  1. I don't think so, unless there are injuries. Gleason will be very valuable at D next year with his experience. We are likely looking at bringing in another forward... likely a Davidson type player.
  2. Jason only has a sister. No brothers.
  3. I knew this... but he'd still be considered a "draft pick" because he was, in fact, drafted. Completely agree with you about Rowney. I think he's a key piece to the puzzle. I like what he brings. Not flashy, but still an important piece.
  4. except Wheeler was a junior when he turned pro. Wheeler found a loophole in the CBA where he could do that instead of playing through his senior year to wait for free agency.
  5. Maybe you should be looking at the other players they have. Kristo may be Montreal's top prospect, but they are a playoff team, and not lacking talented players. There are a lot of factors you have to think about besides the player in question. And that's the reality.
  6. Um... Dell is too old for the WHL. He is 21. So I''d quit while you're ahead.
  7. I'm sorry but that's crazy. None of the potential early departures are going to jump straight into the NHL and I would be very surprised to see them in the show next year. It's difficult to jump over incumbents on all these teams. Gregoire would probably the only one with even a slight chance and that's only because he would play for the Islanders. If all of those four guys leave, they'll be biding their time in the AHL next year, probably behind guys in the AHL on the depth chart. And there is no guarantee they will get called up, so I'd stop with that assumption right now. My only problem with guys that leave early are those that leave to play in the AHL. I don't see a point to leave school to play in a minor league that's always going to be there. But that's just my opinion. If all four of those guys leave, I think where we will take the biggest hit is in the area of leadership. We'll be down to 2 seniors and it makes me nervous. When Denver lost all their guys last year, they at least had a decent number of upperclassmen. Gregoire and Hexy have been team leaders ever since they got here and if both are gone, that's a big blow in more than one area besides on the ice.
  8. The player has to want to go too. It's not just the club trying to get said players out of situations. They have to want to go. Ness was probably a "need" to get out of Minny. Donovan probably wanted to leave and thought he was ready for the pro game.
  9. I'm purely speculating here, but based on what I have heard, I don't think losing Dell is going to happen right now.
  10. I don't know for sure, but I believe Student athletes have academic progress reports that have to be filled out by instructors. I don't see how an athlete such as Kristo could get away with not going to class and turning in a progress report that is sufficient. I'd almost bet my life he wouldn't be playing if he wasn't attending class.
  11. I will be in green .... because it's my only option...
  12. Why would he watch our "recent" games against BC? 1- they were not recent and 2- the team that lost to BC is not our current team. He would have wasted his time if you ask me. Oh, then I hope he did watch.
  13. I don't think the band being there has anything to do with who wins Hobey. That's would be too easy. I mean.... what if hypothetically no Hobey candidates' teams were in the Frozen Four? None of their schools' bands would be there. I think they just pick a band out of the ones that are there and tell them to come.
  14. I'm still waiting to meet a respectable UMD fan.................... or one that knows more about their hockey team than I do. I get that there are bad seeds in every fan base. I just wish I didn't have to personally come in contact with all of UMD's.................
  15. I'd be willing to bet none of the finalists know who won it. And it's not uncommon for some finalists to have already signed. I'm sure they will be granted a release to attend the ceremony. Bobby Butler signed last year and he was at the awards ceremony. It's not rocket science here. All 3 finalists will be at the awards ceremony in St Paul. Bank it.
  16. Tickets are still available. I bet a lot of people will just buy them when they get to town or at the door on Friday.
  17. Ha! Tried that. lol. At least my mom & dad will be able to read it!
  18. Ah, if only us normal people could read that...
  19. This is a normal occurance on non-hockey playing weekends. Though I'm not sure why this is relevant... or why I responded to this.
  20. what if i, hypothetically, I don't need any medical assistance? Maybe I'm just tough or something .... but when a deer ran into my car a few years ago, and the glass shattered into my face, the medical people were all freaking out and I'm thinking , "ok..that's fine but can I go? I have places to be..." The same thing with the whole "watch for flying pucks" and if you do get hit by a puck "wait for medical assistance." I'm sorry, but I've been hit by pucks many times and I never got medical assistance, nor did I need any.
  21. If the Gophers can beat Michigan, so can we!
  22. I'm not sure what your problem is buddy, but I suggest taking your condescending attitude and leaving before I rip you a new one. I apologize for having a good relationship with my mother and for having a conversation over the phone about hockey with her. And since you didn't actually quote anything I said, I have no idea what you took offense to. I stand by my opinion and you seem to be the only one that has a problem with what I said, so maybe it's time to grow up.
  23. Correction: he signed a contract , but in order for it not to kick in until next season, the ATO comes into place so he can play out the remainder of the season with Rockford. Vandy had an ATO last year with the their affiliate, his contract kicked in that fall. So essentially you sign a contract and an ATO so you can play the rest of the season without it getting taken off the books. EDIT: yeah! What Goon said.
  24. FROZEN FOUR DRAFT LOTTERY.... hello?! You can if you choose.... decide to go into the Frozen Four draft lottery. THIS IS WHERE A MAJORITY GET TICKETS. Each school gets 600. They distribute those however they see fit. Students get some tickets, Fighting Sioux Club got some, players FAMILIES get some tickets as each player is allowed four tickets. It adds up. Please stop this whining because you couldn't get tickets. There will be tons of Sioux fans at the Xcel. A Notre Dame fan on USCHO didn't think they would sell their allotted 600, so there could potentially be some returns on Monday. But you're crazy if you think there won't be any support for the Sioux in St Paul. Look at how many on this board and their friends and family have tickets?! Michigan will not have more fans than we will. And UMD had a large demand for tickets as well. You need to stop being childish about this. Not every UND fan that wants tickets is going to be able to get them. The games are in SAINT PAUL, not TAMPA. We can drive there, of course the demand is going to be higher this year than in other years. I'm sorry that I got tickets 3 weeks ago and no, you can't have them.
  25. Remember all the rumors about Kristo when it happened? Think back to that. It'll give you an idea of what was said.
