  1. I really like the squad this year. I think they'll progress throughout the year week by week. I really miss not having Brock Nelson on the team. I was anticipating him putting up 30 - 40 goals this year. Gosh, that would have been nice!
  2. I had a month trial to get the Manitoba, USA, and both Alaksa games. The webcast quality was horrible. Nothing like last year. I won't be purchasing anymore games for the rest of the season.
  3. And being a grittier team too. Gopher players think they're all All-Stars and don't have to get dirty or battle in the corners. Usually a majority of their players are pre-madonas, but everyone knows that's expected with Gophers players.
  4. Again, anyone know if there's a webcast for tonights game against UAF?
  5. Tonights game on webcast on the Fairbanks website? Anyone know? Someone provide info and a link, please.
  6. What an all-around team effort. I guess this shouldn't surprise me with the personnel that was on the team last year.
  7. If you were going to tell me the Sioux would be up 5-0 in the 3rd period tonight, given their situation, I would have said, not a chance in hell. This is pretty darn amazing!
  8. Done. Let's get this thread back on it's initial topic.
  9. Yeah, what was I thinking? Budish is one of the best college hockey players in the nation. He'll probably be up for Hobey Baker and he'll probably play in the NHL for 5-10 years becuase there is a shortage of 6'3" bodies in the NHL and the AHL who have strong play along the boards. Get real!
  10. That's fine by me. I'll stand by comments about the kid. Time will tell. Maybe, just maybe he'll prove me wrong. We shall see...
  11. Just waiting for a knowledgable rebutal from you regarding Budish. So far you have nohing, but arrogant remarks. You're very good at defending your boy... You haven't listed anything to persuade me to think differently. You'd be one helleva of a person on a debate team.
  12. Ahh, Michael Parks is far superior than Zach Budish along the boards. Michael Parks protects the puck better than "most" players in all college hockey. He's one of the best. Zach Budish is not better than: Knight, Kristo, Rocco, Rowney, McMillian or Parks. Given a healthy year by O' Donnel, I expect Brenden O' Donnel to develop and be a better player than Zach Budish. No question. And yes, I've seen Budish play. C'mon, dude!
  13. And those were the people that didn't' watch the Sioux on a regular basis that year. Ryan Duncan was the most consistent player each and every night, regardless of him playing with Toews and Oshie. It was pretty obvious to notice.
  14. I have no hatred towards Minnesota on this current topic. I know a good hockey player when I see one, and Budish is far from that. He has a long way to go. And about Michigan St. I watched both games this weekend. They were not an offensive threat and at times, my friends and I laughed as they stood still in their own end on 5 - 5. It was brutal, every player had their skates planted, while the Gophers looked like they were on a Power Play.
  15. Maybe, just maybe, Midco Sports Network and UND Athletics should have agreed and televised the first women's hockey home game series and tried to get the kinks out and situated before the Men's season began. There should have been a plan and this should have been implemented in the contract right away to work out the kinks and avoid this on-going backlash about the broadcasting and inferior quality.
  16. Too bad, he doesn't!
  17. In those 35 points last year, look at the team he was on, but more importantly look at the line he was on last year. He only had "12" goals. A majority of his points were assists. He's currently leading his squad now in points? Big deal! It was the first weekend of college hockey and Minnesota, while a very good team, played a terrible, TERRIBLE Michigan St. team. Budish has 4 assits on the weekend. I sure hope he had some points, when his team won 5-1 and 7-1. I'm surprised the U of M goalies didn't have any points this weekend.
  18. Please enlighten me then. He's an average skater at best. His puck handling skills for a big guy are less than stellar. He has a long way to develop in the next two years at the U of M if he wants to have a sniff in the NHL. He's a second round draft pick. That was all based on size and "potential."
  19. What do you mean Budish? He's had a pretty poor college career. He's just a big body and that's it, not a lot skill there. He should have played in the USHL right after high school for a year to develop, instead was rushed in at the U of M coming right out of high school. Then, he had the "infamous moped" accident that sidelined him for an entire year. He's not a very good player. He'd be a third line player on this year's Sioux squad with everyone in the lineup and healthy, if that. Haula, on the other hand is a player. He's pretty good. No question.
  20. I will give credit and time to Dan Hammer and Kober. Last night, while watching the webcast in horrible quality (thanks Midco Sports Network) I thought they did a better job than the previous weekend. Dan Hammer called the play more lively and didn't drift off-topic while provided a bunch of facts, in which he did a lot against Manitoba. Kober, chimed in less frequently than last week too, which was nice, so that Dan Hammer could focus on calling the play. When Kober, got his time to make points, they were pretty knowledgeable and seemed to be at the right time. They'll both get better. I'm not too concerned with Dan Hammer and Kober doing the color.
  21. The webcast quality has been horrible the last two games (Manitoba and USA). This is unacceptable! I'm a proud alum and have supported the webcast service when I'm out of town, or at friends house that don't have the ability to get all Sioux home games on TV with their cable or dish provider for years. My internet connection speeds are superior, there's no question I'm good there. It's just truly unfortunate UND Athletics signed a deal with Midco Sports Network and let "quality" within the product/service regress from pervious years. Midco Sports Network while paying UND and settling on a contract, must have had a really good salesman on their hands during negotiations. Bottom Line: Very unacceptable!!!
  22. It's a $4.99 charge for the entire year. It is not a "One Time" charge. To have the same functionality of the app for next years season '12 -'13, you'll have to upgrade the app again and you'll need to pay $3.99. I used the app last year, it worked fantastic. I have yet to shell out the $3.99 to get the full functionality out of the app for this current season, though. I'll probably uprgrade and pay the fee eventually.
  23. Can't really compare this issue 100% with St. Clair. Kerdiles is top tier player, a 2nd round draft pick. This kid can't sit out all year for development. If he doesn't win the appeal process to the NCAA, he is as good as gone to the WHL.
  24. I agree with this too! Where can we start bitching about this, so that they can fix this issue? I prefer the interlocking ND logo to be used!!! Who agrees with me?
