Trupp on Friday Fratts for Saturday

The first post in the thread was simply stating a fact: Conrad is retiring. Mr. WYO Bison turned into a personal slam and political name calling we have all grown to loath during the campaign. I suspect Mr. WYO frustration has more to do with the R behind Berg's name then anything else. I'm not an R or a D, so don't think I'm being one sided here. Another thing to consider is that Berg has nothing to do with the Conrad seat or the US Senate, so why was his name even dragged into this?

Community Topics of interest at UND, in Grand Forks, and in North Dakota. No politics, please. We don't need your political mudslinging here.

Don't worry about it. Length of time here doesn't matter, it comes down to posting what certain people here want to hear. I've been a member for 4 years and was told a few days ago by StarCity that my posts weren't worth reading. Some people just like to run the show apparently.

My point was more so that we shouldn't be playing D2 teams. I'm not all that upset that we aren't beating FBS teams, but it sure bothers me that we lower our standards and play D2, D3, and NAIA teams. I was happy we played out in Idaho this year, even if it wasn't a good showing. But we have to start getting better, both in our play and the quality of the opponents we select. Overall, I consider our performance in the transition to be an embarrassment. Sometimes the truth hurts, but we have to face it before we can improve it.

I just find it extremely appalling that we are still scheduling D2 teams like St. Cloud State. I thought the whole point of moving up to D1 was to avoid teams like SCSU? Before someone says FCS teams playing D2 teams is no different then FBS playing FCS, I want to disagree. Both FBS and FCS are Division one, so there is a little parity there, even if the scholly level is different. I really think this whole transition has been a failure. Colleges like NDSU are whooping FBS teams and we are still playing (and sometimes losing) to NAIA and D2 teams. I certainly hope moving to the Big Sky cures these problems, but then I thought it couldn't get any worse after we scheduled Sioux Falls and I was surely mistaken on that estimation.

Young players and no conference affiliation. Give it time.

The entire name ordeal is behind us now, so can we please move on? I see no reason to bicker about who had what position. Nothing any of us did made any difference nor could it. For the good of UND athletics and the University overall, let's just try and heal the wounds.

This is embarrassing and unacceptable, no question about that. What bothers me the most is playing NAIA teams. Yes, I know, Sioux Falls is moving up but so are we. I have to wonder too, will our OOC schedule look any better when we are in the BSC? If the XDSU's and USD won't come here, we could still be looking at one or two pathetic games every year.
-
Care to tell me how UND has gained anything by playing d2 and NAIA teams, aside from filling holes in our schedule?
-
We have no business playing d2 or NAIA teams at all. At this stage of the game we should be playing an all d1 schedule including and FBS team.

I thought NDSU used all their pitchforks and torches a few years ago when they ran Nick Mertens out of town for not living up to expectations?

Obviously you know nothing about "netiquette" because it is consider rude to type in all caps. But then, it's rude of you to be here promoting your nit-witted idea anyway. It's obvious you are just trolling, trying irritate people. I don't go to Bisonville, but I've been told that they put restrictions on you or banned you over there. You seem to be an unwanted step child everywhere.

Everyone, we are all just playing into Bull's hand, excuse me, Bill's hand, when we banter back and forth. That is what he wants. I know, it's frustrating, but he's like MPLS Bison, he has to keep dragging people into his argument. Time to move on and ignore Bull (and MPLS Bison).

http://www.grandforksherald.com/event/article/id/175766/ I would like to see a time line for how and when we select the new name/logo as well. It's just time to move on.
-
The thing is, we shouldn't be playing D2 schools any more either. As I recall, we went D1 to escape playing these lower class teams. For the transition to be successful, it needs to be all D1 schools.
-
I'm not concerned about the 4 games left, we have plenty of time, but what does worry me is that we haven't found a replacement for the Sioux Falls game and bought them out. There is no way that we should be playing NAIA schools.

While true that the NCAA only says get approval of both sovereign tribes, since the SBoHE has already voted to retire the logo, a vote alone at this stage of the game won't change anything. If the sovereign tribes were to agree to the 30 year stipulation, at that point the issue would be revisited. I don't see Standing Rock being bullied into a long term commitment. I honestly think the issue has run it's course and need to focus on the future. Just a few thoughts.

Actually, I think it's 88% of all statistics are made up, but what do I know? Regarding MPS Troll, I suggest doing what I and a lot of others do, and that is ignore him. I can't believe Jim hasn't given him the boot yet. I'm not opposed to free speech, but even an open minded individual like me thinks it's not speech at all, it's just baiting.

Many of us here question if he was ever a bison. What better way to troll then to pretend to be from your hated rival? He's an expert on every subject except what job (if any) he holds. I don't even read what he posts. I just scroll right past and go to the next one. What a waste of band width.
