Who said the throw was perfect? It got the job done though, right over the d-backs. The whole point is Wes was never streaking down the field wide open like you said. Tommy had time (nice job OL), waited for his read, got it and threw the ball when he had it. Wes was running right at the safety until he broke up to come at Bo and leave Wes that open. Sounds like it was a well designed play that was going to have two options depending on what choice the safety made. If he throws it earlier, the safety is still in position to break it up. There are other Qb's who have stronger arms. But most of them aren't going to make the read, have the patience to let out develop or have the accuracy to put it in a catchable spot.

He wasn't running free, the safety came up as Bo came across his face and Wes kept running to get behind him. Bo was 10ish yards from him when he caught it. Could the throw have been further? Yes. Was Wes streaking with everyone beat the whole play? Absolutely not.

Or more likely, Homecoming on 10/7.

No real disagreement but Nebraska did everything in their power to keep the throws short. It obviously worked. That being said, the overall stat line is still a QB rating of over 100. Plenty of other games have been won with worse stats. Singling that out and saying it was the reason UND lost that game is just another level to the bit.

You literally posted a stat line and proclaimed that was why UND lost a specific game. Now you are proceeding to proclaim stats don't tell the whole story. Not sure I'm following your logic, but I'm assuming that one actually tracks with the stats.

Resistance to what? I spoke to someone from UND and also the Alerus Center and both were looking for feedback on what was working and what needed to be improved. They want to make it the best they can. Just because they don't implement 100% of your ideas doesn't mean they don't care.

Don't think you need to go that high to get your answer but the answer is both. UND moved back to the MVCF for, among other reasons, regularly have regional rivals on the schedule as it clearly drives attendance. Plus, the team has been performing better. Both are helping attendance trend in the right direction. More than one thing can be true. Kind of like someone who can have valid points and continously also spend their time trolling and trying to detract from others trying to have actual discussions. Hypothetically of course.

Also managed to keep his back-up on campus the last few years (who flipped from his Old Dominion commitment), find a role for him and has created a pretty impressive QB room both on and off the field.

SDSU currently gets the pick of the litter and they have earned that on the court. I can assure you UND is looking at and trying to recruit local talent.

He definitely looks the part going into the season. Let's hope the simplified schemes lets him do less thinking and use his athleticism to his advantage.

Right or wrong, this would be the biggest hurdle. The facility is used for a lot more than just hockey games, interrupting that for a good chunk of a week would be an issue. Wonder if they couldn't find some happy medium like a holiday tournament of sorts when it would be less invasive. I know that the REA is always looking at ways to maximize the facility and revenue for it.

CBS Sports will actually be pretty minimal as well. Whatever games they pick up for hockey (usually 2-3 regular season) plus Frozen Faceoff and whatever UND games of the 6 (or 12) Summit League games they choose plus the Summit semi-finals (for women) and finals (for men and women).

This is the commentary I've heard from people who are more knowledgeable about the sport than I am. They have done wonders with the existing pieces they were working with and brought in some impressive athletes.

Between the upgrades that have been brought in and the talent on the bench coaching them and the girls that were already here, this team is ready to start making noise again. Looking forward to a fun season.

Football only memberships are pretty few and far between in FBS. I think Navy and Hawaii are currently the only FBS, football-only affiliates of conferences and they are both fairly specific cases. There aren't a whole lot of conferences just looking for a football member, it doesn't do much to benefit anyone.

I think a big or pass-first point guard is what people actually want.

AAC doesn't need to and the Dakota schools (individually or any combination of them) doesn't come close to adding $7 million per school value to the media contract. But that line of thinking could be what spurs some movement with some group down the road.

I'd disagree on the AAC being a mess. But regardless, why that won't happen in one picture: If they need to replace SMU, it will be with an all sports member to get back to an even 14. There is no amount of untapped revenue out there that makes trips to Fargo worth it.

I think your last comment is the most likely scenario. ACC must want to get into Texas for recruiting at some cost if they are looking at and SMU is apparently really pushing to get back to a P5 conference as they are reportedly offering to forego any revenue share for the first few years of joining a conference. So that's a move that could happen but don't see it causing a lot of dominos to continue to fall though. Maybe the AAC goes after one other school to get back to an even number? UTEP to add another Texas school?
