  1. I've been wondering when he would find the ice, see how he looks tonight.
  2. BC has won 4 NC's since our last one, hate to say it but nobodys been better the last 10 years.
  3. In the Edmonton Sun no less, I would like to read the editorial repiles to that article. I see the Canadian public doesn't exactly agree according to their poll results. Another
  4. Well, if they go to 15 it will likely be followed soon by 16, a nice round scheduling number.
  5. That sounds promising, 2 DL, 2 LB, and a safety could go a long way in strengthing the defense back to where it should be, I'd like to see the shutdown run defense of 2 years ago and give the offense a chance to win some games, hard to watch a team go 4-6 when the offense is putting up over 30 points a game (excluding Mines).
  6. What's your take on this geaux_sioux, you know the roster better than anyone else here? Do you see any redshirts making an immediate impact, especially defensively?
  7. Is that a special deal for the games or the normal 'Managers Reception' that all the ES have?
  8. Strikes me funny...how geograhically unbalanced are those 3...almost Mexico, almost Canada, and almost Cuba? Should have thrown a Boston College or somebody in there to cover all 4 corners of the US. It makes me laugh how even pro sports try to keep their leagues somewhat geographical but now with all the league-hopping in college you have things like this being considered.
  9. Their early schedule is pretty weak, the only traditionally tough team was Wisconsin and they have been stinky too so far. Looks like their next 7 games are against decent teams.

    FCS Playoffs

Latest lines: NDSU -7 SDSU SHSU -13 Cal Poly MSU -13 Stony Br. EWU -20 Wagner
  11. Defensive coaching and secondary help seem like the biggest issues right now.
  12. The only camera angle that could "see" the puck was looking right down the end line, so Jackson saying he saw it is BS. The only person including Saunders who knew where the puck went was Lee because he was standing right there watching it fall off of (eventually) Saunders right leg. If the ref would have been behind the goal or on the other side it would have been a goal, but he wasn't and lost sight and called it dead like he is supposed to, not the right outcome but it happens for and against every team eventually and this time it benefitted us so...that's hockey. Sometimes you catch a break, sometimes you get screwed, it's the nature of sports.
  13. I take it that team dominated for a few years?
  14. I'm surprised the PC Police haven't jumped all over this.
  15. I watched the Denver-CC series on TV last week and Denver dominated the play, CC seems to be much like UND so far struggling to clear the defensive zone, they gave up 6 goals both nights to Denver and I think 6 and 4 this weekend to Yale and UNH, so we might be catching them at the right time, if we could sneak 3 or 4 points out of this series it would be huge.

    Fire Muss

I don't think hockey has anything to do with the salary the football staff receive, if anything the success of the hockey program has been a financial plus to the other sports. I'm sure between the revenue that's generated from ticket and merchandise sales and the percentage of people who donate to the Champions Club almost specifically because of the hockey program it adds up to quite a bit of money, and that should free up more money to help fund the sports that can't fund themselves. And before this argument starts...the sports that make money and are recognized as powers and draw attendance as such will always have the higher paid coaches, at UND it is hockey, at Montana it is football, at Duke it is basketball, etc... when UND gets to the point where NDSU has been the last couple years, or Montana and Montana State are, the football program salaries will raise with the results, but for now I can't see them hiring a high dollar coach for a program right out of transition. I'm not trying to sound negative, I wish they would hire the best coach available in the nation if they had an opening, but I know they couldn't justify paying him what he would demand right now.
  17. I agree, we've talked about that on here before and I think a lot of people, if not most, think that would be a better indicator for the postseason.
  18. I agree he has been committing some bad penalties, the stick-to-the-head yesterday was ridiculous and pretty much sealed the game, but I'd hate to see the makeup of the team without him. This UND team doesn't have the same physicality and attitude it has in past years, and I think to an extent we miss that. Sioux teams have always been known for tough physical (some would say too physical) play and barking at the other team, but we don't have guys like Blood and Malone and Hextall and Lammy this year that carry that attitude, and we need Mac to bring some of that enforcer attitude to the game for the younger guys to see and light a fire under.
  19. "Just say no to KRACH." Only because it doesn't matter at playoff time.
  20. Final SOG 41-31 Notre Dame UND played better than the score indicated, had many good scoring chances and played better defensively than they have the last few games. Unfortunately 2 of the 4 goals given up by Zane would have to classified as 'bad goals'. A split at this place is not too bad.
  21. And Grimaldi scores on a soft goal, 4-2 1:13 left.
  22. Well, no reason for that, that could spell doom for us.
