AF should stay with Atlantic Hockey. It's smart for them to be a top dog in AH. In the WCHA they will be going up against slightly tougher teams and may not make the tournament again.

The contract wouldn't need to be renegotiated. It's a tier II broadcast rights contract. Who UND plays doesn't matter, Midco would do any home games not picked up by B10 Network or any other national network. Midco isn't getting many more viewers for B10 teams except for Minnesota. Their viewership is UND fans.

The Frozen Four is essentially sold out except for team-specific tickets. The FF doesn't rely on fanbases to fill the arena, especially the first time in Chicago.

That familiarity does help, but if you take a look at the four games on either side of that matchup, AF was giving up 3.2 goals per game. If you look at the last 10 Air Force games, they're giving up 1.2 goals per game and 4 of those 10 games have been shutouts. Quite a different team and why they have just two losses in their last 17 games.

Sioux Falls is definitely top 50 places I would want to see UND hockey in MN/ND/SD. I don't see a lot of people wanting to go there. You may get more Omaha fans but fewer (is it possible?) Fans from other schools.

I haven't seen anybody posting about watch parties so I'm curious if anybody knows of some. Feel free to post any unofficial gatherings you know of too. I'll be in Colorado Springs for Friday's game and Denver for Saturday's so if there are any groups getting together that would be great!

While I'd say a majority of UND fans on here are decent, smart people that's definitely not the case when it comes to the entire fanbase. There are some very vocal idiots that complain about anything.

It has already been shown that the consensus on Siouxsports is not the consensus among UND fans. Schloss deals with all types of UND fans, those that are die-hards and those that are casual much more than any of us. It may not be the main reason you want to go back to the X but Brad has had interactions with people who hate the TC because it's not the Final Five at the X.

As fans, would you be willing to pay an extra $10-$20 total to see the games at the X? The cost to rent the X vs TC will definitely be higher.

And you're going up against one of the hottest defensive teams in the nation. If WMU gets to 3 goals, they win as AF doesn't have the offensive firepower. But Shane Starett could easily lead them to the Frozen Four.

Josh Fenton has been actively asking for fan input about Target Center and a possible move to the X. This week, you'll see Brad Schlossman post a twitter poll about the TC/X. That is a direct result of the NCHC Commissioner having a discussion with Brad about which way UND fans may lean. The conference does care about what the fans have to say and takes it into account. The NCHC was never going to leave the Target Center during the contract so to assume that fan's voices haven't been heard is ridiculous. Will the future site of the Frozen Faceoff be decided by the fans? Definitely not, but it will play a role in where the tournament goes. With the final upgrades to the Target Center happening this summer, I fully expect the FF to be back at TC next year. After that it really comes down to the numbers both from a business and fan experience aspect.
