Honestly when I saw that Montana was scheduled to go to Grand Forks 3 years in a row I thought they would buyout the middle OOC game almost immediately after UND joined the league, not because there's anything wrong with UND or Grand Forks but playing somebody 3 years in a row at their place just seems unlikely unless the league mandates it. But as of now it's still scheduled so maybe it will happen, I hope so because I missed the first one and want to come next year.

Wouldn't it be something if they were working on sending Western Carolina to Montana so they could play the UND/NDSU game again, that would drop a few jaws along the Red River.

That has to be a first. Of course we don't have Blood this year, he was good for 2-10 minutes a lot of games.

I think when he gets another 6-10 games under his belt and hits his stride he is going to provide a lot of "wow" moments for this team.

Funny you should mention that, I was talking to my nephew who was at the Saturday game and I mentioned how the play always seems better on Fridays than Saturdays and his exact words were "That's because they party all night after the game, it was like that when I was here 20 years ago and it still is." His opinion but probably a lot of truth there.

This should be a good game, Sorenson is good but his line is subpar and he has to throw everything quick, if he had time in the pocket he would kill teams. UND better get after him better than they have lately or he will pick them apart.

Not much can be taken from the U-18 games, the coaches usually play their studs sparingly if at all and play reserves and backup goalies and the team acts half-interested, probably one of the worst games to attend as a fan.

The problem with transitions is you never really know for sure how many kids stayed away because of it, the only kids we can really grade as a full recruiting class right now are the true and redshirt freshmen...they knew they would be playoff eligible their first year on the field. So the dilemma is...is it fair to judge Mussman when his recruiting ability has been hampered the last few years by kids not wanting to come to play 1-3 years without being able to advance to the FCS playoffs? I'm sure it's not a major deal to every recruit, but even if it means losing one or two high-end recruits each year (and those are the ones who would want more exposure), how much difference would those 5 or 6 studs make on the field every week? I would think quite a bit. Even though the transition is over as far as the move to D1 is concerned, it won't be over for another 3 years as far as true recruiting classes go, so things should get steadily better as the full D1 recruits keep coming in. That said, I personally don't like the spin that's constantly offered up by Mussman after every downfall...it came down to a few plays, moral victories, we played well, yada yada yada. No you didn't. You got your ass kicked. You didn't tackle. You couldn't cover anybody. You had no pass rush. You didn't make adjustments. I can live with the fact that the defense is not that talented and is going to struggle to make stops, but don't insult my intelligence as a fan and try to sugarcoat a turd, I'd feel better if he stood there and told it like it was, and maybe let it be known that he was a little pissed off. Maybe I'm too old school, back in the days when coaches chewed ass and threw things at halftime, maybe it's a softer, cuddly world out there now.

That's true, a lot of people from here bought winter homes for a fraction of what their houses here are worth.
