Miami was 1-21-2 during the regular season. If we can’t sweep them in two why would we ever believe they could get to the frozen four much less win it.

I’ve got no confidence at this point. Goaltending for the entire season has been disappointing. Pretty hard to win a championship with this level of defense/goaltending. Maybe it’s not impossible but it is improbable. We continue to make stupid plays in our own end, been a season long problem but has been very noticeable this past month. Played eight games with UNO & CC and came away with 6 of the 24 points.

Not sure I understand the fascination with Sandelin. In 24 seasons with Duluth he has a grand total of zero regular season conference championships and five second place finishes. He has made eight NC$$ tournaments. Not saying he is a bad coach but I just don't understand why anyone would think he should be the next coach at UND.

What the hell was that tonight?

The old WCHA had more difficult competition on top half of the league while the NCHC may have a bit better on the bottom half of the league. For me, the old WCHA was definitely a more difficult league to win a regular season championship. You needed to beat MN, Wisconsin and Denver - teams that have a lot of history, tradition and national championships, in addition to having St. Cloud, Duluth, and some very good CC teams.

Hakstol: Made tourney in all 11 seasons. 7 frozen fours, no championships. Overall tourney record of 17-11. There were only 2 years where they didn’t win at least one tournament game. Berry: Made tourney in 6 of 9 seasons* 1 frozen four, 1 championship. Overall tourney record of 5-3. There have been 5 years where they didn’t win a tournament game, not including the Covid year or this year. * Giving him credit for making the 2020 tourney that never occurred due to Covid. That team was a lock. Also includes the current season. Frozen four and overall record subject to change with this seasons results. Hakstol was one win from a championship his first season while Berry got it done in his first year.

Much better game, congrats on winning the conference title. Now let’s win a few more titles this season.

Fortunate, very fortunate to win. Need a better game tomorrow to get the sweep.

This team makes way too many mistakes and has too inconsistent goaltending to have any realistic chance to win a NC$$ championship. The runway to fix these problems is growing shorter and shorter. They need to make significant improvements in these areas and I frankly have no faith in this coaching staff to get it done. They can look like world beaters one game and the most inept mistake prone team in another.

I’m sure Berry can go to the portal again for a goalie, worked awesome the last three years. Can’t seem to recruit or develop a good one.

No chance of winning 4 playoff games in a row with this goaltending and defense. Zero.

Well I suppose that’s a possibility. Not holding my breath.

With the rules now in place for OT in playoff games it is very difficult for me to make a case for wanting the ball first. If KC’s OT drive was the first possession would they have gone for it 4th down deep in their own end ? Maybe, but the decision was very easy for them since they were trailing.

It looks like there is an error in the NCHC standings. The site shows St. Cloud with 28 points while the NCHC web site shows them with 30 points. I believe they have two shoot out wins, could that be the missing two points?

As soon as Berry holds them accountable. In other words, never.

Plenty of time for UND to challenge.

Not impressed with our effort that period.

Need a better defensive effort tonight, can’t expect the goalie to save your butt that much. Keep the shots on goal to 25 or less and I like our chances, not so much if it’s like last night.

It was a clown show

Yep. Brutally bad.

Not a fan of either team but I think I would rather have Love than Goff going forward. I believe he started to figure it out the second half of the season and has a higher ceiling.
