Pretty fair guess considering he has USD, SDSU and NDSU in his pocket.

Give me an example of a player blowing out a knee in an overtime shootout (your exact example) otherwise, yes, it is a complete strawman argument. The matter of which they come about are different, however they still seem like they would be "a stain on the integrity of a team game". I mean there's no teamwork involved. (Yes I understand the ridiculousness of this point. Yes it was done intentionally to show how ridiculous some of these arguments, including this one, are). So you're completely worked about something that has not ever been considered, proposed or mentioned other than anyone but yourself? Wow. No, I'm telling you to learn to accept that you're in the minority on your opinion and also, apparently not whine about something that isn't on anyone's radar but you're own. It was strictly a tongue in cheek jab at the comment that shootouts are "a stain on the integrity of a team game". If that is apparently the moral fabric on which hockey is built, remove penalty shots and just give a power play.

Meh, better than a random message board poster (barely). You're assuming Douple is planning ahead, I disagree. The NCAA would also very likely issue extension/waivers as they have in the past as long as they Summit shows they have a plan to get back into compliance. And the issue there is....

It's an issue with the switch to the new website, they are working on coordinating the content. Talked to summertime in the athletic department recently, they are aware and working on getting it fixed.

Strawman argument, not relevant to the point, especially considering the unlikeliness of it happening based on how many shootouts there have been and how often you hear of someone blowing their knee out (none that I can find for the record). And I told you accept you are in the minority and deal with it. Penalty shots must be a stain on the integrity of a team game as well? Or are those excluded because a player might have had a breakaway? Another strawman argument....
-
You are in the minority. Accept that and it will help you understand why the majority of leagues are using a shootout. Because it's what the majority of fans want to see. Except for entertainment for the majority of people who paid for tickets.

I'm not aimlessly shouting praises either, but I've seen how much effort they put into promoting the program, so I'm not going to be aimlessly criticizing with absolutely zero information other than supposedly Midco asked about doing a show and knowing nothing else. I don't think anyone disagrees with your second point.
-
Without knowing any details outside of Midco supposedly asked about doing a show, I'm not going to get all bent out of shape. There is no one who does more to promote the football program than Bubba himself. On top of that, they did weekly 2-4 minute videos along that line through UND Insider in 2016, so it isn't like the whole thing is a foreign concept and that is the reason they weren't interested.
-
The offense performed almost identically in 2017 as it did in 2016. Without a doubt, it could be better, but it wasn't the reason UND only had 3 wins last year. That being said, I fully agree that there are adjustments need to be made on the offensive side.
-
Heidelbaugh showed in practice he was able to manage the offense, which goes back to the overall offensive philosophy Bubba wants. Game situation, I fully agree Zimmerman was the better choice, but it is tough to make that call based on what they had seen up to that point. I get the original decision that was made and I get why it changed once they had more info. I get it and agree there needs to be some improvement to the game calling, but somehow that philosophy managed to simultaneously make a 3x All-American and 2x All-Conference at the running back position.
-
I ran the numbers and it was right around 2.6 per game. Take out the Montana game where Studsrud was hurt and they had 7, and the average was 2.3/game last year. Zimmerman didn't show it in practice, which is why he was where he was on the depth chart. My opinion was that he really wasn't that great in the games he played in, though I know others disagree. He has a great arm but decision making was questionable at best. Ketteringham might make a few more mistakes that Keaton did, but will also make more plays with his arm and legs. Keaton was a solid game manager and protected the ball, which goes along with the offensive philosophy Bubba wants to run (which is proven to go to hell when the defense is decimated by injuries). Guessing we'll see an uptick in the offense this year with the new signal caller.

Summit has had Wednesday games for a long time. UND had plenty of games on Saturdays when there was hockey while they were in the Big Sky (like every weekend.....). Mirror scheduling worked pretty well in the Big Sky for UND mainly because the team that was on the road started 1-2 hours after the game in Grand Forks so you were able to catch at least part of it. It would hurt overall streaming numbers but it isn't like any of the Summit schools have a huge traveling fan base for regular season basketball. Need to get a 10th team and get the scheduling mess figured out.
-
Added days of the week. The women's schedule is a little more tolerable than the men's but still not great. Not a fan of the inconsistent days from week to week.
-
What an absolutely cluster of days and consistency. Hosting USD, SDSU and NDSU all on Wednesday nights is straight garbage and we play at all of those places on Saturdays. The Summit scheduling is brutal. Home games by day: Wednesday - 3 (NDSU, USD, SDSU) Friday - 1 (Ft. Wayne) Thursday - 1 (Omaha) Saturday - 3 (WIU, ORU, Denver)

I mean, he has utilized his RB's to the point where one is a three time All-American and another is two time all-conference. And I don't think anyone is going to say our O-Line has been a strength any of the last 3 years. Yes, there's room for improvement but I think the blame game on this has jumped the shark.

Someone proposing it and it actually happening are two completely different things. People have dumb ideas all the time and are free to express them.

That's kind of why I'm on that wait-and-see if it is just a one off or the start of a trend. Possibly just a coincidence.
-
I agree, but he literally managed to hop on a plane and sign one for USD immediately after being hired though. Very strange. Will be interesting to see if it is a one-off or they grab a few more.

Coe was a grad transfer and had a shot before he decided to hang it up but pretty slim pickings recently.

With their success, NDSU has expanded their recruiting footprint, though they obviously still get a good portion of local talent. The South Dakota schools and UNI don't recruit ND and Minnesota outside of the MSP area, so not seeing some of these kids have other offers is not surprising. The majority of them have been to multiple camps and the staff has had plenty of time to see them.
-
They need to get rid of the bump outs on Demers that take out the right turn lane. Otherwise, whatever.

Per the Herald: Officers don’t carry animal tranquilizers because the medications require specific licensing and training. Seems like an unneeded expense for something that maybe happens every couple years at most. I'm not sure exactly what kind of "plan" you want them to have. They have 3 options (shoo, sedate or shoot) and have to weigh each situation as it goes. It went on as long as it did because they tried remove it on its own accord, which is the obvious first option even if it takes some time. They were unable to do that because of the crowd of people that basically treed the bear and kept it there. When that didn't work, they needed to find someone that had the proper sedatives, which didn't work, so they had to call someone from the Fargo zoo that had the right mixture. And again, because of the crowds, they needed to be overly cautious so that it didn't attack someone while the sedative kicked in. The outrage if they would have flat out shot it without trying to save it would have been over the top, but I guess that would have saved everyone some time.
