Goon pretty much says it all for me in his second paragraph, when it comes to watching good college hockey, except I'd substitute Lucia for Blais, Gophers for UND and UND for Gophers. But I don't like pro hockey much at all, WAY to boring...I'd take a quality D1 College game anyday over any other sport... Why I like D1 hockey more: new guys every year and they don't whine about money odd man rushes more common quality opponents I can count on EVERY year to give a good series (UND, Mich, etc) atmoshere is more intimate and less glitzy beating the crap out of teams like JBSU, Mich Tech and 'Kato Out of the blue upset games WPoS

throwing anything on the ice is bad (cept hats) but to do so during a injury is truely classless! Then to think you were cool to do it is worse. WPoS

hey if you can't take any grief form a big fake smelly wet mascot, get a life too! Actually I know the ref from last night and he was pretty much fair in not calling penalties...I can't say what happened to the Latvian player as I was distracted by the whole ruckus behind me, but throwing things on the ice unless it is a hat for a hat-trick is bad form PERIOD! WPoS

So I go to the Gopher-Latvia "game" last night...as the Gophs are crushing the poor Latvians, Goldy gets out his big "sieve" hand and we all start sieving their second goalie...he happens to be standing next to this guy that just sat there...turns out mr. sit-on-my-hands was a UND fan, which is fine. So Goldy starts Sieving the guy...about this time there is a terrible situation developing on the ice...a Latvian player goes down with a BAD knee injury, as their trainer comes acrss the ice the UND guy grabs the hand and tosses it, YEP, right on to the ice, right by the injured guy...nice, the he promptly calls someone to laugh about his exploits...only to gert escorted out of the building shortly later, not laughing then...almost lookign like he had no idea why he was leaving. Hope it was none of you, but some random idiot who happened to be wearing a UND sweatshirt. WPoS

I'll remind you...it was the first win for the Gophers in many years and the first of Back 2 Back for them....hey, he made me say it! WPoS

In the Strib this morning they are reporting that preliminary DNA testing from the blood has matched DNA on her toothbrush.... http://www.startribune.com/stories/462/4255413.html I don't even want to say the bad words on here.... Just for you guys who expect it out of at least ONE Gopher fan...they will be there come the end of the season! This weekend's loss did hurt, and it hurt bad, but I will dissagrre with all the bashing going on about them not finishing in the top 5 of the WCHA. The JBSU swoon is starting and while I believe UND will win the regular season, by no means can you count out the Gophers yet. Come January and they drop 3 games they shouldn't, I'd agree the ship has capsized, but I still have faith and will just for the heck of it be the voice of dissention here, if for no other reason then to: a) give you guys someone to shake your heads at b) prove to be a HUGE prognosticator if I am right! That said, they had better put the best streak together since the dawn of Gopher hockey if they expect to make the NCAA's... As for Vanek's attitude, to some degree I agree he is almost not to worried about this season if he has decided to go pro next year (which may bite him). He has suddenly gotten a little hacky... WPoS P.S. yes we seem to have issues at UAA, I went up there lfor ast year's series and we almost dropped one up there then too, for some reason they seem to have our number up there...maybe it is the lack of REAL sunlight this time of year...

so what weekend will Murray be out? I need my star scorer for my league team! As for beating JBSU, you don't have to worry about it too much, they'll start beating themselves soon (RPI, UAA, etc). WPoS

well, I feel that the Gophs will easily be in the top three by the end of the season, hopefully #2 spot. I still think UND will have #1 record at the end of the season. WPoS

from my POV, I think UND will win the regular season WCHA title, and you are welcome to it too. Now the Broadmoor Cup...that is easily in the Gophers grasp, actually in almost anyone's grasp due to the playoff scheme. I think that a few here, like ScottM, have got it right, you may poo-poo Michigan, but they are ranked 5 or 6 nationally, and you can't be ranked that high this long into the season w/o having some reason for being there. And beating them in their own arena (AGAIN) is a HUGE morale booster for us as we have sucked wind at the beginning of this season. Our D is stiffening up and maybe someday soon we won't have to score 4 or more points to win a game. WPoS

BUZZZZ! Wrong answer, tell 'em why Wink! UND has split the last two seasons at Mecca...Saturday loss two years ago...2-1 and another Saturday loss last year 6-3...as for years befor that in the last ten, I know UND has not swept the Gophers there every year, I'd even say that you have a losing record there..... As for bringing signs into Mecca...big NO-NO...security WILL take them AND you run the risk of being escorted out of the building. WPOS

well for one thing, get them back on their heels and they go down faster than a $20000 ring in a bathroom sink trap. If you can shake up the goal tenders, they let anything in. Even the Gophers beat them 6-2! So you gys should have a sweep ready. WPoS

I ALWAYS bich about the refs, they all suck! Fire 'em all and get some REAL ones IMO! I'll donate $50 towards a salary for a yahoo that can be consistant and doesn't suck. WPoS
