  1. I was there during the Gino era. No, they never crossed the line. I guess my point was just as yours. It has changed over the years and under Hakstol, it is extremely unlikely anything like this would happen.
  2. I'm trying to think of reasons that their football program always has players getting arrested for various crimes? Maybe the weight room in the jail facility in Fargo is better than the one on campus?
  3. Imagine what would happen to four of his starters if they had been caught up in the same voter fraud scandal that the rogue program under Coach Bohl has found themselves in recently. Imagine that they were going to play Wisconsin that weekend. I guarantee that they'd be skating 17 players come the weekend. Because Hakstol has integrity. Bohl does not. Maybe that's one reason the Big Sky wanted nothing to do with NDSU?
  4. To be honest, maybe under Gino this *could* have happened. Under Hakstol, nope. That dude is a major harda$$. I have a friend whose son plays junior hockey and knows some Sioux players. It's study/practice/a tiny bit of free time,/sleep/study/practice...repeat...then some games in-between. UND has a reputation under Hakstol for being the school to get good grades AND develop hockey skills. Hakstol demands 100% effort on and off the ice. My friend's son can hack the academic end, but isn't' there with the hockey skills for the UND program.
  5. You're joking right? Of course they knew. They were told when the were given the job. I guarantee it. There is no way they were not told that the signatures had to be verified and it was a crime to falsify any signature. They are big boys. They are criminals, proven by their actions. They will be punished accordingly. Except by Coach Bohl. Who runs a rogue program. His inaction in this matter proves it.
  6. Ramnation.com (Colorado State Rams message board) *somehow* got wind of this issue. I wonder how the heck that happened!
  7. Yeah you did. I did a poor job of backing up what you said. My bad. Frustrating to see Hanson get injured in this meaningless game.
  8. I wouldn't read anything into this game. SDSoM&T is horrible. They have been for years. A new coach isn't going to change that over a few practices. Sucks about Hanson! Damn!
  9. First, I have to say that UND should win easily. I'm kinda disappointed that this game is on the schedule. But, maybe it will be a good scrimmage before next week. And I hope UND crushes them, cuz I'm a UND grad and fan. Second, I keep seeing reference to South Dakota Mines here. I grew up in Rapid City and absolutely love Tech. It's a great school. With a rotten football team. Yeah, we usually call it Tech, not Mines. Colorado calls their similar school in Golden "Mines". South Dakotans usually call this school "Tech". With the awesome nickname of the "Hardrockers". Gotta love that. They also had one of the greatest student run college radio stations that ever existed, KTEQ. (K-TECH, I did some time there...lots of fun) Tech is having a horrible transition to D-II. The RMAC doesn't want them. That sucks. Tech is in the second largest city in South Dakota and the RMAC blew them off. Kinda pisses me off. However, Rapid City has never really supported their athletic programs with a fan base. I can kind of see why the RMAC ignored their request for membership. This game appears to be such a mismatch that I can't even have any fun teasing my friends that graduated from Tech. I talked to a few of them, they know it's their "money" game. Oh well, let's crush 'em and get it over with...
  10. Notre Dame without that big whoppin' NBC contract? That won't happen...
  11. I don't know. I think we have a good shot against the Minnesota Vikings this year. After all, Kleinsasser retired!
  12. I always forget the name of that conference. I keep calling it the leftovers conference.
  13. I regret that the core of the old NCC with the the Dakotas, maybe UNC didn't stay together and move up together.
  14. I would believe that if they were foolish enough to waste their time, money and energy and put it on the ballot it would lose by at least a 60% margin. North Dakotans are finished with this issue. It's over. Time to move on.
  15. I can't believe that Taz never mentioned the $5 pizza special at Little Caesar's!
  16. Go to Olive Garden. It got a great review!
  17. Most BYU (football) players spend their two year missions bulking up and hitting weights in-between ringing doorbells.
  18. I agree with you that FCS is the old Division II. As much as I have fun telling the Fargo Buffalo fans that they won the D-1 Jr. Varsity championship, I believe that it is the right division for both UND and NDSU. I can't see UND getting crowds of over 25,000 to have a truly successful D-1 FBS program. I hate to say this, but NDSU being in a much larger metro area is a better candidate for a FBS program. But, they would be at the bottom end of FBS. Would they be happier being the big fish in the little pond, or the little fish in a big pond?
  19. How many used tractors would they have to sell to afford their buyout?
  20. What is even odder is that it appears that the Big Sky has the upper hand in the potential negotiation. They got hand! Hand, I say!
  21. As a Colorado resident, I am both shocked and sickened. Of course, I think of those who have been affected and wish them the best, etc... Personally, the whole thing sickens me and made me shut off the news/tv/radio etc... WTF is going on with people to do such a thing to fellow human beings? Nobody around me is talking about it. So unlike Columbine...
  22. I was thinking the same thing. I know that the MWC has been trying to do some kind of a shared schedule with the MAC. I'm not sure if they would want to expand, or just join forces with the MAC. If they would just expand, NMSU and Idaho would probably be potential members. It seems like the level of competition of the MWC is going downhill with the losses of forces like TCU, Boise State, Utah, BYU and even San Diego State. I'm sure that Colorado State is thinking of another conference if the MWC keeps losing members and downgrading to the likes of NMSU and Idaho. It is going to an interesting transition.
  23. Good. Just a reminder..it was a joke. Just a joke folks. Whatever works for them is just fine with me. This merger idea is pretty interesting. DU and UNC in the same bucketball conference would be nice for my possibilites of seeing UND play. Still trying to figure out the football angle. What will Idaho and NMSU do? Mountain West maybe? Football only like Hawaii? This is just a little tiny tremor in the world of college sports, but could be very important for programs like UND.
