Won't ever forget the SCSU game...Huskies up 2-0 about 30 seconds into the game...Gopher fan in front of me turns around and promptly razzes my 8 year old kid about how his team is "gonna get smoked tonight!"...told kid to relax and remember that the teams play 3 periods and not to worry, the Sioux will win the title...Sioux tie it up before the end of the period...Gopher fan now can't even bear to turn around and look at me...Sioux go on to put the hammer down in the third...ballgame...all smiles when the horn sounds...except for the guy in front of me.

In a day and age where athletes trade up wives like they're buying a new car, I think Kurt Warner should be commended for not "upgrading" after making millions in the NFL. Back on topic, has Seth Jones made a decision yet?

I can't remember who usually starts this yearly topic but figured I would jump on it this year...what section are you sitting in for this year's games and how do you choose what jersey you're going to wear? Is there any criteria that you use to determine what jersey you wear to the game? White jersey when the team wears white, black because you got a ketchup stain on your white jersey at the last game you attended? Green all weekend because it stands out in the crowd? Is this the weekend to bust out the throwback or do you stick with the newer Reebok style jersey? Same jersey all weekend because you're superstitious or do you change it up? Inquiring minds want to know!

A much easier road trip, indeed, NDH, but who wouldn't want to take a road trip to the Sunshine State in the middle of a long cold winter and catch some Fighting Sioux hockey?

Thanks for the back-up, jodcon. My post was obviously tongue-in-cheek humor as it is typical on this site for people to jump off the ship after an 0-2 start to the season or a loss to Minnesota in October. Anyone who knows me knows my opinion of Coach Hakstol and the job he has done for the University of North Dakota hockey team.

I think you're TECHNICALLY correct...October of 2006 was the last time Maine played Minnesota at the X...the first being March of 2002. The 2005 game was at Maricci.

That's not the only time that the Black Bears have played Minnesota since that national championship game, though. The teams met in the first round of the 2005 NCAA regional at Mariucci Arena, with the Gophers winning 1-0 in OT.

I was at that regional at the X...I am still surprised that St Cloud didn't advance to the Frozen Four that season.

I was at the National Concrete Center last season (for the first time in several years) and noticed that they had taken down all of the sponsorship banners. Nothing says minor-league hockey like banners hanging from the rafters reading "Herbergers" or "Bill's Amoco."

Unless my eyes deceived me last weekend, it certianly appeared that Gopher players have dyed their hair for the upcoming mite jamboree Final Five. That alone should be worthy of a sign mocking their team.

If CC's athletic department had any budget at all, you would have to think Scott Owens would be on the hot seat. I also think Dick Umile might be shown the Gasparini/Woog/Sauer ticket to the door after UNH's disastrous season.

The wife wants to come along on Thursday night and kill my buzz for the evening enjoy some Sioux hockey...looking for 1 ticket for the Sioux/St Cloud game. Thank you.

I'm a good Catholic boy myself, NDH...cue the eggs and French toast, please. I'll make sure Tom and Jossie get the heads-up on the Catholics who will be in attendance. I will also make sure that the "Welcome Sioux fans" is on the north AND south side of the sign so people know where they're headed when they're coming up north on Rice Street.
