  1. Pretty solid episode!
  2. Alright let's put things in perspective here folks: 1. This team has potential. If this team was consistently getting beat by a large margin from the best teams in the country, I would not say this, but guess what, they aren't. They are only losing by a few goals here and there, and like any team have had a few rare uncharacteristic games. 2. If, and that is a big if this team can get a winning streak going, anything can happen towards tournament time, given they are still highly placed in the Pairwise rankings (the only thing that matters) 3. Injuries aside, this team has been inconsistent all year. From chemistry issues with finding the right personnel for Gregoire to having players compliment Kristo with the player he is. 4. From a goalie standpoint Dell and Eids, if the team can generate some offense, Eids usually does not lose a game for the team, however he is nowhere near a high profiled goalie in the nation 5. This team does not have a number one line that scares the opposition while having superstars on that line like years in the past. Not a good thing to have. Having four strong lines on the depth chart is great but as we have seen with this team, offensive woes and power-play troubles are a result of this luxury. 6. Time and time again I have seen Malone, Zajac, Rowney, and Lammy not bury. The reason being people is because they are not true goal scorers. Everyone of these guys can play a role and play physical and go balls out night in and night out, but last time I checked you need to score goals to win a hockey game, I do not care how great one is given their defensive responsibilities and that a player plays with an edge. That stuff can all be learned, becoming a true goal scorer cannot. 7. Chemistry issues with the team? Dam right, people don't be so oblivious to these things, you can tell by players body language on the ice. Quit reading all the blogs and listening to Hak's comments, become a realist and do not be so naive to the fact that there are problems on this years team. 8. Hockey IQ wise, a few guys come to mind that understand and play at a different level, number one Gregoire, number two Marto. These two players are doing everything right most nights and making plays that are fantastic plays where other teammates look like a deer in the headlights and can't follow where Gregoire and Jake are going with the play. With that statement a lot of these players on this year's team are cement heads. Their hockey decision making is nowhere near previous Sioux' teams, as a result scoring became a significant issue and confidence issues with forwards has hit an all time high. 9. My last problem Leadership. Who is the leader on this years team, is it Chay? Obviously is. Well guess what folks, Chay is injured and has been injured for a long time. He may not play this season and he may never play again. Being optimistic lets say he gets back to join the team this year. Does that change all the current problems on this years team. No it doesn't. What the team needed in Chay's absence was someone to step up and become a leader. No one currently has risen to the occasion. Team wise that is not a good thing to have. 10. Lastly win tonight and move forward! Life moves in only one direction and that is forward, quit wasting time and energy on excuses and what if scenario, reffing problems ect. Please waste your time and energy on things you can control! 11. Rant over, Go Sioux!
  3. Is there a webcast for the Sioux/Gopher game at all?
  4. I would say yes and no. Definitely desperate times right now with the Sioux team calls for desperate measures.
  5. It's a hockey game for crying out loud. I am so sick of people putting down the students at the REA. They're great, they bring energy and life to building. I understand that some chants should not be used giving the offensive language and what not. However, tonight's atmosphere was just boring. I really wish the older people in the seats would cheer more and create a fun sporting environment. One of the biggest issues with the Ralph, is that going to a hockey game becomes a social event for a far majority of the people attending. There is to much control and it is sucking the fun out of the building and the Ralph allows that to happen because if people constantly bitch in Grand Forks, adjustments get made. I hate to say it but the best fans ever to attend the Ralph, were the Canadian fans during the world juniors in 2005.
  6. Making his college debut and posting a shutout and also acquiring an assist and the win, I think Dell deserves his own thread. I like his game. It is great to see that the Sioux have two goalies that can play any given night. I feel more confident knowing that if one of the goalies has an off game this year, we have two great goalies that can play. I know the Sioux played AA tonight, but Dell EARNED that shutout, Congrats!!!!
