  1. I get it. they ate their last one so I figured we’d sit on it
  2. Why didn’t we kneel down rather than score again?
  3. Let’s finish this one
  4. Where is Santiago? Haven't seen him
  5. I watched him play once in HS and I thought he was very good. A handier version of Studsrud.
  6. I have also talked with some of the coaches that turned things around in the late 80's. They had the same story as today. You need to win more recruiting battles and it doesn't happen overnight and doesn't happen until you have had sustained success. the kids we got after going 7-4 and 9-3 are in their first or second year in the program and you can't win if you have to play too many of them all of the time. We are not far enough along to be able to withstand the volume of injuries we have had.
  7. This is very true. Our program doesn't have the status yet to be getting all of the players we want and therefore are bringing in kids that won't be ready day 1. Currently we get a few that are ready and plan on the rest down the road. If we become a power we will get closer to that level but aren't at that point yet. That is why losing starters hurts us so much right now while we are still early in Bubba's tenure and many of his recruits are RS Sophs and younger.
  8. so there's one story from Maxwell and different one from the waiter. I don't think we know which one is true yet, do we?
  9. Yes I'm sure he is. I like all of the names you mentioned. I wonder if Rob would be interested or if he is semi-retired. He would be great.
  10. I would take him. He didn't know me from Adam when he was at UND but we crossed paths a few times and he was great to me. Very personable.
  11. I hope it is fairly benign or positive all the way around. We don't need any more turmoil for a while.
  12. I don't know why people think the cupboard should be full of backups that are ready to be starters. Bubba has had 3 full recruiting classes. Those players are True Fr, RS FR and Sophomores. Most of the Fr and RS Fr certainly are going to be challenged in a full time starting role. Some would be ready to start but not as many as we have needed. There are also some Juniors he was able to recruit in the short time he had after getting hired. There is no way we are getting all of the recruits we want right now so we are going to be thin at most positions. We need to start winning and build the program to do that. This year is a tough setback in that progression
  13. If he can. I don't know the legal ramifications
  14. I trust Bubba and know he will do his damndest to clean this up quickly. He isn't the kind of person to look the other way.
  15. We did have a discussion about this last year or the year before on here. One of the guys I played with who played some in the CFL said he was shocked that UND didn't do more position specific stuff. That philosophy was roundly debunked on this forum at that time. I agree that the injuries aren't due to the S&C program but am still surprised that OL are doing the same program as CBs - if that is true.
  16. I was agreeing with your post and it seemed like a good lead into my opinion.
  17. People that minimize the impact of the injuries we have aren't being fair to Bubba and the program. Yes, some of the Bubba recruits are over matched. They are the younger players on the team and don't necessarily have the experience or the physical size to compete at this level yet. It also takes some success before you can get enough recruits that are at the the level of you want. That is where I think this year will hurt us since we won't be as attractive to the HS players we want.
  18. MSU 9-11 on 3rd down. Can't win if let them do tbat.
  19. Flew to twin cities from Beijing. Got in at 10:00 last night and left at 5:00 am to get here for this. Yuck.
