University of North Dakota 2018-19 Season

Adams should have been put on the line with Guch and Jones as soon as Mismash went down. They were a line last year that was pretty good when they were together. And now that Mismash is (sort of) back they should just make Guch, Mismash and Adams a line instead of sticking Guch with 7 and 9. -
Also to add on to my previous comments on BCHL commits, I’m interested to see what kind of role/progression Ethan Bowen has next season with a lot of Chilliwack’s players moving on to college.

None of the games I’ve seen were high scoring, but it is the playoffs so that’s to be expected. I wasn’t impressed with Penticton’s team at all tbh. Though they lost every game I watched, so I’m sure that has something to do with it. I wasn’t that impressed with Rizzo the first time I saw him, but increased viewings changed my view. Chilliwack is pretty good but they had a really tough time in the first round. I think their top scorer has 5 points. Their top players didn’t produce much in round 1. Blaisdell played pretty well aside from game 1. He was fighting the puck a bit. But both of them pass my eye test.

University of North Dakota 2018-19 Season

The margin for error with this team is so thin because we can’t score, and every defensive error/bad goal allowed is magnified. If we could score on average at least 3 goals per game, defensive errors wouldn’t always be the difference between winning and losing games. -
I’d say Rizzo reminds me a bit of Rocco Grimaldi, in that he draws a lot of penalties because he’s crafty, and seems to make things happen out of nothing. Berry has compared Blaisdell to Drake Caggiula before and I can definitely see shades of that, in that like Drake he can score goals in multiple ways (net front, tips, has a good shot, pulling out the flashy move once in a while). Entertaining player.

So I have been watching the BCHL playoffs. Penticton was eliminated tonight in game 6 so Rizzo’s season is done. (Note: Rizzo is going to draw a lot of penalties next year so if we could figure out the PP that’d be great. ) Chilliwack (with Blaisdell & Bowen) won their game 7 last night. Blaisdell had a PP goal. (Side note: I watched all 7 games, and I’ve never seen a goalie get run so many times in my life.) Wenatchee (with Murphy Stratton) won their game 7 to advance. Stratton had 4 goals, 4 assists in the opening round. I didnt catch much of this series but hopefully will catch more of round 2.

University of North Dakota 2018-19 Season

TBH, No one. Poolman maybe. -
The UND Hockey Facebook account responded to a comment asking about TV that we may have news in a couple days. I’m guessing they are working on getting it, but that’s just my interpretation of that. No guarantee it’ll happen but sounds like they are trying.

University of North Dakota Hockey 2016 - 2017 Season

The inconsistent offensive production heightens these bad bounces and other in-game errors significantly. The margin for error for this team is so small because we don’t score much. If we scored more goals per game, these bad luck bounces might not warrant attention because we’d probably have won some games we lost. -
He’s referring to the three games we carried play in that we didn’t win. We actually didn’t play all that well in the game we won.
-
I believe what I heard was if we win in 2 (not 3) next weekend it’s possible....( and of course 1 at the X)
-
Denver has been rotating goalies. Devin Cooley played tonight so who knows who they will play in net really..,
-
Likely UND is also monitoring several players playing high school hockey. Early recruiting has burned UND in the past, so they have to do their due diligence on these players.
-
Um, well none of our committed recruits are playing high school hockey this season so... maybe that’s why...
-
The question is how many of the forwards you listed are actually going to play all that much next year though? Unless Berry is an idiot, I created a fake line chart, and only one of the forwards you listed would be on my “everyone is healthy” line chart. I’d say most of the forwards you listed will bounce in and out of the lineup on the 4th line.
-
You included Peski, a defenseman in this post. A defenseman who is not an offensive defenseman. I will laugh hysterically if he can’t outscore Peski next year.
-
His name is Ryder and he’s dead to me.
-
Funny enough, I’ve been using this jokingly all season. “Who can we call up from our minor league affiliate?”
-
Yeah I did not expect him to be benched, no matter how deserved it would have been.
-
To me, not benching Gardner for his continued on ice idiocy shows what little faith Berry has in his other centers. I realize we’re thin at center but still. At some point there should have been some accountability.
-
I want to know what 7 and 9 did to get top line time. Also, 2 d-men on the 4th line. Gross.
-
Well, I’m excited. Not based on draft status, but because I’ve seen them play and believe they will help. I get the hesitation to be optimistic for others, but just because some forwards has underperformed doesn’t mean every forward is going to from here on out. So I will maintain my optimism.
-
Trust me I get it. But some seem to be obsessed with high draft picks (not me)
-
Late round draft picks are not polished players. They generally have blatant weaknesses, it’s up to the player to develop and address weaknesses. Where a player is drafted is often based on perceived potential at the next level. Several late round picks have been good college players.
-
He definitely cooled off, but still never went more than 2 games all season without a point.