  7. I had the smile face for a reason. He is a good player, there is no doubt about that. He will eventually start burying the biscuit. Hopefully throughout the year he continues to get stronger so he can be a force and be hard to knock off the puck. Getting stronger should play a huge role in his development at UND.
  8. Look at him now? While he is a great player, talk to me when he starts burying a few goals.
  9. On a more serious note, a lot of students could care less about fighting sioux football right now. It is just not that exciting with the transition and we don't really have any explosive players like we had in the past. This team is painful to watch and it is painful to be at the Alerus Center and see such a week crowd. Also let's not forget it was Sioux/Gopher weekend and 90% of the students were drinking and having fun Friday night, they could give a rats a** about waking up Saturday morning and going to watch the sioux football team take on USF. Nobody cares!!!!!
  10. wow, pretty interesting. I watched this kid on tv during the state tournament I didn't really think he was that good at all. I know he was only a sophomore I think, but regardless nothing impressed me at all......
  11. How does a team go 3 - 1 and not advance? Do they take goals scored and goals against into consideration or what?
  12. Maybe, but after watching him play in the playoffs something tells me he was nursing an injury. I could be wrong, but he didn't seem all there.
  13. Jason Blake my friend, Oshie will get there, let see how he does next year.. No doubt he shall be amazing but you can't classify him with parise and toews just yet
  14. http://www.nhl.com/ice/news.htm?id=417083&...vid=DL|NHL|Home Either bad journalism or Morin is for sure already forgoing the College route. Take it as is...
  15. That should give Lee some confidence in the fighting department. Nice to see that, I know the kid is strong as nails so I am happy he got a solid punch in the little tie up with that Montreal bender.
  16. The money line with Bo, Brady Murray and Z par was more dynamic, they were one of the most exciting lines I have ever witnessed at UND. I remember the days when the same line would go out first for the PP, it was unreal!
  17. Thank god we have another goalie coming in next year to. BE did a good job throughout the year, but to have him play as many games as he did without getting some rest is a bit much. It should be nice having two goalies that can play next year if one has an off night, that's the whole point... not putting BE down.
  18. If you would of told me the Sioux would of scored five goals today and not win, I would call you crazy! I can't believe what I just saw. BE was not that solid, and Chay and Joe were so bad on defense that they did not deserve to win!
  19. Exactly people need to quit thinking Chay is good and Finely played awful, thank god he is a senior. Terrible coaching by Hak to keep playing these two all night when they were a minus 5 at least, unreal, way to !@#$ the bed guys!
  20. If they would just shoot the dam ball! All they do it pass and pass and then call time outs eff!
  21. Yeah so stupid, I hate it when ESPN does this sh*t!
  22. Is this game on TV?
  23. What an insane game by T.J. If he didn't get hurt earlier in the year, I think he would be a serious candidate for rookie of the year. St. Louis is going to love him for years to come, he plays the game with so much passion and energy. I was reading an article on the blues forums and it said that Oshie's jerseys have sold more then any other blues players on the team, if true that is pretty awesome. I really want the blues to make the playoffs, while they might not when in the first round, at least they are entertaining with players like oshie, berglund and backes. Columbus, Edmonton, and Minnesota are a snooze fest to watch, let's hope the blues get that last playoff spot!
  24. Last night T.J had the sickest hit against Dustin Brown of the L.A. Kings. I believe Dustin Brown is always one of the leading hitters in the game, it was highlight of a hit for sure. T.J just smiles after the hit. It was awesome!
  25. Lastly, fifth straight year the riders are in the state final game, that is pretty impressive to me. While last years team was plenty deep, not all of these past teams were the front runner to win state. They just seem to get it done. I haven't seen much of this years team other then these last two days, but to get the state final with two of your top six forwards an eighth grader and a freshman, who are good players, is pretty incredible. Also add to that, that on defense they only have 3 maybe 4 legitimate defensemen and Kieth Howe was always a forward going into this year. Who was the last team to play in five straight title games? Central maybe?
