If the students want FH, I'm actually okay with it. I agree that the school is for the students. I'll vote for RR, and let the chips fall where they may.

Still don't understand why a Portland State fan cares about this, but...whatever. Well, at least Nodaks was finally taken off life support. I'll be okay if FH wins and happily surprised if Roughriders wins.

I will vote for Roughriders. The Fighting Hawks name, although I could live with it, is something chosen by a consultant and the president. I want something unique. Hawks is not unique. Either way, I support the university and its athletic teams.

And, of course, not UND's. Who knows what the logo will be? Looks like Kelley and his hired consultants will win. Hope I'm wrong.

I agree. If it's a runoff, it will be announced today. If one name got more than 50%, we'll find out Monday or Tuesday.

Yes, he was. Both political parties have changed a lot over the last 100+ years. He was a progressive Republican. Very few of those exist today.

Me. I'm a Bernie Sander's supporting liberal. I want universal health care and an 80% tax on the top 1% in our country. And I want Roughriders for a nickname. Teddy was a progressive in many way, race wasn't one of them. Neither were our founding fathers or Abraham Lincoln. I'm not saying this was right, but that was long ago. Nodaks is a derogatory word used by people belittling North Dakotans. Plus, it just sounds stupid. Fighting Hawks is too frickin' generic. Roughriders is unique and has prior standing in our state. Roll Riders!

Dude was a badass and he said he became a badass because of his time in North Dakota. Even though Roughriders wouldn't have to have a Teddy symbol, who wouldn't want to be associated with him? Interesting. Implying that Kelley wants the "Hawk" name...hmmm.. I wonder how many students will change their vote based on this? Hard to say... Maybe it will make a social media splash?
