  1. As a whole, it absolutely is a zero-sum game. There are at least a handful of other programs who have very similar expectations as UND annually. You are literally making that point saying "other schools can do it, so can we". Well, if someone is winning NCAA titles every year, that means no one else is. There is only one national championship a year to be had. Competing for one annually vs. winning one annually are two completely different things. The last coach did a great job of that and there were plenty of people who wanted to run him out of town because he couldn't win the big one. They said they'd trade a few years of mediocrity for a title, similar to what some other programs had done.
  2. With current rules, never know when a kid might be looking for a different opportunity and having those relationships pre-built is never a bad thing.
  3. I believe the fall semester set a record for team GPA for the MIH program.
  4. Chaves.
  5. Nah, but it makes it hard to take the rest of the post seriously as comments like that make it appear that you have some sort of personal axe to grind beyond his coaching.
  6. Donate more money then instead of hoping everyone else does and complaining when it doesn't happen. You also failed to acknowledge 120+ episodes of "info" that you're looking for. But carry on.
  7. Yeah, that's not true. At all. Not sure where you hang out, but I see him at plenty of things. He also has a podcast with Heinart where he lays all kinds of the info you're looking for. There's a 127 episode backlog waiting for you. He's also extremely approachable. No one is arguing where it starts and I'm guessing if you ask Armacost, he'll let you know that he is laying out his vision and there's a reason he gave Chaves an extension last year. Sorry that doesn't fit with your narrative.
  8. This might be one of the dumber things I've read in a while.
  9. Doesn't seem like he'd move to take an FCS position coach (especially if he actually turned down Montana St) but maybe it's a possibility if he saw a chance to slide into an OC role in a few years...
  10. I get all that about who's going, who might stay, etc. My point was, on paper, losing what they are shouldn't be a good thing, it is a lot of talent. But based on how this year has went, maybe a big turnover isn't a bad thing.
  11. My overall point was that it is this year as well.
  12. I don't understand why, because on paper it shouldn't be the case, but might not be a bad thing...
  13. Very possible. They haven't posted for a Safeties/Secondary coach yet either though. Not sure on the timing of when an actual resignation has or hasn't been turned in either.
  14. It doesn't matter where he came from. The offense he brought and implemented was the exact opposite of "Bubba won’t touch anyone who could run things differently than him: narrow-minded in the twilight phase of his career." I also highly doubt your knowledge of the inner workings of the hiring process. Timing might force the issue on the new DC being an internal promotion. However that doesn't mean that things won't be run differently, even if they stick with the 3-4, which is very likely.
  15. Can't imagine where I got the idea that your original argument (second post above) was wrong and you actually were able to admit it. I mean, you literally admitted Bubba did exactly what you said he wouldn't when he hired Danny. If he was hired, just because JS is on staff doesn't mean he's going to run things the same way, even if he was to keep the 3-4. Whatever though, just continue beating your dead horses. Changing the world and all that.
  16. Glad you've already pivoted from your original comment given how it was incorrect and a made up argument, which was my original point.
  17. Feel free to explain to everyone how the OC who replaced the last one was more of the same.
  18. More made up arguments. You could actually be right on this, but not for the reasons you think.
  19. He's not going anywhere. Gobc can't afford the buyout.
  20. Who's saying anything different? Outside of a few who can't enjoy anything and need to downplay any sign of success or improvement of course.
  21. Conveniently left out the first win of the three in the row they've won. No one is pretending they've knocked off any world beaters. But they are winning close games and the ones they should. Like I said, some people aren't happy unless they or miserable. Or they find out that things aren't as black and white as they'd like to pretend. But continue to make ridiculous claims and argue things no one is saying.
  22. Gotta love how some people literally can't enjoy any sort of success or victory. How miserable does that have to be?
  23. Based on what? A very small minority of people who are still angry about who knows what? The process worked exactly as intended and laid out from the very beginning. There were multiple stop-guards in place to protect Grand Forks and allow the plug to be pulled on the project if an actual reason to do so came up. One did and it was immediately shutdown by the city council. The mayor following through with what he campaigned on, trying to grow the city economy, does not put him on the hot seat.
  24. And he'll leave and the program will likely fall back into the abyss because he didn't build anything. Look at Missouri State's FB program. Petrino tried to do the same thing before he bolted. And then bolted again a few weeks later. And MSU's football program is going to continue to struggle. Absolutely need to use the transfer portal to plug holes. But it isn't going to build into long-term success if that is the plan. What they are doing now isn't working either and they are trying to adjust. Easier said than done, otherwise it would work for everyone....
