  1. I'm very similar except just a couple years younger than you. I love all UND sports but am way more invested in football.
  2. From Tom Miller game story in Herald. UND sent in Vaughn, who ran in a goal-line situation last week against Northern Iowa. The Hawks were expecting YSU to focus all efforts on Vaughn, allowing Vaughn to find tight end Jaden Norby sneaking out the play.
  3. Guessing they were trying to build off the pistol set at end of half against NIU where Q rammed it up the middle from 1/2 yard line. Sounds like the wanted the defense to bite on that and then throw pass. I get it but if you think you're better, run a play with your best offensive set and try to get 3 yards rather than fool somebody. Way too cute. The only ones we outsmarted was ourselves. And we needed 3 yards, not 1/2 yard so I wouldn't have bitten on a qb rush up the middle either.
  4. Did you watch the last play? It had no chance. The 40 points were done with, sunk cost. Bad defense but we had one play to win the game and he takes out the player who is the only reason we were in the game. Way too cute.
  5. If gonna go for 2 run the same play you used for TD or some version of it. Flare Bo out and roll out Romfo.
  6. Freuchte not who we thought he was
  7. Take your best player off the field for game deciding play? Stupid
  8. Romfo great half. 12-13
  9. Just plain horsesh!t
  10. Killer
  11. Watched some of USD game a few weeks ago and was very impressed. Now realize it was against UNI so hoping that made them look better than they are.
  12. Not sure if been discussed here yet. On UND360 podcast last week Tom Miller said its hard to judge but based on competing offers the 2025 recruiting class is best UND has had. Hope it plays out that way but at least we're on the right end of the spectrum.
  13. The old saying that 'defense travels' is still true.
  14. We certainly aren't good on the road. I don't think staying in state and playing at SU is any kind of advantage over going on road vs most other teams on schedule.
  15. I think #1 is correct. One thing they do now is spot the ball on the closest yard marker for first downs if it doesn't make a difference. Cuts way down on measurements. might have been that they decided he was a foot short but on the change of possession moved the ball back to the full yard mark. guessing here
  16. was thinking same while watching last night.
  17. I did mail Sack City sign to a friend in gf this week so it made the game.
  18. gotta get up and run a play quickly before can review it.
  19. good luck and I hope you're feeling better. I'm on the IL too and will miss the game. Broke my arm and had surgery Wednesday. Listed as probable for next home game. NIU always scares me. They are usually loaded with athletes. Question is if they get their sh!t together.
  20. I think the do recruit the right body types. they just don't get them to commit. Changing schemes won't improve anything until we get that fixed.
  21. I just don't think a 4-3 would solve the issue of having 240 lb DEs and smaller inside guys. We to be need bigger and faster regardless.
  22. I don't think the 3-4 is the issue. A lot of big college and nfl teams run it. It's a matter of personnel.
  23. I never trust USD but they look legit
  24. Recruiting wins, or lack of them, is what is determining the ceiling of our success. Some in-game decisions can be questioned but that is true everywhere. Teams with more talent overcome those more often than we do. We have to play a near flawless game to beat the SU's. They don't need to against us or most other teams to still win. I think our coaches must do a good job of development and game planning for us to be where we are most years. Things wont really change until we figure out how to get more 'dudes' in the program. We do win a few recruiting battles but not enough. It's evident on the front end in who we beat out for the kids we get and afterwards on how many move on to the NFL. We identify the right talent but just don't get enough of them players in NFL per ESPN: NDSU - 11; SDSU - 6, UND - 1. And Waletzko is first one in a long time.
