I want to believe UND will win this game. Past history with Bubba on the road makes it very difficult to think positively. USD is very beatable, just not too sure UND on the road is going to be able to do the job. Really need to be able to run the ball effectively today to have a chance.

I understand your point but It is almost meaningless in the big picture. Not completely but pretty close. The difference between a regulation win and an OT win is far greater than any minimum benefit from counting the OT win as a win on your record. Usually the Pairwise mimics the RPI with some minor flipping because of head to head. I find it hard to get too excited about the OT win when we should have won in regulation. It is better than losing in OT.

Home/Road weighting: For purposes of calculating a final RPI, games are weighted based upon whether they are home or road games. Road wins and home losses are weighted by a factor of 1.2, while home wins and road losses are weighted by 0.8. FWIW: RPI is by far the main driver of the Pairwise.

It is not a win in the traditional sense. A regulation win would have been much more helpful in the Pairwise. You get credit for 2/3 win and 1/3 loss.

Overtime win shows up as a win on your record which is meaningless. Pairwise is the only thing that really matters (unless your record is under .500). For Pairwise it is 2/3 win 1/3 loss. Too many unforced errors tonight, seems like we panic with the puck too often.

Tommy can look good to great against average to poor defenses. The problem I see is when we face a real good defense. The two yard bubble screens just don’t work the same and he can’t seem to be able to throw downfield with any consistency. The good defenses know it and can tighten the box even more which makes the offense struggle to run the ball. Too many times we make a two yard throw and expect the player to pickup the five or six yards on third down.

Totally dominated two of the best FCS teams the last two weeks…what? wait a minute…never mind.

In the grand scheme does this game really matter? There is no way this team is going to make any kind of playoff run with this defensive play.
