  1. I think the NCAA said they would have flexibility with the arena, etc. on "historical" symbols. I don't know if that would be considered historical. I would imagine that the big glowing Sioux sign's days are numbered. Just an opinion on what will happen...
  2. What does that have to do with fart jokes?
  3. Oh, don't get me started!
  4. Sure. Just no bounty programs, okay?
  5. We could be the "Fighting Dasher Dancers" and use him as our mascot!
  6. Just trying to work in "Fighting" with our new nickname!
  7. Since, pink IS one of our school colors, how about the "Fighting Flamingos"? See? It's got a aviation tie-in! Just gotta get permission from that squadron! Or, the "Fighting Fornicators"? Sorry, can't show you a cartoon drawing of that... Or, the "Fighting Flanigans"? We can pick up on the interlocking ND and confuse the Hell outta the Notre Dame fans!
  8. Well, the invitation was sent to NDSU to become the 12th member of the Big 12 (after the defections), but the Big 12 office used the address directory of the NCAA and that invite ended up on Faison's desk. Faison replied that the NDSU Buffalo were not interested because the FCS is the true D-1 and they, the Buffalo, wished to stay there and not in some division that didn't even have a playoff! Immediately after sending off that letter, Faison and the rest of the staff took pictures with the buffalo D-1 championship banner and giggled like schoolgirls. Then, they prank called Gene Taylor. Lots of fart jokes were involved in that prank call. They like the fart jokes because Grand Forks is close to Canada, the home of Terrance and Phillip. And our Canadian hockey players like Terrance and Phillip.
  9. Personally, I think the mistake did not lie in shipping a D-1 Football Championship banner to Grand Forks, ND. It should have been shipped to Tuscaloosa, Alabama.
  10. It is a conspiracy between Nelson, Faison and the rest of the UND Athletic Department. No doubt that the NCAA will sanction UND heavily for this, in spite of the fact that they dropped then nickname. Heads will roll! Heck, heads will come off! Well, when they figure out that NDSU exists, then the NCAA will take action...
  11. Yup. Nelson is a co-conspirator. They are all against you. The NCAA shipped that banner to Grand Forks after being tricked into doing it by that pit of scorpions at UND. They are all out to get the buffalo.
  12. From what I understand, Faison actually called the NCAA and made sure that the banner was shipped to UND. He is, after all, the Sith Lord of North Dakota college sports.
  13. So you are calling fish drug addicts and look down at them as prawns. WOW!
  14. yeah... http://en.wikipedia....Timothy_McVeigh http://www.telegraph...ial-killer.html These dudes had own version of Jihad. Maybe you need to realize it has nothing to do with race. Every race has their version of nut jobs.
  15. I can understand that. Heck, I went on a buying spree of Sioux stuff when it was first announced that the name would be retired. I'm glad I did. I'll have enough stuff for my lifetime, and I'll wear it. Rant away, Dave! Get it out of your system. I just hope you end up supporting the teams sans Sioux nickname.
  16. Dave, I think you are honestly hurt by the situation. But, you have to just man up and deal with it. No more Fighting Sioux. It's over. Now, either you will be a fan of UND sports, or you won't. If you won't, that's too bad. But, nothing is going to change the fact that the Fighting Sioux name is gone forever from UND. And I am not going to be mean to you, because honestly I can't remember a time you were mean to me. I just hope you can deal with the facts, that's all.
  17. Hey, I even cheered NDSU to win that FCS thing last year. Good for them. I hope UND does the same soon.
  18. The NIT is for those at the same level of competition that did not make the D-1 tournament. FCS is FCS. FBS is FBS. They are on a different level. Many NDSU fans do not acknowledge that fact. They stubbornly try to group the buffalo in with teams like the Crimson Tide or the Gators. It's not the same.
  19. Actually, I think their hockey program has been fairly competitive the past few years. So, I think that they are doing just fine with the move to a new nickname. I know their football and basketball programs are doing okay also. Yeah, I'll drop the FCS thing. My only point I wanted to make was that NDSU fans have a tendency to group themselves with the big dogs of college football based on that definition of D-1 football. I don't think it should be called D-1, but it unfortunately is.
  20. Just pointing out the truth. Which is very hurtful to some, I guess...
  21. What? I actually was supporting what you said. Redhawks is just a name, and you are right that the team is #1, the nickname is a non-issue. Goodness, you are a sensitive sort, aren't you? (Remember, FCS is a substandard division of football, not the true D-1!)
  22. Good post. I believe that Miami of Ohio has joined the NCHC without a hitch and without their prior nickname. The Redhawks are doing quite well, aren't they?
  23. We'll be fine. They survived it, so will we. With the move to D-1 almost complete, we will be more than fine.
