I think #1 is correct. One thing they do now is spot the ball on the closest yard marker for first downs if it doesn't make a difference. Cuts way down on measurements. might have been that they decided he was a foot short but on the change of possession moved the ball back to the full yard mark. guessing here

was thinking same while watching last night.
-
I did mail Sack City sign to a friend in gf this week so it made the game.
-
gotta get up and run a play quickly before can review it.
-
good luck and I hope you're feeling better. I'm on the IL too and will miss the game. Broke my arm and had surgery Wednesday. Listed as probable for next home game. NIU always scares me. They are usually loaded with athletes. Question is if they get their sh!t together.

I think the do recruit the right body types. they just don't get them to commit. Changing schemes won't improve anything until we get that fixed.
-
I just don't think a 4-3 would solve the issue of having 240 lb DEs and smaller inside guys. We to be need bigger and faster regardless.
-
I don't think the 3-4 is the issue. A lot of big college and nfl teams run it. It's a matter of personnel.

I never trust USD but they look legit

Recruiting wins, or lack of them, is what is determining the ceiling of our success. Some in-game decisions can be questioned but that is true everywhere. Teams with more talent overcome those more often than we do. We have to play a near flawless game to beat the SU's. They don't need to against us or most other teams to still win. I think our coaches must do a good job of development and game planning for us to be where we are most years. Things wont really change until we figure out how to get more 'dudes' in the program. We do win a few recruiting battles but not enough. It's evident on the front end in who we beat out for the kids we get and afterwards on how many move on to the NFL. We identify the right talent but just don't get enough of them players in NFL per ESPN: NDSU - 11; SDSU - 6, UND - 1. And Waletzko is first one in a long time.

tackle the de and get the edge
-
pretty much every play.
-
has ice pack on ankle. nothing to do with Rucker.
-
on sweep last td drive player on edge reached from behind and spun our guy around by shoulder. blatant hold, easy call. not much holding called in college these days

i thought it was seibl.

radio said rb Smith was in for a play this half. was he?
-
I'm sure some will find a way to blame Bubba or Kostich for that one
-
He’s a dink. Way after play and went after his head.
-
Any details you can add on him trying to poach Jerry? Guessing not but had to ask.
-
Amazing.
-
is Seidl hurt? Haven’t heard anything I see him on sideline but no helmet
-
I'm sure his height could be an issue but some of the throws he's missed badly on are in the flat with a clear line of sight. Being shorter shouldn't impact that. I've said this before on here but I think speed of the game is part of the issue too. Hopefully that will take care of itself as he gets more used to it.

just hoping there is enough of a spread to be able to play Jerry. It isn't a given.
-
Not a Romfo basher at all. The game is pretty fast the first few games you play in and he'll get better as it slows down for him. That said - the postgame radio show pointed out that against better teams we'll need to be able to convert on some 3rd and 8 and not over or under throw the receivers like he's done a few times.

I heard from a 'good source' that Tommy had is masters already or was within a few credits of it and just wanted to go home to Michigan and play somewhere there.
