  1. Love these! Similar to the late 70’s or early 80’s when they were that sparkle grey helmet with ND interlocking logo. I tried to find a color photo of those old helmets but cannot…they were so cool; if anyone can find a photo of that helmet, please post.
  2. NAHL has 300 + NCAA D1 college commits this year which is 2nd only to the USHL. Every team in the NCHC has more recruits out of the NAHL than UND for whatever reason. The NAHL has become a much deeper league the past few years in some part due to the fact that the 5th year (covid year) has kept 200-300+ players out of college hockey. Those kids that take the 5th year of eligibility are pushing down Jr players for another year that would be playing DI. Typically the NAHL roster would be at least a year older and a little bigger in size than USHL roster but would not have the high end skill of USHL roster. The NAHL is quite a bit more physical than the USHL; especially the ‘dirty South’ division as it’s affectionally called. The South typically is the strongest division - this year no different as Oklahoma proved by going 9-0 through the playoffs. The South leads the league in attendance as well with some teams averaging 2500+. http://nahl.com/player-advancement/college/ https://lscluster.hockeytech.com/statview/mobile/nahl/#/roster/1/271?league=1
  3. Not sure if smoked is the correct term but do know that Team ND won the last two NIT tournaments against teams stacked with big time college commits. This is a tournament in the past they did indeed get smoked year in and year out and to win it back to back was unthinkable a few years ago. That same group also beat then ranked #2 team in all of AAA NorthStar Christian Academy 7-4 on their home ice last year and year before took Shattuck to the brink only to lose a heartbreaker at Shattuck . Not bad for some ND kids that come together without any real practice time together.
  4. Probably a good thing SDSU and NDSU don’t play Tennis. in another note I see our Track and Field teams are slotted right behind the usual…
  5. Not a banner year for UND sports. Zero Conference titles. Only two teams with a winning conference record (women’s basketball and football). Zero teams finished ahead of NDSU or SDSU in all the sports…that one is tough to swallow and has to be addressed and fixed asap!
  6. 4 tix for Friday night...great seats in lower bowl on the isle behind the net UND shoots at 1st and 3rd period. $35 each. Text 701-739-5623 if interested

  10. He’s not a good QB…The Bison probably have 3 that are better…their last 3 certainly were. The QB play in that game yesterday by both teams was tough to watch.
  11. Did you watch the game?…I don’t care where he played; why does that even matter? He didn’t pass the eye test. He doesn’t see the field that well, throws a lazy ball, is not very accurate, is not much of a threat to run, and apparently didn’t pass the eye test in Texas either or he would still be there. Just because he plays in the Big Ten does not make him an elite QB…that Nebraska team is awful for the Big Ten. They would get beat by 60 by the Alabamas and Clemson’s of the college football world.
  12. There is no chance that QB for Nebraska is better than every QB in the MVFC.
  13. 3-9? Show me the other two wins…this Nebraska team is awful!
  14. It’s not a big deal…I guess if it was the case in 2016 it worked fine…just think too many cooks in the kitchen can spoil a good meal.
  15. So every upperclassman should have a letter?
  16. 5 captains…why not 8?…or did they run out of A’s?
  17. I fully expected all the T’s were crossed and I’s were dotted when they tore down Memorial Stadium…looks like sh$t there…what was the hurry to tear it down if this project still has hurdles to cross?
  18. Anyone know why work has halted here since about the time this photo was taken 2 months ago?
  19. Well…in reality… Spicer (at age 17 as a high school senior) had 7 points (2 goals 5 assists) in 13 games vs D1 college teams this year - pretty good college teams at that. USNDT record was 8-5 vs those pretty good college teams as well (including a shutout against our favorite team). Spicer’s PPG average against D1 college teams this year was .54 which was better than 10 of the forwards we have returning...only 3 had better than .54 PPG; Gaber, Schmaltz, and Costantino...so there’s that
  20. Quinn and Hastings were the assistant coaches in the 2005 World Jrs in GF (Sandelin head coach). They both got along very well and there was a lot of respect between them.
  21. Dillon Kuntz is in New Mexico right now with the Ice Wolves of the NAHL
  22. I call BS...they did a couple outdoor games in West Fargo yes between the have nots in ND...the MN HS tourney and SD HS tourney was not their production, they just aired the feed. Not once during their weekly magazine shows did they mention ND HS hockey and no tweets either about ND high school hockey ever...it was HS football and basketball or it was nothing.
  23. Midco is all about high school football/basketball only, they could care less about hockey unless it is UND which really butters their bread. Ditto for high school baseball/softball…they don’t care. Half the problem is there is no publicity machine or engine for ND high school hockey. There is no central organization pulling in the same direction. No one has taken the reins to promote the sport. There is no Youth Hockey Hub or Hockey Talk or any chatter at all promoting Prep hockey in ND like there is in MN.
  24. Looking for a great place to go before the games in Omaha? Check out The Lemon Drop Lounge. Great Dive Bar! Food is great, prices are really great, and the people are fantastic! Stumbled upon this place on a youth hockey trip. It is located in an old corner store grocery not too far from Baxter Arena. The folks are mostly first responders (police, fire, emergency, etc). So friendly and what a fun group! $1 Busch Lights on Friday afternoon and get the lemon drop shot...so good! They want to become the go to place for North Dakota fans - they love us from North Dakota so go check it out! Lemon Drop Lounge 5423 S 36th St, Omaha, NE
