  1. Kristo Friday/Trupp Saturday.
  2. What I can't figure out is why Fargo can always make money on their dome, but GF loses on Alerus. They using creative accounting or just better managers?
  3. I'd say Gene Taylor is still standing in the way. I'm sure he still feels the sting from the slap Roger gave him by ending the series. I'd say once Taylor is gone there will be some interest down south. The way both teams are playing this year, I don't think you could give tickets away right now for a match up. Furthermore, I think it's bad PR for us to try to get anything pushed through the Legislature. Makes us look whiny.
  4. Longer then any of us cares to think about. Great West will never work for post season. Zero chance of going anywhere
  5. I'm going to just keep asking. Your guilt is showing by dodging it. ---------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- You know, I asked this question before and you clammed up for the only time in your life. What the heck is your infatuation with UND sports and what makes you think you know anything about it? I won't ask again if you have a job, I've come to the conclusion you don't. I won't ask why you got banned from the NDSU site either, it's obvious.

  7. I'd like to think that the score is true, but I doubt it. Looks like it got transposed, since we were down 18 with 3 minutes left.
  8. Hey MPSBison, Two questions. Do you have anything like a JOB? You seem to have time 24 7 to post here. And secondly, what is your infatuation with telling us here at UND Sports how to run things? I have heard you got banned at the NDSU site and all I can say is "Three cheers for NDSU".
  9. You are comparing a Sioux leader to one of the worlds worst tyrants.
  10. That is not only unfair, but totally uncalled for. Anyone who sticks up for basic rights in this abusive issue will be portrayed in a negative light by certain people here. It grows old.
  11. Game over 77-64 SMSU. I can't believe the way UND fell apart in the second half. 3 Mustangs in double figures. Seemed like we couldn't handle the height of DeMasi and Dale. Mustang coach is from LaMoure, maybe we should hire him.
  12. 56-41 Mustangs. Things really falling apart in second half.
  13. Mocking people who support a change doesn't help anything. It further highlights the fallacy that the University of North Dakota is somehow committed to "honoring" the Sioux name. Obviously you are only pursuing your own interests and not the cultural interests of an autonomous nation.
  14. Your blatantly racist comments are indeed proof of why the Lakota peoples are demanding you stop using the Sioux name. You are not honoring anything with your outbursts but rather are demeaning an entire culture. Yes, a name like "His Horse Is Thundar" is odd, but remember, we, the white people made them change their names from the historical language they once used. Yet another atrocity that was committed when that happened.
  15. But why would we even want to keep this name any more? I would assume that this committee was formed to promote the orderly transfer to a correct name. If we keep our prior logo, we are assured of being locked out of every conference in the nation forever. Let's just do this quickly and move on before yet more damage is done with the Lakota tribes then has already been done in the last 200 years.
  16. We've been down this rabbit trail before. We all know that "Sioux" was a derogatory name hung on the Dakota/Lakota Tribes by the French. Granted, they use it now, but it's not up to us to say we have a right to use it as we want.
  17. Back in about December of 2006 I made a post about how bad the men's BB team was and what a long road we had ahead of us and I got jumped on all over about it. Basketball was always my favorite sport to watch, and I sure miss the glory days of the 1970's. The longer we wait, the harder it's going to be to return to those days, although I don't know what the answer is either.
  18. Before the board configuration was changed, I was able to log in anonymously, but I can't figure out how to do it now. Can you tell me? I feel it's an invasion of my privacy to let others know when I come here to just to read. Thanks.
  19. I can't believe they narrowed it down to only one candidate. What was wrong with Bruce Smith? I feel on the end, they will find some excuse to start the whole process over again.
  20. Basically, this is the last I'm saying for a while. When I referred to talking to classmates, I was talking about old friends I knew and took classes with at UND. Sorry for the confusion. I'm not going into detail where I work or what I do, that's not important. I will say that I am putting my poli sci degree to good use, and no, I'm not an American Bar Association admitted lawyer. I know this is getting to be counter-productive for all sides. I just don't want us lost in a haze with no name, and I've wanted to retire the Fighting Sioux for a long time. End of story.
  21. While you weren't specific, I'm assuming that this little outburst is somehow directed at me. I will inform you that I am no longer in school, and have graduated for some time now. Well employed using my Poli Sci degree, I might add. I just love how anyone who supports the Native Americans in there quest to rid UND of a racist logo will be ridiculed. I said a long time back that the Sioux name would be retired and I was right What I can't figure out is why we seemingly have refocused our attention from finding a new name that conveys what we are at UND to bickering over keeping the old name. BTW, since you aren't even a UND grad, I don't see where you even have a horse to race in this event.
  22. Unlike, say medical research, some personal feelings are going to creep into any statement made regarding the changing of a nickname. That same bias is evident in the arguments thrown out by both sides. Does that make my opinion less valid because of my opposition to the Sioux name? It's hard to measure the racism that comes into play because of the continued use of the name. We have to defer to the namesake culture and let their leaders decide. Since they have stated repeatedly the name has to change, let's just do it. Again, why can't we just move forward, embrace a new name and work to the common good?
  23. Nope. Absolutely not. In fact, I have never met Dana Williams, but I have the highest respect for his work on this subject.
  24. No, I'm not employed by the Herald or any other newspaper. I am, however, trying to figure out how only the Sioux name supporters can be objective? Rather then calling Dana Williams biased, I prefer the think of him as qualified and well informed when it comes to this subject. He has, after all, done research papers on the topic.
  25. I think you are the one not getting it. The Williams article is objective. It points out the many problems with keeping the Sioux name. Just because he had the opinion for some time that the name had to go doesn't mean he isn't objective. I suppose you would say the same about me. I didn't just decide last week the name is offensive. This goes way back for me too.
