  1. holy crap that was an awesome goal! nice work gregs!
  2. Well... Reiter, statistically... is the better goalie. I heard they might just be going with him for the stretch run.
  3. Well, then he's a project for DU since that's where he's going.
  4. If we're lucky maybe he'll rub off on the rest of his teammates. Meh... I don't really care either way. I just realized a lot of my favorite players are playing on that team. Doesn't matter though, unlike some people, I cheer for my own country.
  5. I'd imagine once we got the Simpson committment, that probably was the nail in the coffin for this kid, so he'll go to DU.
  6. WOW. I'm really surprised how I didn't know about this. I'm from small town southern Minnesota where wrestling is bigger than hockey and a lot of my best friends from high school wrestled in state tourneys and I never heard about this until now. This is ridiculous... I can't believe we allow this guy to run the show... because really, how do I know everything is being done in an ethical matter here? Why should I trust this guy? Oh, wait... I DON'T. The article posted....It's from a legit source IMO. It was originally ran in The Guillotine, which is the major Minnesota amateur wrestling publication in the state, so I take their word to bank, but that's just me.
  7. I think I'll wait until we play them before I decide who the best opponent for us would be.
  8. THey've used that heading before (last year) so I'm sure they just recycled it from then. I don't think it's a big deal unless people decide to make it one.
  9. I think "official" visits are done after a verbal committment is made, but I'm not for sure. It's already been noted that we are after Rau pretty hard core. So hopefully...
  10. they are twins. I also would find it very hard to believe the Gophers wouldn't be going after them at all.
  11. I've heard it's a negative on CC (this coming from CC people). But that could be internet talk so I could be wrong or things could always change.
  12. Um... this makes no sense. First of all, the trial was set WAY before it was decided Matt would be back this semester. THe trial date was set back in November. (it was in the Herald if you question that) Secondly, I'm aware that Canada does not let Americans across the border by car. (they can fly you know) However, I have a hard time believing the same law applies to Canadian citizens like Matt.
  13. sounds like a pretty stereotypical statement to me. I've been a vikings fan all my life. my parents have been vikings fans all their lives.... my cousin however, gets married to a wisconsin guy and suddenly becomes a diehard packer fan. imagine that.... anyways, my point is... i don't appreciate this comment. lol I've been told I should be used to choking since I'm from Minnesota. I don't really care. choke artists or not, i love my teams. (though obviously they are not all Minnesota teams) If I'm anything, it's passionate about my teams. (my high school did go 1-37 in football & basketball one year and everyone still went to their games -- obviously I'm diehard) lol go sioux!
  14. The article was vague. It doesn't even say why they came to the verdict it did. What I got out of it was that Matt passed some of the sobriety tests, but not some of the others. The officer on the case said "it was close" ... it's tough to say how it went down unless you were there. Interesting nonetheless.
  15. You already said all this. We're waiting for you to leave. Bandwagon's full... and there's no room for that kind of attitude on it.
  16. i'm really glad i put whiny, negative people on ignore.
  17. I don't mean to be a b*tch here... but why are you here? i mean, you clearly don't have any faith. it's a tough game, and the negativity is really pissing me off.
  18. I know you get like one year tuition paid by the league for each year you play in the league for studies if you choose to do that. I'm not sure on financial compensation. I think there's some sort of financial package, but I've heard the opposite as well. It's vague and depends if you ask an American or a Canadian. Canadian's seem to think the USHL and some of those lower tier leagues give athletes compensation also...
  19. IMO, major juniors is for players who won't play in college very long b/c they are closer to NHL-ready. Physically, they might have the strength to play in the NHL, but need more game action to develop their game. College is for players who maybe need more time in the weight room to develop physically and more practice time to refine their skills. It really does depend on where a player is at if you ask me. FOr some major junior is better, for others college is better. And then there are those special players that would make it to the nhl no matter where they chose to play.
  20. but that's not what the question was, and that's all i'm sayin'.
  21. which helps no one out of the WDAZ viewing area. ALL home games are supposed to be on FCS, so that is what I'm going with whether it shows up on my guide or not.
  22. Granted that we haven't played CC yet... I don't know how I would feel about playing them. I don't know how we match up this year with them. I've seen a few of their games but it's difficult to say how we would do against them until we play them at the end of the season. I don't think much of SCSU or Minny...or UMD for that matter. I think this weekend will be a huge factor in where we finish at the end of the season in the league. I hate to say it, but I think we need a sweep to pull us even with CC and Wisco because we have a bye week after DU series. (Wisco has non-conf this weekend) It's going to be hard to move up and make up some ground without a) some sweeps and b) help from others.
  23. It's not like Cornell is the first team to ever get screwed over non-calls though. It happens to everyone at some point. (see: UND's current season) I didn't watch or listen to the game since I had to work, but I've seen plenty of non calls lead to goals and Cornell should have found a way to overcome that if they deserved to win last night. And IF a penalty WAS called there's really no way of knowing if it would have changed the final result anyways. Would Cornell have scored on that powerplay had they gotten a penalty? Who knows. Non-calls go both ways, and I'm sure you know that.
  24. From what I got out of the article, when he was referring to "big city" he was referring to what he liked about Boston, not big cities in general. But really... who doesn't like big cities at that age?
