  2. Hammer will finish out the season doing the hockey games. Midco is bringing a guy from South Dakota in to do the bb broadcasts. Greg Enkers will now host the coaches show with Brad Berry, UND Sports Extra and his current NCHC show, Between the Boards.
  3. it's ok. They stay pretty wide on their main camera and have a massive scorebug in the top left. I believe announcers are just the radio feed. They do have replays. And it's 720p but I believe only a wide and slightly less wide camera. No corner or slash cameras for other angles.
  4. I've already donated more to UND since they became the Fighting Hawks than all of the other previous donations combined. None of it had to do with a nickname.
  5. Looks like Home Benches are on the far side and there are no penalty boxes on the close side.
  6. Here are the three geaux_sioux created with the proper green:
  7. You weren't kidding. I downloaded the green one to play around with it in Photoshop and it definitely opens up as the right green. Looks a lot better, but still pretty busy. Edit: It's because it was created in CMYK colors and not RGB. Hosting sites apparently can't distinguish that way. FYI, I made a couple changes and cleaned it up a little bit:
  8. Or they're 6-2 with wins over teams that have a combined 14 wins, including two over the 1-7 lions. The packers are 6-2 and have wins over teams with a combined 19 wins and have yet to play the lions.
  9. I ran into a handful of teachers at UND who would have been great educators had they been able to separate their political persuasion from their teachings. Unfortunately, they weren't great teachers BECAUSE they couldn't educate without personal opinion on a weekly basis.
  10. That's some fantastic information that has nothing to do with my post. I replied to a poster who said he wanted a team that was one of the top teams in the Big Sky year in and year out. Last time I checked, tournament wins, road OOC records, NCAA tournament games and the CIT don't make you a good or bad Big Sky Team. In case you missed this part of my post: That was what I was discussing. Edit: Way to follow through with the mention of NDSU. It wouldn't be a Darrel post without that. Now we just need FS4L to come in and say we should just go to NAIA, then Darrel to reply with a fire Jones, and Fetch to talk about getting an AHL hockey team named the Fighting Sioux and we've covered all our bases.
  11. His teams have finished in the top 3 of the Big Sky 2 out of the 3 years he has been a coach. I don't think he deserves to stick around after the year regardless of results, but his teams have performed well in conference most of the years he has been around. If someone finished with the following spot in their conference standings the last five years, would they be on the hot seat especially after losing a big senior class? 10th, 2nd, 3rd, 2nd, 3rd. And how about this for the post-season tournament the last 5 years: DNQ, 2nd, 3rd, 1st, 1st. Again, that's with losing a big senior class prior to last year.
  12. You clearly don't have any experience running two sporting events in the essentially the same building back to back. As someone who does, I can say it is not easy. Who are these magical workers that are allowed to leave late in the second half? It surely isn't the events staff, as they need to be there for the whole game. The game is on Bigsky TV which means there is an in-house video crew. Are those people supposed to leave during the second half? What happens if the game has 40 fouls in each half? What if it goes to overtime? Even if it doesn't is it a good idea to have people work 3-5 for pregame, then 5-7 for the game, then 7-10:30 for hockey without any breaks? Let's leave the scheduling to the people who do it for a living.
  13. Due to the Root sports/Big Sky contract conference games can't be on FCS.
  14. Just a quick tidbit about why the camera guy was shooting so wide last night... many schools without the budget of UND use the wide game cam with the score bug superimposed as their coaches feed. It's what the coaches record, both home and away to review following the game. CC is one of those teams, mainly because of the low quality of the World Arena. The arena still runs SD via a Tricaster switcher, which is what many high schools use. Unfortunately, it doesn't have multiple outputs including the ability to superimpose a scorebug on a separate output. That's why you see the scorebug on the in-arena scoreboard as well. They're pulling the "CC" feed and putting it on the board.
  15. Planning on heading to the Doubletree for some pregame drinks both nights.
  16. I've got Seats 9-14 on Saturday in the same row. We have one extra, so if anyone is looking for 3 tickets to the game, we can work out a combo between the two parties so you have seats 7-9.
  17. It's amazing how my feelings on the secondary option have changed since the 5 were released. Roughriders has always been my top choice once Cavalry was eliminated. However, prior to the vote I said I was ok with Fighting Hawks. Then the results came out and suddenly I'd rather be Nodaks than Fighting Hawks. Roughriders is still number one and that's who I'll vote for again but it's weird how much my thoughts have transitioned based solely on the results of round one.
  18. there are a few restaurants within walking distance, including Buffalo Wild Wings and an Outback. Everything is just north of the arena in a small shopping center.
  19. I never had to register. I got an email from the Alumni Assoc and then just waited until the voting email arrived.
  20. Correct. UND will continue to play as North Dakota forever. That's a win/win!
  21. Recovering from the flu
  22. Well first, it's called an Offensive coordinator. Second, I don't think there are any limitations on where UND coaches open a search although they obviously have connections in the midwest.
  23. That's a completely different agreement than being an RSN. They're a local station which has contracts with Dish/DirecTV/Midco to carry their channels. DirecTV has those with all 210 markets in the US.
  24. Caggiula was the first man up on a few faceoffs last weekend (Johnson was on the wing) in the offensive zone and I remember him winning 3-4 in a row that setup great chances. I was confused why then later in the game Johnson was taking all of the faceoffs for that line.
  25. As long as we see the formation we ran on the last play of the game against Portland State, I'm cool with it.
