I ran in a track meet on the rubber floor in 1977 so for sure by then. not sure how much earlier it was installed

I understand why it will come down but I have a lot of great memories going to games there. As a kid I got to be a ball boy and sweep the floor for the MN District 31 basketball tourney games. In the early days there was a dirt floor with a wood floor installed for basketball and a big net around it to keep the balls from going onto the dirt. I got to sit at the end of the court inside the net and retrieve any balls that went into the net. Also saw a lot of great UND men's and women's basketball games in there with packed houses for NDSU, SDSU, etc. Not sure when this pic is from but if you look closely you can see the net in the lower corners of the picture here.

I knew Porter wasn't the most recent one to do it but it was a great to relive the memory of knocking goldy out of the NCAAs in OT with at wrap around goal.

In OT I believe

Chris Porter vs MN in NCAAs?

Found this article from Forum from last summer. I don't know how old the pictures of him are in the article but he looks much more physically mature now. He was listed at 6'9" in the program so either he is still growing or they decided to list him a little bigger. https://www.inforum.com/sports/prep/wayzatas-jackson-mcandrew-son-of-former-fargo-south-star-who-played-at-und-generating-ample-d-i-interest

I saw him play last night against Minnetonka. Very solid player with lots of range. Had 22 points and hit 4-5 threes. Would be a great get for UND.

It wouldn't hurt Kleven to start making better decisions on the ice.

Don’t see Amari Head in this list. Is he next year recruit?
-
Target field is about 250 miles form Drake also

Doesn't seem probable but who knows. Might be GF only shot to get it.
-
Sounds like a good proposal.

I was told a few years ago by someone fairly high up with USA Hockey that the chance of GF hosting again are about zero. Said when US gets the bid, much larger cities want it now and they can way outbid GF. I saw somewhere that St Paul and the Xcel Center are looking to bid for the next its available.

My memory from when it was cut that women's hockey lost just over $2M per year.

the only surprise on that was that Jake said it definitely should be overturned. That is usually the kiss of death.

Or maybe the point is we had a kid who has now shown he is able to contribute on a team in the Pac 12 and we couldn't figure out how to get him engaged in the offense and keep him around. He also has 2 more years so let's see how he does moving forward.

I believe he had bigger offers than UND but we had an advantage because his dad played for us. I don't know his dad but ran into him at a game during Billy's redshirt year. He said Billy loved it at UND. It's not hard to believe that he got frustrated with his lack of a role in the offense.

The guy that I watched and waited to see get involved was Billy Riviere. He was rated as #13 prospect in MN as a senior by one place. In 2 seasons at UND he never caught a pass. I have no idea if we ever threw to him or not. This fall at Washington State he had 12 catches for 117 yards and a TD. It's hard to imagine that we didn't find a way to get him involved in the passing game at UND.

As a kid in the 70’s I remember UND running a TE reverse from time to time that was very effective. I say bring back the TE reverse.

Anybody hear if former UND and NIU db Sam Robertson found a new home?

I think he walked with the recruits a couple times thru tailgating. Definitely a big body guy.
