Having waxed nostalgic in the last few days about the old Gopher barn, I was wondering what you guys miss/liked/hate about your old arena. WPoS

if you guys don't like TC transplant so much, quit complaining about it and get your admins to either: 1) "talk" to him via e-mail to behave better or 2) ignore his comments WPoS

hey I stayed out of it, give me some credit for that at least! refs are kinda like some ex g/fs I had: Can't live with 'em, can't shoot 'em....either way they just drive you nutty(er). WPoS

while it would be nice to think that refs could really be impartial, I doubt it is really possible. After all they are in their heart of hearts hockey type guys, and you KNOW they grew up gaining some type of opinion on teams. I just want them to be FAIR and CONSISTANT. I mean if a team goes undefeated ecuase they are that much better, who cares, they deserve it. It will only make others try to get better (as stated by others here). WPoS

um, yah, might want to check the date of the posts, I think alot of them were from EARLY in the summer, the more recent posts have CC a lot lower... WPoS

care to share? Maybe lots of letters from different schools along the same lines would be actually helpfull to the cause? WPoS

difference? so is it so difficult to have a safe game with out over-officiating it? I doubt our current crop of refs would know how. WPoS

is Mason the worst? Well, that depends on the game, I have seen Adam stink up an arena pretty bad also, IMO Mason and Adam are the worst of the bunch, with Champion the least of the evils. Adam won't even call checking from behind, his linesmen have to do it...I also think it was Adam that skated past J-Mart WHILE he was convulsing on the ice with out stopping play... As for how to make it better? Get rid of Sheppard, I agree it has just been going downhill. Sheppard wasn't a good ref in his own rights so why make him the head official? Kinda sounds like Dilbertism if you ask me. After putting a new head official in, I'd say PAY the guys. I have been told they get like 50 scoots to ref and travel expenses. Well maybe, just like everything else in life, you get what you pay for. After that, get a bigger pool of guys to use, and when someone calls a bad game, bench him and make him lose some $$$. Now, before all the ref types out ther get their grundies in a bunch, we all know a ref can't see EVERYTHING, but c'mon, some of these guys make it DANGEROUS out on the ice for the boys for the stuff they don't call! My $.02 WPoS

I think the "official" reason is to not obstruct other fan's view...personally I'd like to see some fun antics allowed, but the U has gotten so PC it is pathetic. WPoS

just head off a few possible flames, I think that UND IS the current #1 team in the nation and the ONE to beat. But I still like the Gophers. WPoS

hrm, nope that wasn't it. I even added SS.com as a trusted site with cookies allowed and still no joy. Any one else have any ideas? We are using XP and using multiple "users" (wife and I that is)....and am also using ZoneAlarm firewall... WPoS

with a sweep by the Gophers (now tied for 5th) of CC this weekend and 'Kato (should be a sweep) next week, I look forward to the measuring stick of the year when we play you guys! This is gonna be one heck of a series. Last years Gopher team had to beat CC to make things happen and this year UND is the one team that the Gophers need to beat/split with to prove they can play anyone. Tough tie for you guys last night, last year I was up at UAA and they do have a tendancy to clutch/grab/hold/slash to stay in a game. As for refs...well flame me all you want, but it has been said plenty of times when people blame refs for a game outcome: Good teams find a way to play through bad reffing. It looked like you guys had the shots on goal, but just could not find the stringy parts... WPoS awaiting the flames...
