It wasn't about whether he's a top 6 guy. It was about combinations. You don't break up OD-Pogo-Gaarder and Chyz-Poolman-St Clair played well together at regionals.
I don't think the coaching staff likes to give big time playing time to freshmen to start the season.
For example, I was a senior at UND in 08-09 and it took forever for them to put Gregoire and Hextall on the top line with Duncan.
So since it's the off week, If anyone wants a good laugh, head over to USCHO and read a UNO fan whine/rant for 7 paragraphs about various topics:

I was in Philly, but won't be able to go to Boston. (Probably better off with my 0-3 record at Frozen Four's lol). But this year I feel like everyone else that I know is going to Boston.
Quinnipiac guy is just mad that last year they had a regional in BRIDGEPORT, CONNECTICUT... just a short drive from their campus.... and couldn't fill it with their own fans to give them an advantage.
I was listening to the Pipeline Show on Saturday and they had someone on who said Yale had a guy shadowing him all game which made him very ineffective. I'm interested to see who we match up with him.
If the only game I had ever seen UND play was last Saturday's game, I'd have no problems with Murphy being in.
But that's not saying much.
I also do not think Murphy being in the lineup is a make or break thing.
The idiot said Hockey East should always get 5 teams in if they are a 12 team conference.
That explains enough about his thought process for me to come up with a conclusion.
I've seen QU play a few times. I don't think their goalie is exactly what I would call a "hot goalie." But I don't think he's a slouch either. I'm just not sure if he's a product of playing on a good team or not.
I would have been more concerned if they would have given us Yale. Their goalie would concern me.
