  1. I hate Ucci so much. I don't really understand the non-Gopher fan people who call it their favorite arena to watch a game. It's my least favorite of all the ones I've been to. I get that the U needs to cater to STH's, but their single game ticket options to fans are pathetic. I also once tried to walk around their concourse during an intermission and got stuck and did not make it back to my spot in time for the start of the next period. But I guess some fans like it, so they must have a different viewpoint than I, so to each their own. Football stadium is great, but you do have to sit on benches unless you're a STH. Yesterday, I also learned that seats on one side of the stadium you won't freeze as much once the fall weather starts to change. Also, they only serve beer outside the stadium, so once you're in your seat it's a long hike depending where your seat is to get beer and it's only served until halftime.
  2. Which one? LOL. I've been to Ucci, Ridder and TCF. Ucci is standing, other 2 are benches.
  3. It bothers me that whenever I go to a sporting event at the University of Minnesota I either have to stand or sit on a bench...
  4. I will be at a wedding. Duluth alums, I tell ya. I'm having a hard time accepting this.
  5. Christian Horn is well known in Minnesota hockey circles due to his high school career at Benilde St Margarets. (He was also a really good lacrosse player in high school too). He turned down scholarship offers to basically walk on at Minnesota. I was wondering if he was going to stick at the U...
  6. I didn't say that hockey was your only sport. Your own fans sitting next to me told me that, so you might want to take your issues up with members of your own fan base.
  7. Haha I should have clarified what I meant by "cute." The ones sitting by us amused me. So proud of their number 1 ranking because hockey is the ONLY sport at their school. Not too many Sioux fans at the game I didn't think, but we were pretty scattered around, so it washard to tell. Drake Caggiula's parents sat in front of us. They're so nice!
  8. Well I'm driving to Oxford tonight. Easy 12 hour drive from Minneapolis!!
  9. If no team in the USHL has played more than 10 games, I generally feel it's too early to discuss recruits with "poor stats." Tri-City does not have a player with more than 2 points in 5 games played. Just saying.
  10. He's been hot/cold. It's consistency, which reflect in his stats. And there's never been much talent around him in Des Moines or Lincoln this year thus far. There's skills there, but he doesn't always show it. Money in the shootout, so he's got that going for him.
  11. If people are worried about certain players stats, I recommend taking the time to watch a game and judge how they play instead of looking solely at stats. Also keep in mind how their team is doing. For example, if their team isn't scoring a lot of goals, it'll reflect their stats.
  12. FYI, I've got an extra ticket available for both games this weekend, so if anyone is looking to go, msg me.
  13. Gersich (and Poganski) are at the bottom of my "likely to jump ship" ranking order for next year's recruits. They probably know very little about the WHL as it is, based on where they grew up. They have seemingly zero interest in anything but college hockey next year. (For those wondering, my ranking goes: 1- Schmaltz 2- Mantha 3- Wilkie 4- (tie) Poganski/Gersich.)
  14. The article quoted about him being a true freshman next year, which means he wouldn't be accelerating, so it's not academic related.
  15. Johnson is a forward. It's a bigger adjustment for D. I think we can wait longer than opening weekend to say who can't hack it.
  16. Check the other thread on the series.
  17. I'm upset because I am supposed to go to Oxford, OH for the games this weekend and driving home from Wisconsin this weekend, I think my transmission is starting to go. This is a huge problem. So that is what's bothering me.
  18. I've seen nothing spectacular out of the kid since he was a high school sophomore. I must be missing something.
