I love when the Gophs come to town...the freshman get to see the pinnacle of what it means to be a Sioux hockey player. The Ralph is rocking, the adrenaline is pumping, and hopefully the beatdown follows.

Robert Morris isn't in CHA anymore.

Here is another example of a shirt being called a "Mascot Tee". This Florida State Seminoles shirt is an "adidas Florida State Seminoles Super Soft Vintage Mascot T-Shirt", and it doesn't even have any person/animal reference, just their "FS" logo. All it is, and it's the same story with the Sioux one, is a name for the model of the shirt. http://www.dickssportinggoods.com/product/index.jsp?productId=4016877 Also, the debate over the term mascot that has occurred on and off over the last couple years on here should be settled by the definition. The definition of the term "mascot" is: an animal, person, or thing adopted by a group as its representative symbol and supposed to bring good luck. -Random House Dictionary, found on dictionary.com A logo, as seen on the shirt, is a "thing", as described in the definition, and easily fits in line with the term "mascot".

I just watched NHL Overtime on Versus, and one guy on their ripped Zajac's play pretty bad...on the defensive side. He basically said he's sucked. I peeked at the team's +/-, and Zajac is at a sub-par -9, but that is FAR from worst on the team. Other forwards like Kovalchuk are as bad as -30. Sounded pretty unfair, especially considering that Zajac seemed to be a guy who earned his way into the lineup each night for not only a solid offensive game, but a good defensive game as well. It has to be hard to put in your full effort nightly at this point if you are a New Jersey Devil. They've, as a team, been brutal (injuries aside).

I'm 99% sure that's the name of the shirt style from the company. Just like this shirt isn't literally a "Shootout", although that's the model name of this shirt from Reebok: They likely mass produce generic logo'd shirts for a ton of universities depicting the primary logo.

We have a winner. No one took the bait though.

I'm about 95% sure that the Vikings won't win a game the entire rest of 2011.

Toews is the 2nd leading vote getter for the All-Star game this year, behind some other no-name Canadian. Possible captain?
-
I like the guy's thinking with the Sioux, but I have to say he seems way off base with most of his other picks. Heck, most of his other predictions are very generic and trendy.
-
Why is it that you and USCHO seem to have varying PWR Standings?
-
Toews returned to action tonight and had a nice night....featuring a [ugly] goal (game-winner) and an assist. He played against Matt Greene, who (like usual) didn't put up any points (nor penalty minutes )

As long as you can still cook and clean, I'm sure your husband will be very understanding of your unfortunate situation. All kidding aside, I hope it heals quick for ya. I can't imagine how painful it is.

What are your dimensions? What's funny is the Widescreen version still isn't wide enough for my own computer. Sometimes I make a quick one up that fits my needs, sometimes I don't. This month I just made sure my background was black and did the regular widescreen one and it works decent for what it is. Maybe next month I'll make a wider widescreen. Anyone else having sizing issues?

The fake sneak wasn't a bad call, it was just poorly executed. Jackson would have walked into the end zone if he would have had a ball he could catch clean. Doesn't matter anymore in hindsight, but you're right, it could have been a tough play to swallow had they lost. I think the play call before that was dumber. They just completely loaded up the center of the field the play the handed it to Kuhn. This also means that the Bears loaded up the box. It's just too many bodies, in my opinion, and doesn't create any opportunities for the runner to find a hole, even if the blocking is decent.

NFC North Final Standings: 1) Chicago 2) Green Bay 3) Detroit 4) Minnesota Wasn't the way I hoped the regular season would turn out for my Packers, but they're in the playoffs, so that means there's a chance. Gophers hockey fell from its high horse...as did the Vikings. Twins next?

Dustin Byfuglien: 42 Games Played.....16 goals, 25 assists for 41 pts.....as a defenseman. I don't think anyone expected offensive numbers quite THAT good for Big Buff after moving to Atlanta, even if he would have stayed at forward.

Drew Stafford notched his 11th, 12th, and 13th goals of the season last night for his second hat trick in 8 games. His 13 goals have come in only 23 games so far this season. He is 2nd on the team in goals, behind Thomas Vanek's 14...Thomas playing in 15 more games than Drew. It's nice to see him light the lamp like he has this season. The guy always seemed to be able to have that huge scoring ability, but almost seemed to sleepwalk through portions of the season. Hopefully he can sustain it. Oh, and Goon, both of Stafford's hat tricks came against Boston this year.

I meant what I said as more of a credit to Dell than a knock on Eidsness. I defended Eidsness a lot during the last couple years when people were ragging on him despite being a solid goaltender. He is not the same goaltender this year, though...period. Yes, he may be able to jump right back in the mix and rotate with Dell frequently, but I just don't see it. Dell's best game is better than Eidsness' best game.
-
How many more starts does Eidsness see if Dell doesn't get kidnapped/lost/stolen/hurt/blind or completely blow up? I can't see more than just a couple at this rate, and I'm OK with that, because Dell has been a stud and I think the team along with most of us trust his play a lot more than Eidsness, even when Eidsness was winning a MacNaughton and a Broadmoor.

Google. It isn't easy sometimes though.

That's not a schedule of anyone's (that I'm aware of)...just a list of bottom-feeders (minus Vermont) that he listed as tongue-in-cheek opponents we could schedule.

That Maine series is going to be a big thorn in our butts to try and maintain a #1 seed. Top Hockey East teams like BC and UNH are going to continue to hold the Common Opponents point against us because of it. If we maintain a good RPI, that gives us a point over each of them, but like Jim said, the TUC percentage will be the deciding factor against both teams. UND must play at a high level against all TUC's from here on in. If so, we'll be a #1 seed. If we slip up, we'll be a #2 seed at best.

808287 is right. RM swept Miami last year IIRC.

Dalut will be donning new jerseys to go along with their fancy oil refinery.
