I've never been a coach but I would ask that you share specific times when you are confident a coaching decision won a game - but guess what - whatever example you give can not specifically be credited to just coaching - the players still have to have the talent, savvy and hustle to make the plays - doesn't matter what decision the coach makes the players have to make the plays.

I didn't see a lot of the game but I caught DeRoen's fifth foul and thought it was a waste - away from the ball, shoving somebody near the basket - made him unavailable for the last few minutes of the game. Just not quite good enough down the stretch ...yet.

Do you think the move away from doubleheaders has had any impact - not that they had any choice and they will never go back to that. But it used to be you got two games for the price of one. I think some of the "on the fence" fans just don't want to go to basketball games that often and also tend to choose games to attend (men's or women's) depending on the opponent.

This is so off topic now it's just another Mussman bashing thread (and we all know who's going to be next to chime in) But...If you expect results at DI then you need to find the money to fund DI coaches and resources. UND athletics made the decision to move up (with much pressure from alumni) and with that comes the responsibility to fund the resources to make it successful. Mussman accepted the role of being a transition coach, whether he knew it or not UND decided to go on a bare bones budget for football during the transition - perhaps because they knew from the history of other schools that attendance (and thus income), and recruiting would suffer. All the more reason to respect the kids who did choose UND during the transition (in all sports). So now for some Mussman's legacy went from being one of the coordinator's of the national championship team to a failed head coach. Not saying he didn't have issues just saying that the transitional football coach position at UND was a no-win situation.

Just fact checking - I believe the Feeney family has a long history with SU and that Steve played for SU? Nice to see we are getting back into the Bismarck pipeline with this year's recruiting, as it has a strong UND alumni base. Head football coach at St. Mary's is SU alum and former player. Edit: My bad - CRS issues. (Can't Remember Sh*t).

Our LBs Are Going To Be Thee Strength of The Team Next Season

It's been a while since the Sack City sign has been busy - bring it on. -
I have a game worn football jersey from the 1970s and a varsity basketball practice jersey from the Gunther Era that says "Hustle and Defense Win". Willing to sell or trade. (will post pictures once I learn how .

Okay I'm no computer geek so I've never been able to figure out how to upload a picture here - on other sites it's a matter of clicking on the image shortcut and uploading an image - but here it wants a URL, how do I make an image a URL to upload it?

Thoughts after Omaha -- What the NCHC should change
CMSioux replied to The Sicatoka's topic in Men's Hockey
I'm thinking the conference wants to keep the tournament within easy driving distance for the schools that are most likely to send fans so it can be a last minute decision for the casual fan. -
Art - you will learn pretty quickly here that there are many that would rather share their knowledge of hiring and firing UND coaches on this board than talk about the team and the season - it's a never ending cycle depending on the season and what happened in the last game played.

Some agendas never change.

We are going to need a bigger training table. Can't wait for this kid to develop.
-
Met Ferguson's parents one Saturday while tailgating - they were very friendly and said he was enjoying his time (this was early in the season). Things must have changed, the kid was probably 18-19 so gotta cut him some slack and wish him the best.

I wasn't irrate just wondering - because I had heard that UND was threatened with penalties back when gophers used to end up on the ice.
-
Couple of thoughts: I think the arrangement of Sioux fans was intentional they didn't want us all in one spot. How can the premeditated throwing of a fish on the ice not be a delay of game - doesn't matter if it is their tradition - it can still be penalized as delay of game especially when it's obviously not random - they do it everytime they score? I'm not trying to be a party pooper but a rule is a rule.

Going! Trying to choose a hotel that is both affordable and close by.

Nice to see you - hope we run into each other at Final Five.

He was friendly but busy - it didn't seem appropriate to chat for more than a minute.

Interesting experience in the stands at the game - guy a few seats down was taking tons of notes, wearing Philadelphia Flyer logo. We chatted and he was a Flyer scout there to take notes on Parks. He took a lot of notes so guess he would also be trying to notice other players that perhaps aren't drafted. At the end of Saturday nights regulation when Zane made the last second save he gasped and shook his head like everyone else. Saw him later that night in the same bar that was taken over by Sioux fans. Great weekend - great road trip - we need to develop more rivalries and this could be one. - their fans are passionate, need to learn more about hockey but seem to be getting on board.

Funny name for a bar - hope the Happy Hour is good. "Yah Honey we were good - spent all day at a museum."

What is being lost here is the big picture - the small group that was against Native American names is becoming a large group and they have the media's ear - who is always looking for a victim. More questions are being raised about Florida State but they are big enough to hold them off - UND was not. Changes across the board are coming. I think the way UND used the nickname was very respectable (in the last 20 years but don't dig back further because it gets ugly). I also think that if one school has to change then EVERY school should have to change. But the reality is if UND still had Fighting Sioux as its official nickname the distractions from liberal do-gooders would be incredible and would hurt the entire university. It's sad but true. I do think that those who think once a new nickname is chosen the FIghting Sioux will disappear are mistaken - while the logo isn't being printed on any new merchandise there is plenty of logo stuff out there to last another generation. And there is nothing wrong with preserving a proud history.

I'll be there in my black shirt that glows "Sioux Forever" when the lights go out.

We continue to hear what a terrible job Mussman did, (and don't call me Mrs.) I guess it's something fans do - heap on blame, and the more time passes the easier is to make !@#$ up, but as has been shared there were much more to the transition struggles than just Mussman. I'm just wondering if anyone has first-hand knowledge that he (and his staff) did such a poor job of keeping in contact with recruits. It's been pointed out that they brought in some very good talent, but then it's easy to look back and take shots and say they shouldn't have recruited outside the region (when the common thinking back then was at this level recruiting needs to be national), they brought in players of poor character (really have you read the Fargo Police Blotter), they weren't connected to their team, they never visited ND high schools, the list goes on. He deserves a little better legacy, he was the coordinator for our national championship team, he was given the unenviable job of taking us through transition, he was given no money for staff, so we have to assume his other budgets were thin (recruiting), and it's quite obvious that football is not the first priority of the athletic department. If you think I am defending him fine, whatever, and I'm not saying he should still be coach, I'm just saying it's not easy taking a team through DI transition and if you compare UND's transition to 99.9% of other schools that have done it UND was right in the pack, given the resources they were given. Bubba is the guy but do we have to build his legacy by beating the Mussman dead horse?

Okay you must be done for the day you've made your daily quota of "just a reminder we're better than you" posts and earned your Marsha Marsha Marsha award. . .

Truth hurts? Did you forget where you are-you come here so often you probably get mixed up.
