  1. Yeah, it was Wheeler, and from what I know, Big Joe had every right to do what he did.
  2. To be honest, I actually expect Nelson to get cut. He just hasn't transitioned fully yet to the speed of the college game, and if that's the case, he likely isn't ready for a World Junior appearance. I'm not knocking his skills, because he is very young and VERY skilled...he's just still developing.
  3. I went to a Gamblers/Force game in Green Bay the first week of the season. I didn't really pay attention to many details other than watching Colton St. Clair specifically, and a couple other known NCAA recruits. Gothberg didn't get the start that night, but looked a little shaky in warmups. He seems to be doing decent, but nothing stellar. He's still young, though, so I'm not making any assumptions, just pointing out what I saw. St. Clair looked like Gregoire v2.0...won't win a goal-scoring title, but will still tally plenty of points while doing a lot of the little things right in a smooth, yet tenacious matter.
  4. One would think it'd be a GREAT recruiting opportunity. A few talented youngsters may see the Sioux North Dakota on the ice up there and say, "that's where I want to play one day". It certainly wouldn't hurt. It'd be cool if they could pit a WHL team against UND.
  5. Whatever happens, I just hope we play in Green Bay for the regional this year. That'd make my day.
  6. It is broken, but Frattin isn't the reason why. He has 6 of the 11 PP goals. Only one player in the country has more PP goals. Then, add in the fact that Frattin creates other goals when on the ice for the PP. Not to mention at least one or two goals Frattin has scored with in a couple seconds of a PP ending that don't count as a PP goal. It's the other lines that aren't doing squat, mainly when Kristo is out there. Kristo and Genoway are launching all these shots into traffic over and over from the point hoping for the best. Frattin arguably does the same thing; however, Frattin takes his time, finds a hole, and puts it right where he wants it, resulting in a quality shot in a place where the goalie can't see it nor stop it. He doesn't shoot blindly into nothing like Chay and Danny over and over. No Brett Hextall and no Jason Gregoire spells much of the same story for at least a little while longer as well, as both are good PP guys.
  7. No one does a burger like around here. Flame grilled burgers on a lightly toasted buttered hard roll. None of this crappy bun action with a burger cooked on a griddle with a slab of American cheese thrown on.
  8. I agree about Kristo moving back up, but with Frattin, you don't fix what isn't broken. I liken Frattin's wrister from the point to Duncan's wrister from his "spot". It's kind of the same thing going on where it seems like 80% of his goals come from the same spot. The defense knows it's coming and they still can't stop it.
  9. I understand the process, I don't need an explanation. The thing is, the Sioux need help in areas that only they control. Basically, winning helps. The rest of the season is going to fly by (like it always does), and what does it hurt to discuss these things? That's part of this forum. There's only so much to discuss on a weekly basis, so why not the Pairwise?
  10. We are tied for the 2nd best RPI with Duluth, so there isn't much room for gaining points there, just maintaining that position. Our biggest room for improvement is against TUC teams and our Record against Common Opponents of the TUC's. The Common Opponent record is drastically effected by the Maine series, where that critical point comes in when being compared to the East coast schools who play Maine. A split would be a huge advantage over actual result. It's too early to look at the PWR when talking about Tournament Seeding, but it isn't too early to start discussing PWR because each weekend counts equally in the PWR. It's important to know how each series can effect your PWR standings. Who knows...what if UND drops a bunch of games no one would expect they'd lose and we are on the bubble? Then things get real interesting.
  11. Pairwise is up. I've been checking out some of the numbers. If Robert Morris can remain a TUC for the remainder of the season, that would be a huge weekend for us to sweep. That Maine weekend may end up being the difference between a 1 and 2 seed come the end of the season. Other than that, I like our chances of getting a one seed where we are at and with our upcoming schedule.
  12. I didn't get that memo.
  13. That came to my mind as well. I just hope they let him play like Gerbe and don't limit his abilities through dump and chase and cycle-cycle-cycle.
  14. Depends on what you consider "several years", because JP Lamoureux played pretty awesome for much of his senior season and was starting to garner some quiet Hobey talks in January of that season. Too bad the season ended the way it did.
  15. The Robert Morris series may have huge PWR implications. Currently, RMU is in the PWR. They are the last team in, so they are hanging on by a thread for now, but if we sweep them, and they stay as a TUC come the final PWR, that will be big. Our 7-5-1 record against TUC's isn't stellar and may cost us a couple spots down the stretch if we don't beat the rest of the TUC teams we face. Also, getting swept by Maine is already showing it's detriment rankings-wise because it will be very difficult to get that Head-to-head PWR point with those two head-to-head losses to them.
  16. You are actually wrong. The official school colors are quote: "green and pink", and are that because they were chosen after the Prairie Rose. Link: http://www.und.edu/aboutund/faq.html#a4
  17. I don't get what makes people like you bow down to a player like Genoway so much. It makes me wonder if you even watch the games because it's obvious that as good as he is at offense, his defense has been brutal at times (completely ignoring the fact that his primary responsibility IS defense). You think I don't like having Chay on my team, which is completely false. I like Chay Genoway's game a lot. I'm just pointing out that he can make the spectacular touchdown throw when you think the play is dead...but he also throws the game-changing pick far too often for someone of his age and skill. I'm sorry for speaking my mind, I will get on my knees for Mr. Chay Genoway like the rest of you. Anyone have some extra knee pads? I'm not used to this sort of thing.
  18. I thought I heard Tim H. on the radio mention something about Rocco Grimaldi not making the trip to GF, but didn't catch the whole conversation.
  19. This quote sums it up. It's too bad Genoway tries to do too much, because he's a liability as much as he is an asset...ala Brett Favre over the last decade.
  20. Manila Still funny nonetheless.
  21. If you require 4 year players with a minimum amount of games played each season for both, JP Lamoureux and Mario might take one following next season.
  22. I'm a bit fortunate to be able to watch the game today. Had to work last night and at 2:00 am when I finally finished, I quick checked to see what the final score was, only to see it was postponed until today. It'll be another tough game that the guys can't take a shift off.
  23. What about us Wisconsin Sioux fans that got the same storm.
  24. The pink doesn't bother me because it isn't a men's athletic color. It's only an official university color because of the prairie rose the colors were chosen after.
