Write slower, Pat. I don't think the Stream Yellow crowd can understand you.
-
Well, I suppose it's easier to consider "expansion" when you have your main rival removed, due to a paranoid fear of competition.
-
You guys talking about the same Wanless who made a major stink about the Sioux logo, that led to the retirement of the Blackhawk logo, and earned him the undying emnity of thousands of alums, including this one?
-
Exactly. For an "uptempo, wide-open offense" we were promised and have come to expect, we sure as hell haven't been generating much offense, or even SOG in most games. Talk about the goalies as much as you want, but you win when you score more points than the other guy.

What load of self-serving shiat. Who do they think they have, Woodward and Bernstein? Losers. Looks like Ziegler and the rest of Chaps' lapdogs didn't really pay attention to the fact the D1 idea has been gaining momentum for a few years now, even if it wasn't splashed on the front page to their tabloid.

Why not wander back to your own pasture, and enjoy the evening with a gallon of Prestone?
-
'SU has no self-respect. Never has, never will. I think it's telling that Potts gets his "information" from chat boards. Maybe his sorry ass should stop here. Fear the VFSC!
-
It would really chap Chaps' hide if Dick Cheney enrolled there. Can't spell "Scum" without "SU".
-
Gee, do ya think contacting Dorgan before contacting 'SU might have been more an issue to inquire about federal funding, rather than trying to ruin Chaps' bender at the Bison Turf? 'SU offering a program then complaining because UND offers a similar program doesn't really lend itself to the "competition thing" Chaps and his toadies kept trotting out. More of a fear of competition. Good thing to instill in your students. Keeps 'em on welfare or farm subsidies.

How can filling a void in distance and OTA Student learning be politically stupid? If Chaps hadn't been so blinded by his own hubris in going D1, and building a "downtown campus" 10 minutes away from the main campus in "traffic choked" Fargo, he could have served the community. As it was, UND stepped in and met the market. Then Chaps has the temerity to whine to the spineless Chancellor about UND's opportunism in meeting the educational needs of the region. And yes, I think Chaps is a scumbag for not having the stones to address competition head-on, after so publicly touting it. On one hand UND thinks regionally, and 'SU doesn't see beyond West Acres or the Red River.
-
Looks like Chaps really is a scumbag, or he chapped his lips on Potts' ass or some other body part. He and his toadies tout "competition" and then run like a bunch of candy-asses to the chancellor when it gets tough. Poor babies. Makes you wonder how they prepare their students for the "real world", or D1 competition.
-
I think it's amusing that BSC approached UND, whereas 'SU has to beg for its attention.
-
I really don't see how this is "news". UND has considered a move to D1, at different levels, for a number of years, and well before Chapman decided to rack up frequent flyer/rider miles. I think the biggest factors will be the January NC$$ meetings regarding scholarship numbers, the ability to fully fund a move and whether the BCS is seriously considering UND. That said, a move to D1 is probably all but inevitable in the next 2-5 years, especially if the NC$$ changes the landscape in the next year.

Somewhat related to UND hockey, but here's some ink on a former SCCC player who seems to have reverted to his old ways. TylerAranson
-
What? Are you his homeroom teacher, or just another hockey groupie?
-
Ya mean like getting busted for ripping off pull tabs with some skirt, and then not having the stones to tell your coach, leaving him to find out from the press? Must be that "personality thing" you keeping harping about.
-
Besides, it's never "official" until Sid says so.
-
If he's that damn good as a senior, then he shouldn't be watching JParise (soph) and Lammy (frosh) doing his job. As far as Brandt's "personality" not meshing with the coaches', I think that's a load of crap. 2/3 of them have been around him since he started playing at UND, and Eades probably knew him to some degree from his HS days. Frankly, given some of his off-ice antics in the past, he should consider himself lucky Blais didn't dump him before last season. Even though most goalies are bizarre prima donnas, the best goalies still manage to play, regardless of who's at the helm.
-
Not to mention the NY Times, ESPN, SI, etc. Meanwhile, our poor retarded cousins have to content themselves with long bus trips to God knows where, an occasional glimpse on a ticker before a commercial for Viagra and hoping to God they don't run too far over-budget in the continuing saga of "What if 'SU went D1-AA for Chaps' hubris, and nobody outside of the F-M area gave a damn".
-
Interesting that Sioux hockey should be a welfare state or entitlement program to certain people. Hakstol, as Blais before him, plays the people who work to earn the position. Coming into the season, Brandt's job was his to lose. Well, he lost it. If he's as good as he should be at this stage of his career, he wouldn't be wearing a tie on game night.

In a surprise move, Kessel will sign with SCCC, score a game winning goal in their first NC$$ tourney win, and then promptly lock himself in the bathroom.

Eastern bias ... have to give some credit to the "Purse Swinging Nancy Boys from Hockey East".
