  1. Got it. I'll try to post some photos sometime...
  2. I just got the schedules loaded last week (still don't have a great source for football -- the Big Sky composite is promising, but is clearly human-entered and had a few errors last season). Just hadn't football back to the "active sports" list yet, just did now. Thanks.
  3. So did mine ever work out?
  4. We're not worried about people who know UND's logo well, we're worried about the 95% of people who have no idea there's another school using what they think of as the Notre Dame logo, differentiated only by being green. There's not enough difference in the UND logo for those people to realize its a different logo, unless they already knew the UND logo existed. Logos are printed in all sort of colors these days, and green is actually somewhat commonly used by Notre Dame because of the Irish association. Just google image search "Notre Dame logo" or go to a Notre Dame online merchandise store and browse, you'll see a lot of green.
  5. We are in the minority, but I've always agreed. Doesn't matter what claim we may think we have to it, 99% of people identify it (even the new version with embossing/drop shadows) with Notre Dame. Bad branding on our part.
  6. Sigh, way to *completely* break all the SiouxSports standings code that assumes 2 points per game. Looks like I'll have some work to do this Fall.
  7. My favorite quote, because it's so reminiscent of what many of us were saying when the 'SUs were first looking at I-AA -- when schools like the Dakota schools are rushing into D-I, that's watering down and the big guys will eventually do something about it. We did what we had to do (we're absolutely more with peers now than we would be if we hadn't moved), but we've just been maintaining staying in the 2nd tier (though the name has changed over the years, D-II, I-AA, FCS).
  8. Why Slate will no longer refer to Washington’s NFL team as the Redskins. Though they're quick to acknowledge it's more symbolic than meaningful...
  9. And call them the Fighting Sioux, right?
  10. Wow, that brings back memories. That's still what I picture when I think of "the Ralph". I know, I'm old.

  12. I was a little surprised it didn't have a thread yet... maybe I'll go start one. Edit, dropped a new thread in "community": Meet Grand Forks "Super Fan" Mark Kauk
  13. This story just won't die... a new twist! Boston Bruins Bieber-Proof Their Locker Room
  14. I'm just waiting until my SiouxSports one gets delivered...
  15. The usual thinking is that without a nickname, Sioux sticks around a lot longer. For example, if there were a new nickname, this site probably wouldn't still be SiouxSports.com.
  16. Mafia-- Haha, I got you to defend Bieber. I agree on the cup, though. When I saw the cup my buddy and I debated for all of 5 secs, decided that since we weren't ever going to be playing for it we got to touch it. People are just picking on poor Biebs.
  17. http://bleacherrepor...orial&hpt=hp_c4 Not EVERYONE thinks its cool he's touching the cup AND stands on the Blackhawks logo...
  18. Fixed.
  19. Now he's claiming that someone in the University System office hacked his account. You can't make this stuff up: NDSU president raises questions about University System staff accessing his email account

    Trolls

That account isn't currently welcome to post on this forum.
  21. In the "real world" it's often not possible for someone to delete the only copy of his own emails that might be subject to an official request. Poor risk management on their part if it's true.

    Trolls

No one gets banned for having a viewpoint distasteful to Sioux fans. On the rare occasion someone does get banned, its for repeatedly violating one of these rules: Forum terms and rules Threats and harassment, and politics and religion are pretty straightforward to interpret. Trolling is a little more subjective -- in a discussion about the likelihood of UND getting a Big Ten invite, I don't think a Bison fan shooting it down saying he thinks it's unrealistic is trolling. I think that's debate. On the other hand, a Bison fan spamming every thread about UND football with how much he thinks UND sucks is clearly just trolling. There's a lot of space in between those two that requires subjective interpretation. There's been a lot of discussion about this in the past that might also be informative, starting here: What gets moderated
  23. Come on guys, keep your partisan politics out of it.
  24. About the only thing UND has going for it is being good at hockey, but the B1G confirmed that being good at a sport isn't as important to them as other factors by adding Rutgers and Maryland. The formula became pretty clear with the recent additions -- institutions should be an academic peer with the other institutions and provide a significant revenue opportunity. In short: 1) Be on this list AAU membership, 2) open a new market for the Big Ten Network (JHU/UMD = Baltimore/DC MSA, Rutgers = New York/New Jersey), and 3) have a big fan base to demand that channel from local cable providers.
