  1. Please tell me why su people show up - and don't say it's to add to the discussion, bring a different perspective because I'm not buying that. It's a never-ending need to build up your own egos because of a never ending inferiority complex. Oh and I'll be at the game this week (The one the Flagship School is hosting) and I'm thinking with a homecoming crowd the better UND team shows up and the defense makes just enough plays to win it.
  2. What's really strange is they can't get it through their heads that we don't care what they think because every other post from them is bizonation crap.
  3. Wonder if there's a UND discount for Useppa?
  4. Yes another year for: 1. It was UND's superbowl 2. UND had everything to play for they had nothing to play for 3. It meant more to UND than NDSU 4. Butt football
  5. If Eastern Washington meets su in the playoffs I might have to watch that - not cheer, just watch.
  6. Am I seeing 5 teams from the Big Sky listed and only 2 from MV - how can this happen - the southern experts will tell you Big Sky is a "weaker" conference - heads will explode.
  7. Well you know what I don't want to be like the fans in Fargo. It's a game, they're students. By saying that doesn't mean I don't give a (*&()*&, it means I have perspective.
  8. My prespective - we knew we weren't a top 10 team before the season started, not throwing in the towel just trying to keep things in perspective. We were picked to be #4-5 in the Big Sky and finish anywhere from 8-4 to 4-6 - not accepting that just noting others think we aren't there yet either. Do we have talent on this team - yes, are they student-athletes we can be proud of and not have to make excuses for their off-field activity - yes, will some question the coaching staff's approach and ability - yes that's their perogative. By the end of the year will we be closer to the top of the list than the bottom - that's within the hands of the team. Are we headed in the right direction - no doubt. Homecoming awaits. It's a game, they are students, enjoy the season.
  9. Okay regarding the Big Sky Website - I downloaded the software as instructed, tested the video and watched Kobe chat then when I went to get the game it just kept cycling and there was nothing listed in the column at the right for me to click on. Somethings wrong on my end I'm pretty sure but don't know what.
  10. 98 yard interception return for a touchdown - that my friends is why su football players don't get suspended. Wonder if he said "Sioux Suck" when he hit the endzone.
  11. First of all when you say "Old Arena" there are some that remember the chicken wire around rink in the barn - way before my time but they have good stories. The "old" Ralph was where legends were born - the rubber chicken on a pole they used to hang over the goalies head during warm-up, the live TV broadcast vs Wisconsin where they had the badger drop from the rafters and had it placed perfectly so it swung in front of the TV camera, the dead badgers, gophers, live chicken? that got thrown on the ice, the knock-down dragout fights, standing in line outside for several hours in below zero weather to get a seat - the memories.
  12. Hope some of the more creative students latch onto this for the men's bb game - would love to see a cheering section carrying clipboards and dressed as Bison Petition Takers or carrying Best Buy logos. Perhaps the pep band could come up with appropriate songs - Jail House Rock? And you know it doesn't matter that it was a football issue and this is a basketball game - it's about taking every chance to get a dig in (like the good old days when the band used to play Old McDonald).
  13. So when he leaves I suppose he'll get the same legacy as Whiskey Joe, a great man driven out by haters of su.
  14. It might be good for the state if this helps push GT out the door. I'm sure it's tough for a man of his ego to have to step up and eat crow but I'm also pretty sure he had no choice. Nice to see that the athletic department isn't calling all the shots for once.
  15. Wonder if Coach Bohl will use the ND criminal justice system as bulletin board material for the team - the courts, the media, the law-abiding citizens all "hating" on them.
  16. Hopefully the judge will see through this also.
  17. Oh but they are handing it "internally" - I heard it's no TV for a week. Wonder if the NCAA has been made aware of this, perhaps an investigation is neccessary to find out if they were hired specifically because they were su football players - if that is the case there might be an NCAA violation here.
  18. Last year (a transition year with a poor schedule) we would have ranked 59th in FCS, right behind Sam Houston State. I am not ready to say Grand Forks doesn't care about UND football. It is true that hockey (and the money it takes to attend the games) is a choice that many other cities the size of Grand Forks don't have, plus it is an expensive choice so something has to give for some people's budgets, but obviously 7-8,000 have chosen football (9,500 less 1,000 - 1,500 students) . If we move up to around 9,500 - last year that would have put us at 39th. Not making excuses just saying sometimes people have to make choices because of finances.
  19. Just wait UND finishes in the top of the Big Sky and all we will hear is how "down" the Big Sky was this year by our friendly trolls and infactuated fans from bison-swille.
  20. Meanwhile students at Flordia State are dressing up as native americans with war paint on their faces.
  21. I was in the audience for the Spirit Campaign Announcement. The place was packed and it was a great mixture of current students and alumni. Now there was no raise the roof cheer at the end but it was a feel-good event. The UND fire dancer was pretty cool. Tough to compare it to a sporting event where you win it at the buzzer.
  22. I'd much prefer the message UND sent to its student athletes then the message NDSU sent to their student athletes. Which set of student athletes do you think are more likely to stay out of trouble in the future?
  23. This does support that UND was held to a different standard and that situations were blown way out of proportion (the sorority party that was continually brought up as an example of ongoing disrespect). One video segment I saw had Lee K throwing a native american headress across the set. Even if the Seminole Tribe approves the use of the name there must be tribes across the country that would take issue with the treatment of sacred items such as headresses and eagle feathers and students showing up in war paint and native american dress. It was easy for the NCAA to pick on a small college in a small state. Big picture is nothing was accomplished by making UND drop its nickname.
  24. I was in the stands for every one of the games UND beat su in during the last 10 years they played and every year I had to hear the pompus su fans sharing how they were the better team, no on UND's team would see the field if they were at su and guess what when the game was played - not so much. UND - owns overall win-loss record UND - owns win-loss record for the last 10 years the two teams played UND - won the last game played between the two team for the Nickle Trophy
  25. What you don't understand is that a message board for a specific team is exactly where you should be making off-base homer statements only su fans feels the need to monitor the site of a different school, which they claim they are no longer interested in, in order to correct every off-base homer statement they perceive is being made.
