Our hotel is 3/4 mile from the arena and we are way under $150/night. Must be in a sketchy area. Oh well. We don't plan to be there that much.

I've never flown to a game. My motto is if you can get there in a day : drive.

I can't go because I called in sick to work last Friday to go to the Frozen FaceOff instead. They'd get suspicious if I keep doing that... If this was a Saturday/Sunday regional I'd be there.

So I was at my cousin's wedding in St Paul last night, said a little prayer as we drove by the X on the way to the reception. Then at the reception, I was talking to my other cousin, who is a UW alumni, and I explained our predicament, and he just calmly says, "The Badgers will get it done." And this was when they were down by 2 goals in the third. So it was a happy night for both sides at this wedding.

SCSU has tailed off in the 2nd half too, and split the season series with Miami, so the results weren't so surprising to me. I like our chances against Miami as long as we don't have any huge turnovers in front of our net like this last weekend.

I live in the Twin Cities now, but I was in college when I started coming down for these games. Gotta stick with tradition. I think it's that way for a lot of people I went to college with. I remember being at the X and having someone come up to me and say, " Hey! I know you! We stood in the hockey line together!" Love that stuff. My roommate and I drove overnight to Oxford, OH in October, so yes, Sioux fans travel from all over. We thought the turnout there was light, but the Miami fans said it was the best showing of visitor fans they've ever had, so I guess it depends... We also went to Omaha and Bemidji. If we have time and money and we can get there by car, we're going!
