Ed Belfour had as many points as Zach Yon and Dixon Bowen combined this season so far (each have one assist). They combine for 30 games played this season to Eddie's 34 in 1986-87.

Ryder Donovan is the epitome of what the Brad Berry era has become. Berry isn't just a coach/recruiter....he's essentially the General Manager of the program. HIs management of the program is so poor to this point there might be irreparable damage done by the time this is all figured out. Berry can coach. He's a softy that the players could talk to. But, that can only work so long before it becomes a problem.

Of course. We're three years removed from a National Championship which means we're reloading any year now, silly. Plus, we outshot them!

This team doesn't own business suits. Those were funeral suits. Old time North Dakota hockey has died.

No doubt. Even UND's best teams don't have the skill that this USA had. However, USA played Finland. UND played Canisius.

USA's 0-5 on the PP and UND's 0-5 on the PP were not the same thing. It felt like USA could have scored on just about any of them. Movement with the puck, movement without the puck, movement of the puck, great passing, good shots. Just didn't get one in....well they did, but a murderous call brought that one back. UND stands still while attempting to pass the puck around the perimeter, all while getting attacked because no one has the skill to beat a man with the puck. If you have any sort of skill, people can't pressure you because you can beat them positionally and create big-time chances. No one sits back in a box in fear of our PP, they are in total attack mode.

Berry has chuckled twice already in this post-game presser. Every word out of his mouth is cliche garbage right now. Absolute crap. Talking about how the team is going to rebound from adversity and it will show for the next three months. What about rebounding tonight?

Seattle would be winning if they'd stick to the process and change their name back to the Seasioux.

I hate how true that is.

Maybe the black is for the funeral, not for business.

You can actually scroll down in the game menu.

The more we lose right now, the faster the change we need will take place. I'm sadly ok with losing.

And that was when clutching and grabbing was worse than it is now.

2013-14 I believe was our worst scoring year since Hak had taken over. The top six forwards from a points standpoint totaled 161 points (65 goals) in 42 games. That's 3.8 ppg and 1.5 gpg. This year our top six forwards from a points standpoint have 47 total points (23 goals) in 18 games. That's 2.6 ppg and 1.2 ppg. 2013-14 was a frustrating year. This year is just awful. The good news in all this is, UND managed to sneak into the tournament that year, came to life a little, and made the Frozen Four (the start of three in a row, with the title coming in the third one).

Keep in mind, that's points, not goals. If those were goals, that pace is still probably the worst in who knows how long....probably ever.

Like I mentioned above. We have one forward with 10 or more points (he has 11). We have five forwards with more than four points. In January.
-
What's net front presence? The point of the game is rack up as many shots from blue line and side boards as possible. The bad news is, as far as I could tell, we came out healthy....which means we have the same team wearing green tomorrow. The good news is

Step 1) Bad recruiting. Step 2) Bad coaching of bad recruits. Step 3) Bad recruits sometimes turn into good recruits with good coaching. If you're reading this on step 3, bad recruits stay bad recruits. Step 4) Lose to Canisus, after getting swept at home by Western Michigan, after losing to Bemidji.

Tomorrow is January 5th. Currently there is ONE forward with ten points. ONE. 1. UNO. EIN. (out of languages) Currently there are five forwards with more than four points. Yes, it's still January. That is unacceptable and it starts at the top.

Does Chris Wilkie count?

I would agree that there were more talented forward groups, but the defensemen on that team were great top-to-bottom as well, something that wasn't always the case. Cam played above the expectation level that season as well. Hak's teams just found ways to lose on the defensive side, rarely the offensive side. But, the Denver team, those BC teams, Minnesota, and that BU team were all excellent teams in their own right that produced a ton of NHL talent. The only real head-scratcher that didn't make sense was the loss to Michigan in 2011, but even then it's one-and-done and anything can happen. Sometimes black hits ten times in a row on the roulette table too.

One thing I haven't been able to get out of my mind since last year is, how are we so talentless up front? It should be almost impossible for a school of UND's reputation, alums, history, tradition, facilities, etc to have this bad of players. It's like Berry tries not to get good players....that's the only explanation. I actually like our D and goaltending, so who's running the show on the forward recruiting?
-
I want to say what I'm thinking, but I'm going to count to 10 and re-evaluate.

We made it to page 4 without a photo of Jon Durno?

The jersey for auction is not the same as the jerseys the team wore on Saturday. The jerseys the team wore against the U18 team are modern air knit jerseys made to today's standards. The one the Sioux Shop is auctioning is period accurate to the late 50s. It is knit wool and has a much trimmer fit, amongst many other little details.
