opinion.
  13. Massey predicts 37-17. Sagarin has UND as a 17 point road favorite. A 50-0 game would be well outside any of the computer models.
  14. Exactly. On the road against a team no one knows anything about other than NDSU voted against them joining the MVFC, they have a solid basketball program and UND should win.
  15. Nice deflection, you were asked to follow up on what you said and everyone watched you trip over yourself hiding from it. Going to be a nice morning for tailgating and a good day to get back on track. Not expecting a WIU type score, ISU can sustain some drives. Need to get up on them early and not give them any hope. Hoping for a 3-4 score game before the starters are out.
  16. Part of it depends on how the USD/SDSU game goes this Saturday but running the table definitely puts UND back in the conversation for a seed. Sagarin and Massey continue to rate UND favorably and it sounds like some of the non-biased polls are going to carry a little more weight this year.
  17. Quit making lame excuses, blaming other people and just admit you were never actually going to followup with your "threat" to show off your CV/resume and move on. No one actually believed that you would follow through on something and now you're just looking worse by refusing to own up to it.
  18. Hopefully you know someone at Altru, you might have gotten hurt back pedaling that fast. Pretty impressive tail turn quickly shifted into blaming others.
  19. Continuing to argue against things no one actually believes.....
  20. Sad that you are already lining up your talking points for the offseason. The fact that you think that is something that needs to be debated for months, let alone years, is kind of mind-boggling.
  21. Him and any freshman can play the rest of the season (outside of Tai, who can only play 3 of the next 4 and keep his redshirt) Rucker's shirt is burned at this point as well.
  22. No disagreement from me. They should have put him in earlier than they did. You're arguing against comments no one has made. Find me the people who are perennially OK with 7-4 or 5-6 every season. They don't exist except in your made up arguments. Also, 2 weeks ago one of your biggest issues with the staff was that they couldn't win a big game (i.e. NDSU). Now that they did it, it's just a blip on the radar. No one is pretending that is the end goal, but it was a big step for the program and checked one of the boxes on your list. "Jobs on the line" is a relative term. If AD's had the knee jerk reaction of the average message board poster, they would be so far in debt from buyouts and have no one willing to apply for the job.
  23. Agreed, we don't. Also, going to assume the coaches have a more educated guess. It's literally their jobs on the line. They care more about wins and loses than the rest of us, particularly the ones that played here or have other ties. 7-4 is the current minimum bar this season (barring an epic meltdown) with 8-3 in play if they can win of those games that had mostly eluded them looming in Vermilion. Knowing that, I have a hard time thinking a QB change is the right play. That being said, there should've a realistic chance to see some backup play from 2-3 qb's the next two weeks. Maybe something pops?
  24. I mean, he's the one at the line, checking into plays/making the decisions on the RPO, handing it off or throwing to WR's. Not what you were insinuating but does a QB without the experience he has make the right decision or even get that latitude? Not in most systems.
  25. Was curious about the road issues, so dug a little deeper. Went back to 2018, which counting this year, is about 5 full seasons worth (given 2021 spring season was less than a full season). Total Record: 9-22 (gross) FBS Games: 0-4 FCS vs. Top 5 opponents: 1-7 FSC vs. Top 6-15 opponents: 0-2 FCS vs. Top 16-25 opponents: 0-4 FCS vs. Unranked opponents: 8-5 Pull out FBS, and Top 15 opponents, where very few programs are going to have a super high winning percentage on the road, and the record is 8-9. That's the area that shouldn't be that hard to improve. Not sure what a realistic winning percentage in that category is but probably around 75% or higher. Take care of the low hanging fruit, and then the other ones become more attainable. Don't blow MSU and hold on at SIU and USD two years ago and you're already getting pretty close.
