  1. I'm just glad I never got the option to root for the Vikings being from Wisconsin. That statement should tell you where my heart is for Sunday's game. My feelings of late have been wanting to: puke, pass out, dizziness, exuberance, fear...pretty much all of the above. Sunday will be a big relief, win or lose.

    Jerseys

I have catologued nearly all Sioux jerseys, the only ones I'm missing time periods from are the football jersey era for the most part. In terms of everything since roughly 1950, I have high-res logos from each (including arm-patches and primary crest logos or script), documented time periods for each logo, graphical representations of each, materials used, etc... In my avatar to the left, it shows every green Sioux jersey worn from 1958-2009, in chronological order (made each one by hand, including some of the logos). It gets confusing in some of the 50s era jerseys because, for example, they'd use "x" home jersey for 6-8 years or so, but change the away jersey during that same time period. So, when they changed a home or away sweater style, they didn't necessarily change both home and road. The information AZSioux has for his current retros I spent hours documenting to confirm as much as possible...but, the best part is, there's still more to know...which continues to make it fun and interesting.
  3. The inspiration from this one came from Reebokhockey.com. I had to improvise due to the limited photos I have for use, so it's similar but not identical in style to those. All-in-all, it turned out pretty decent I think. Thanks for all the support from everyone. Enjoy
  4. Finally got a chance to work on it today. Yesterday's storms put a damper on doing on work. Give me another hour or two and it should be done.
  5. That makes sense, to a degree. However, if it wasn't incredibly serious, there's not much reason to wanting to be near home and around your family either.
  6. The DOT Line nickname spread nationally and was even used during the airing of the Regional and Frozen Four that year.
  7. It's pretty much a snow day for me tomorrow, so you can expect the new February edition as soon as I wake up and get to work.
  8. I'm gonna be a day or two late with this one. Had a super busy weekend. My apologies.
  9. Gregoire Trupp
  10. At what point does Steven Stamkos start gaining household notoriety. He is incredible at putting the puck in the net.
  11. No, the NCAA will determine that the name will hurt the feelings of too many people who have lost their own lives or friends/family's lives in a Tsunami.
  12. We can only hope they listened to every word those great people said. Keep fighting.
  13. That's pretty good...if he's golfing.
  14. Born and raised a Sconnie, my heart, soul, body, and mind are infatuated with the Green Bay Packers. I am very nervous.
  15. You also have to remember college hockey is very different from the Blais/Gasparini days. 1) Neither won a title in a 16 team NCAA Tournament format. 2) Parity is MUCH greater in college hockey today. Anyone can beat anybody on any given day in today's college hockey world...especially in a one-and-done tournament. 3) Recruiting is much different today than it was under Blais/Gasparini. With our immaculate facilities, we've garnered some great recruits. But, great recruits are typically much younger, opposed to the more seasoned kids that won us many titles. Also, these younger, yet more skilled, kids tend to leave early, disrupting the roster frequently. Notice how Blais never won a title in the NEW Ralph, only in the old one, with a much different style of roster? Blais even had Parise/Bochenski/Murray. Hak has done incredible in his time here, and has won everything but a National Championship. If you give him some time, he will do it. You have to remember, our cold streak of no titles is 10 (going on 11) years...however, this streak started with four years of Blais not winning a title after the 2000 championship.
  16. I thought they were the same guys...they did, in fact, both wear #26 while at UND, right?
  17. Well, as long as Yale is #1 overall, that will lockup one of those two eastern regionals. I'd say chances are pretty good UND doesn't go farther than Green Bay or St. Louis. If Duluth stays ahead of us in the PWR, they'll get Green Bay for sure, though, which is disappointing.
  18. Listening to Eids during the Fighting Sioux hockey show (whatever it's called) that Hennessy hosts, Brad didn't admit to saying he's going to leave early, but it sure sounded like it's probable. He definitely didn't rule it out...
  19. Just like I said after last week's games. Mario goes out there and acts/chirps/gives little cheap shots like he's a tough guy, and like I said, he can't back it up physically. Put Davidson in there.
  20. This isn't a season where we need to grow our newcomers to the team. This is a season where we have all the key ingredients to win a title, so if it means sitting a guy like Forbort, so be it. I'm not implying that I agree that Forbort has or hasn't struggled, I'm just pointing out what I feel when it comes to benching someone like Forbort or Nelson.
  21. I wonder how many loonies the tickets will cost.
  22. Jim, I also heard recently that any team with an RPI above .500(?) is considered a TUC now when calculating your winning percentage against TUC teams for individual comparisons. There are still only 25 teams that are on the PWR rankings, but, like mentioned above, any team with the RPI above .500 counts towards your TUC win percentage. Maybe you can confirm that.
  23. I thought Minnesota was Brown..? $hit brown and p!ss yellow, right?
  24. Me and a few buddies went to a casino in Green Bay once. THEY thought it'd be funny to all wear Sioux jerseys at "Oneida Bingo & Casino", so that we did...even though my buddies didn't like Sioux hockey, much less any hockey. We go walking into the casino donning three different sweaters and immediately start getting looks. All of a sudden this group of four or five comes up to us and one guy was like, "hey, I love UND...I grew up in North Dakota! What are you guys doing in Green Bay?" We decided to have a little fun with a few people who were all tanked and we politely told him that we were on our way to our next game in New York against Cornell (it was the week before that series). This guy was like, "THAT IS AWESOME....guys check this out, these guys play for the Sioux, they will play in the NHL one day!" So his friends (a couple ladies and their spouses) were like, that's awesome. They wanted pictures with us and our autographs, so we kindly obliged, all while trying to hold back our inner laughter. After that charade, we started getting employees coming up to us and a few other random folks. We couldn't stop laughing pretty much the entire night.
