    Hobey Baker

Not surprised....2 really really good college hockey players.
  2. Got a buddy that's an analytical engineer. His projection timeframe wise for ND to reach the roughly 370 death estimated by IHME is just under 4 years if the current social measures and virus rates were to be kept in place. Not sure if his analysis is any better than IHME or whatever model Walz is going by but was interesting to listen to. ...and I'll take the under on the 370 by 8/4.
  3. Sounds like the DOJ is starting to see some around the country giving civil liberties the middle finger.........
  4. 2000+ hospital beds in ND. 10 current COVID inpatients in the state. Sanford wants to turn Fargodome into a COVID field hospital. Healthcare systems in ND are going broke.
  5. You are a in completely unique and unfortunate situation when compared to a vast majority of healthcare systems in the nation. Mayo just predicted a $3B loss through year end. Cutting staff hours and salaries....on all levels. Ancillary, nurses, therapists, doctots. Same holds true in our area and throughout most of the nation. Systems are awaiting this "surge". Lots of hospitals beds running at 20-40% capacity just waiting. Lots of unattended medical needs not being met. Know your front line work in the most impacted area in this country is something most can't even imagine. Thank you.
  6. Yup........ 2.2M potential deaths down to around 60K all in the name of social distancing??? In some states they're close to bringing in the armed guard and tanks to make sure family can't even visit family if they want. You do realize even with FDA approved treatment options people still are dying from AIDS?
  7. On behalf of the 30M+ that will be unemployed in the next 3-4 weeks and the every changing models that got us into this mess please accept my/our apologies.
  8. Just giving some perspective and if you're a fan of the WHO here's your global numbers as of 10 minutes ago. I'll spare you the deaths totals from communicable diseases and the number of abortions this year. Coronavirus deaths as reported is 107000 globally. UNICEF reports 2.1M kids under the age of 5 have died this year.
  9. All those people need is "proper guidance" to avoid being a statistic as some have pointed out here.
  10. True centerman......he's too good though not to be top 6 on any team in the country. Except maybe this team.
  11. Of those 9 forwards watch out for Weatherby........IMO he'll make the biggest jump from this past season to next.
  12. I'll check the box "Yes" for you that MN will have a third of all US deaths. Your number manipulation in this thread is impressive though.
  13. Way to dodge the question. What does NY have to do with MN? You might as well bring Italy back into the conversation.
  14. So again the "experts" have 60k+ deaths nationwide by 8/4 and MN will have a third of that total???
  15. Really.....in a normal year around 115K die from suicides and drug ODs. Plus on average 2.5% of deaths in US are alcohol related. Got it. Collateral damage. What's "proper guidance" weeks or months from now when millions have lost everything?
  16. We have 18K deaths over 12 weeks. We have 17M unemployed over 3 weeks. Those are concrete numbers.
  17. Once this blows over do you think the indirect deaths will out number the direct? The death rate of suicide or a drug OD death is 100%.
  18. Completely misleading. The coronavirus "season" started in this country around 12 weeks ago which puts the average around 220 deaths per day. I'm sure that average will unfortunately climb as time goes on.
  19. Etiology is a cause. Judgment is a sensible conclusion. IMO the death total will be overestimated due to conclusions....not actual cause. On the topic of sensible conclusions I can't wait to heard from Fauci and Birx today........
  20. From a published article from the Marshfield (WI) Clinic. A system I am very familiar with. "Etiologically specific" doesn't encompass "probable" or "presumed". To normally label the cause of death based on "probable" or "presumed" is lazy and misleading. But if it's required to make the COVID numbers work so be it.
  21. I left a few years ago. I knew some of those involved but from some I know well who are still members there it's nothing short of comical. Frat party atmosphere gone bad.
  22. The Fargo Fear-um predicted a few weeks ago a top 5 flood. With lockdown glad we did have to deal with that projection and the possible sandbagging.
