Haha I should have clarified what I meant by "cute." The ones sitting by us amused me. So proud of their number 1 ranking because hockey is the ONLY sport at their school. Not too many Sioux fans at the game I didn't think, but we were pretty scattered around, so it washard to tell. Drake Caggiula's parents sat in front of us. They're so nice!

I thought their fans were cute!

Well I'm driving to Oxford tonight. Easy 12 hour drive from Minneapolis!!

If no team in the USHL has played more than 10 games, I generally feel it's too early to discuss recruits with "poor stats." Tri-City does not have a player with more than 2 points in 5 games played. Just saying.
-
He's been hot/cold. It's consistency, which reflect in his stats. And there's never been much talent around him in Des Moines or Lincoln this year thus far. There's skills there, but he doesn't always show it. Money in the shootout, so he's got that going for him.
-
If people are worried about certain players stats, I recommend taking the time to watch a game and judge how they play instead of looking solely at stats. Also keep in mind how their team is doing. For example, if their team isn't scoring a lot of goals, it'll reflect their stats.

FYI, I've got an extra ticket available for both games this weekend, so if anyone is looking to go, msg me.

I laughed when I got that email.

Gersich (and Poganski) are at the bottom of my "likely to jump ship" ranking order for next year's recruits. They probably know very little about the WHL as it is, based on where they grew up. They have seemingly zero interest in anything but college hockey next year. (For those wondering, my ranking goes: 1- Schmaltz 2- Mantha 3- Wilkie 4- (tie) Poganski/Gersich.)

The article quoted about him being a true freshman next year, which means he wouldn't be accelerating, so it's not academic related.

Johnson is a forward. It's a bigger adjustment for D. I think we can wait longer than opening weekend to say who can't hack it.

Check the other thread on the series.

What a bunch of troublemakers.

I am pending my jeep gets fixed...

I'm upset because I am supposed to go to Oxford, OH for the games this weekend and driving home from Wisconsin this weekend, I think my transmission is starting to go. This is a huge problem. So that is what's bothering me.

I've seen nothing spectacular out of the kid since he was a high school sophomore. I must be missing something.

That's not saying much

NORTH DAKOTA vs. U of Manitoba Gameday - Sunday
siouxforce19 replied to AZSIOUX's topic in Men's Hockey
My words of wisdom are: "It's only an exhibition game, so it doesn't count, but it's embarrassing if you lose." -
Go early. Park on the street and all you gotta do is cross the street to the REA. That's what I do. I realize it's not ideal for some people. There's always the option of carpooling with someone that could drop you off close to the door and then the driver of the vehicle could go park and meet you in the lobby. Also keep in mind if enough people express their discomfort, the people in charge could always change their minds. It's about the fan experience. If people are unhappy, I'm sure the REA would have to re-evaluate the decision.

Um, talent has nothing to do with being captain material. So I'm not sure what you're suggesting. The team picks the captains for a reason.

I actually was talking about what needs to happen this year to a friend and I actually said we need guys like Mike Parks and Brendan O'Donnell to step the *bleep* up. O'Donnell was injured most of his freshman year, but when he wasn't I thought he was really good. Last season is another story. And Parks was really coming along towards the end of freshman year and then last year he got injured and just never really got it going. Those two just need to get some confidence back and regain some mojo to put the puck in the net. Those are just two examples I thought of, but if other guys want to pick up some slack, that is OKAY with me.

I'm a little late here, but count me in as a big fan of Max Coatta.

Not all girls like pink. I HATE pink.

By all accounts I've heard, the Tampa Frozen Four was done well. ... and I want an excuse to go someplace warm if/when winters up here drag into May like last year.

Olson and Poolman are both 2014. They are overagers this year. (I think) Rowe and Voltin are both 2014, but that could change. Rowe has been injured a lot in his USHL career, and we'll see how Voltin does in Lincoln this year.
