  1. I don't understand the criticism of Bubba and staff for not setting Weah and others up for success when you have no idea what was done for them. I don't know all the details but I do know they provide a lot of academic support for the players and have for many years. I don't think playing in 2-4 games really took him away from his studies. As was stated on here earlier - having something to strive for athletically motivates a lot of kids to do their school work. At some point students have to do the work - nobody can do it for them. Unless it is the Gopher basketball team of the Clem Haskins era.
  2. I thought the same thing. Show some leadership. As much as we would love to still be the Fighting Sioux - it ain't coming back. It does show how much the sports world differs from corporate America. Corporations make painful decisions all the time that aren't necessarily popular with the employees but leaders are expected to find a way to support them. You wouldn't last long in a leadership position in many corporations while openly subverting decisions the organization has made.
  3. The article stated that he really helped Krutwig develop at Loyola. This was in their student newspaper I believe. Not sure if the guy's opinion is accurate or not. I was not a big fan of Shanks play either. That being said, being a great player is not a prerequisite for being an effective or good coach.
  4. And the rules say they can't review it. Might want to fix that NHL.
  5. This is the that article talks about how he helped a younger player at Loyola (Krutwig). http://loyolaphoenix.com/2019/03/column-who-should-replace-bryan-mullins/ Krutwig’s seeing success because he can shoot and rebound, but he can also pass like a guard. He benefited under the tutelage of 7-foot center Carson Shanks, a graduate transfer during the 2017-18 Final Four season who was held back by miscellaneous minor injuries throughout the season. Hang on a second. Shanks took Krutwig under his wing and helped transform him into the MVC Freshman of the Year, has a great basketball mind and is getting a bit of coaching experience as a volunteer video coordinator at his alma mater, University of North Dakota. I think we’ve found a match. Think about it. Krutwig, who was already great coming into college, managed to get even better with Shanks’ help.
  6. President, MBB coach, VB coach
  7. Please elaborate while leaving her politics out of it - since you believe that wasn't a deciding factor. Only that she didn't care about the state.
  8. What will we do without updates on the Red Sox?
  9. Two big things HH would bring over MK are: Tact - to quote Oxbow6 She has ties to ND and gives a damn about the university and the state in the past and in the future. This it true whether she is the president or not. MK has no particular affinity for anything ND other than his job as president of UND.
  10. Long ways to go but - same for Heidi?
  11. I live in Minnetonka. You would know but word here is Motzko made a run at him for UM but that was quickly shut down.
  12. Do you know if he was in the plans for next year?
  13. My daughter just sent these pics from Krakow Poland. Might be worth a trip just to eat there.
  14. that's what I just heard. I-29 was still closed last night so I am surprised.
  15. Did they ever explain why they didn't review it? I had the sound down. wonder if it was 'game misconduct fatigue' on the part of the refs.
  16. One small bright spot with the snow - it is making me change my plans to do what you mentioned above.
  17. Wow. I missed this one. I have interacted with him through the engineering school and he is a very impressive leader. UND will miss him.
  18. I was thinking the same thing but there were a bunch of local kids on the 2016 Nat'l Championship team. Poolman, Thompson, Ladue, Simonson, Ausmus, Johnson
  19. Made the trek to NAU. It was horrible in person
  20. Jess Myers Retweeted Hondo Carpenter‏Verified account @HondoCarpenter 2h2 hours ago More BREAKING NEWS EXCLUSIVE FROM SPARTAN NATION: MSU Hockey UFA F Taro Hirose moments ago signed his NHL contract with the Detroit Reds Wings. He will be going straight 2 the Red Wings & not playing in the minor leagues, leaving MSU early. He is a Hobey Baker award finalist as well.
  21. Serious question. What did he do that got you to that point and what would you have done differently? I see his allowing a remote chief of staff decision as really bad but that only happened recently.
  22. It sounds like the new bleachers really add to the functionality. I have a friend who's daughter runs track for UND. He said the HPC knocks it our of the park compared to the other facilities they have seen. Even SDSU.
  23. Kind of fun to look back - I remember the clock also.
  24. I vaguely remember something like that being on those windows in the 70's
