Yeah... OK. 13,000 Sioux fans will come down no matter what. You're not going to get that out of any Big Ten fan base other than the Gopher fans at the Big Ten Tournament and that's only given because it's in St. Paul. Have the Big Ten tournament in Wisconsin or elsewhere, and you'd only get a few thousand gopher fans to travel and show up. That's a fact, anyone else who argues or says differently, I don't want to hear it.

With over 80 years of excellence, success and tradition as being the "Fighting Sioux", I'll never get the big picture I guess. Clap for them, clap for them! I've seen it and heard all before.

What happens if the first petition gains enough signatures?

You don't think I'm aware of the % that colleges loose money with other sports? Your comment/responses are worthless. If I were you, I'd quit posting on this board for the day. You're only hurting any credibility that you may have had. -

Tell me more, you seem like you're an "expert" and know all the variables and indications. Impressive. You tell 'em! -

I said cut the baseball team. Your interpretation is comical. -

I not looking it as a theory, I'm looking it as a bottom line issue. NCAA schools across the nation are losing too much money providing the opportunity and these kids playing sports, such as baseball, football, golf, (I;m speaking in terms of smaller college btw) that really bring no ROI to the school, the only value is the supporting value to the kids that play those spots and meet great friends and get to travel to wonderful location in the country and to meet/compete against students from all over. I wouldn't hire you as an employee. You belong working for a non-profit. -

You're welcome. I'm sorry your love for other sports at UND will unfortunately never be as big as UND hockey. I"m sorry if you're a die hard football and/or basketball fan. Those sports will never be as big as hockey on campus or in the Grand Forks community. In addition, the university should cut back on certain sports soon. I'm looking at the baseball program, but hey, I'm not here to cause problems. -

Love the football team, proud supporter and they WILL get into the Big Sky. But let's not forget the hockey team was always a D-1 sport at the University. If you're going to whine about the nickname doing damage to the football team and other sports, there's always the option of going back to D-II. You, please take your sarcasm somewhere else. -

A supporter yes. A person who is smarter and more educated than you, yes again. Yeah, the athletic department is screwed. Football team won't get into the Big Sky etc... When have you seen a conference league kick out a team? I know the presidents of the schools in the conference league can vote out the Sioux with a majority of the vote... I'm sure that'll be great PR coverage and attention for the league. I'm sure the Big Sky would welcome that with open arms, right? So, yeah.... -

Hey JohnboyND7, We didn't ask for your thoughts on the issue or your comments. Please go kick rocks, pal! In response to the "Sioux D-2" and "Fighting Sioux Big Sky Tour: 2012 -2012" Not original enough. Keep trying... -
That's perfectly fine, if you don't see MN Mr. hockey winners go to UND. The track record of past winners in the last 10-15 years have been busts. Nick Bjugstad could potentially be the one outlier, still I put him as a risk factor on how much impact he's really going to have in the nex level.

A nice kid in all. His ego and "2-year plan" path is the key problem with him at his time at UND. Was he ready to leave after two years? Some would argue no, and some would argue yes. He had quite the decent stats in his first professional year in the AHL, made the all-star game in his first year. Since his first year in the AHL, he's done hardly anything. Poor kid. Not impassive whatever so ever, even when he has an advantage of being a right handed shot/defenseman in the NHL. The kid is great, first pass puck moving defensemen and that's it. Kid can't shoot or skate by anyone. Rant over.

Brian Lee was one. We (UND) don't like to claim him as "one" as we usually do with our past players that progress forward to the NHL.
-
First of all, thank god UND has Matt Schill and many others with "Through The Doors" our production and tv series is second to none. Not trying to be a smartass, but what is Meriimack's one mission?
-
The only thing we like about Duluth, is Mr. Sandelin as he once was ours. Down the road, he may be taking the reins over at UND sooner than you think.

Nothings says fair market like what I can get someone to pay for them. Economics 101 That someone isn't me.

Easy, atmosphere and heated rivalries. Done and done, checkmate!
-
Yeah, haven't found any reasonable pricing on tickets on CL. I feel like the premium pricing on those tickets from UMD alumni, fans, or students there are a little ridic. I get the Duluth is ranked #1 and they're playing the Sioux and Sioux fans travel really well, but $100/ticket/night...please... this isn't a Gopher series.

Love for what the band provides to the atmosphere not just at The Ralph, The Betty, but even the atmosphere at the Alerus. I don't think there's any clear "hatred" for the band... I'm willing to bet that 75% of the people attending a hockey game at The Ralph love and support the efforts that the band puts on. It adds an "extra" element to the atmosphere there. No question. In all respect, I'm just saying they really displayed a lack of confusion on that jersey design, the logo is fine, the color scheme is a head-scratcher? Those jerseys, in particular alienate the band from the crowd and supporters wearing their "Sioux" Jerseys and apparel or "North Dakota" jerseys and apparel - pick your poison. Just my thoughts. One more thing to add. Yes, they do volunteer their time, which is greatly appreciated, but keep in mind they also attend and witness the best sporting events in Grand Forks with their providing efforts.
-
So it took 2 days to come up with jerseys that don't even resemble the color scheme of the University? I thought people that played in band we're pretty smart.
-
Agreed. Whoever came to fruition with the bands idea for those jerseys, is def. not on my "Like" list.
-
Any Sioux fans have tickets for this series, that they'd like to sell for use to other Sioux fans? Looking for two tickets Friday night, possibly Saturday.
-
With all due respect, buckyieve, are you high? If teams (MN) doesn't play Bedmidji, and Lucia nonchalantly speaks about them in the media, they're (MN) is doing Bemidji justice? Whatever you're taking, I want some.

You just have to hope that Miles Koules is a huge influencer to Seth Jones after his official visit at The REA. C'mon Miles!

Yeah, he's an idiot. No question. Not even worth a twitter follow
